A study on an earthing system without ground connection (대지에 매설할 필요가 없는 접지시스템에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes an earthing system without ground connection. As a Green IT Environmental Solution, Internal-external surge and other unnecessary electric currents are converted into energy and through a discharge the signal is reduced. It's a structure that discharges through a neutral electric transformer. The results show that the electric potential rising of the earthing system proposed in this paper are approximately below the half and the discharge currents increased approximately 9 times when compared to existent earthing systems. This earthing system is economical, easy to install and can solve environmental contamination.

  • On-line partial discharge monitoring system for generator stator insulation is developed. This system consists of remote and host units. The remote unit detects partial discharge signals from SSC(Stator Slot Coupler) installed between wedge and stator windings. The host unit monitors the condition of winding insulation. This system will be used as a module of a generator on-line monitoring system utilizing global network.

  • This paper is concerned with the development of a new method for making, separating ice and storage floated ice by installing an evaporation plate at under-water within a storage tank. In a conventional harvest-type ice storage system, a tank saves ice by separating an ice from an installed evaporation plate, which is located above an ice storage tank as an ice storage system. Developed new harvest-type method shows good heat transfer efficiency than a convectional method. It is because the evaporation panel is directly contacted with water in a storage tank. Also, at a conventional system a circulating pump, a circulating water distributor and a piping are installed, however these components are not necessary in a new method. In this study ice storage systems are experimentally investigated to study the charge and discharge of thermal energy. The results show the applicable possibility and performance enhancement of a new type.

  • It is necessary to irrigate for agriculture in Korea and agricultural canals play important roles in irrigation. Nowadays gauging water discharge in canals is important because of water shortage in Korea. But It is rare to gauging water discharge in canals. Several water level gauges are installed in agricultural canals through TM/TC. But the abilities of the gauges are insufficient for agricultural water metering. In this situation, we are developing the water discharge metering system which is inexpensive and easy to maintain.

  • In this paper we have investigated discharge conditions(parameters of this experiment) in facing targets sputtering system and fabricated $Al_{N}$ thin films. The parameters of this study are diameter of wing(d) and distance(L) between two facing targets. Varing discharge conditions, the discharge characteristics are wide different. The optimal conditions in this experiments are d = 6.5 [cm], L = 6.5[cm]

  • In India, the current operation of condenser cooling system & effluent disposal system in existing power plants aims to reduce drawal of seawater and to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge to meet the demands of statutory requirements, water scarcity and ecological system. Particularly in the Steam-Electric power plants, condenser cooling system adopts Once through cooling (OTC) system which requires more drawal of seawater and effluent disposal system adopts sea outfall system which discharges hot water into sea. This paper presents an overview of closed-loop technology for condenser cooling system and to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge plant in Steam-Electric power plants making it lesser drawal of seawater and complete elimination of hot water discharges into sea. The closed-loop technology for condenser cooling system reduces the drawal of seawater by 92% and Zero Liquid Discharge plant eliminates the hot water discharges into sea by 100%. Further, the proposed modification generates revenue out of selling potable water and ZLD free flowing solids at INR 81,97,20,000 per annum (considering INR 60/Cu.m, 330 days/year and 90% availability) and INR 23,760 per annum (considering INR 100/Ton, 330 days/year and 90% availability) respectively. This proposed modification costs INR 870,00,00,000 with payback period of less than 11 years. The conventional technology can be replaced with this proposed technique in the existing and upcoming power plants.

  • During operation of an RF glow discharge system, it can be observed that the reflected power tends to increase in small value, due to changes in the impedance of the system. This problem can be relieved by adding an automatic impedance matching circuit to the system. This paper presents a detailed method of automatically matching the input impedance of a 50 ohm transmission line to an RF glow discharge system at 13.56 MHZ.

  • This paper simulated discharge progress and partial discharge using needle-plan electrode system in air, in this time with discharge progress, studied the distribution of frequency spectrum of the radiated electromagnetic waves using biconical antenna and spectrum analyzer. From results of this study, a method was introduced for measurement and analyzation of the radiated electromagnetic waves in accordance with AC discharge progress in air, Besides, according to the consideration of the mutual relation between frequency spectrum of the radiated electromagnetic waves and discharge progress, it was confirmed that detecting partial discharge and estimating discharge progress were possible.

Development of a Zero Discharge and Reuse System for Rural Areas (농촌지역을 위한 무방류 재이용시스템 개발)

  • This study describes a zero discharge and reuse system developed for rural areas. The purpose of the system is decontamination of used irrigation water for down-stream usage and reuse of wastewater in rural villages for preventing water shortage problem expected to happen in near future. The system consists of anoxic, FES (Ferrous Electricity System), Oxic, Cralifier processes. The main feature of the system is to remove phosphorous by using Fe-ionizing module. Indoor experiments were undertaken with a trial product of the system to test its performance. The removal capacities of T-P, T-N, and BOD were examined. Also the proper time for the replacement of iron plate module was tested as well as the efficiency of T-P removal rate based on the usage of an automatic washing system for the iron plate. As results, the system showed very good water purification performances through obtaining the results of over 90% removal rates from T-P, BOD, and 67% from T-N. The proper time period for replacement of iron plate was maximum 2 years, and also efficiency of T-P removal rate found to be greatly influenced by the usage of an automatic washing system from the test.
