시각장애인을 위한 공간 및 방향감각 보조시스템 (Spatial and Directional Sensation Prosthesis for the Blind)

  • 시각장애인의 시각보조를 위하여 공간 및 방향감각 보조시스템으로 초음파거리계 및 전자나침반을 개발하였다. 초음파거리계는 40 KHz 초음파의 반사를 이용하여 장애물까지 거리 정보를 거리에 비례하는 시간간격의 가청음 자극을 제공하며, 전자나침반은 자기저항브리지를 이용하여 지구자기장을 검출하고 자북 방향 정보를 이마주위의 진동모터를 통하여 촉각자극을 제공하도록 설계하였다. 초음파저리계의 측정범위는 0.065-3.26미터이며 전자나침반의 방향 분해능은 22.5도이다. 그리고 초음파거리계와 전자나침반을 통합한 일체형 시각보조시스템을 구현하였으며 이때 거리정보는 두부에서 진동모터의 위치로 전달하도록 하였다. 본 연구의 목표는 시각장애인의 공간 및 방향감각을 위한 실용적인 보조시스템을 구현하는 것이며, 본 보조시스템을 반복 사용함에 따라 시각장애인의 공간 및 방향감각 기능이 향상될 것으로 추측된다.

모바일 기기를 위한 진동촉각 디스플레이와 선호하는 패턴 생성방법 (A Vibrotactile Display for Hand-held Devices and Its Preferable Pattern Generation Method)

  • In this paper, a vibrotactile pad system, T-mobile, is developed to provide vibrotactile cues for hand-held devices. A grooved and slim design is adapted to the back-side plane of the T-mobile, and the contact part consists of 12 vibrotactile panels which can operate independently and separately. To be isolated among vibrotactile actuators, the surface of the cover is divided into several pieces. Each vibrating module consists of a linear resonant actuator, a section of covering surface, and a vibration isolator. In order to provide spatial and directional information, sensory saltation and phantom sensation are applied to the T-mobile. To evaluate the developed device, two experiments were conducted to test whether directional information and spatial information can be successfully displayed by the device. Additionally, in order to find optimal stimulation by sensory saltation, an empirical test was conducted. As a result, spatial and directional information would be useful for displaying intuitive information for hand-held devices with vibrotactile feedback and reasonable near-optimal value for sensory saltation was obtained.

추가된 체성 감각에 의한 선형 운동 지각 변화 (Linear Motion Perception under Additional Somatosensation)

  • When one sensor cannot provide information by sensory deficit or loss, the sensory information can be provided by substituting other sensors for the defected sensor. This sensory substation might be influence on the deteriorated motion perception that consists of multi-sensory information such as visual, vestibular and somatosensory information. In this study, to investigate whether the additional sensation by sensory substitution could be integrated into the motion perception, we examined the effect of substituted postural sway sensation on the directional perception of body movement. Deteriorated motion perception by the reduced plantar sensation was enhanced under sensory substitution condition that provided the body sway information as the plantar vibratory stimulus. These results imply that the additional sensation might be integrated into and improve the motion perception.

인간 열환경 지수를 이용한 생기후지도 작성 및 도시·조경계획 및 디자인에의 적용방안 (A Way for Creating Human Bioclimatic Maps using Human Thermal Sensation (Comfort) and Applying the Maps to Urban and Landscape Planning and Design)

  • 이 연구는 대구광역시에 위치한 중심상업지역을 포함한 국채보상운동공원과 2.28공원지역을 대상지로 미기후 실측과 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용해 여름철 인간 열환경 지수를 분석하고, 그 지수를 토대로 인간 생기후지도를 제작하여 향후 도시 조경계획 및 디자인에 이용할 방안을 모색하는데 목적을 두었다. 인간 열환경 지수를 분석하기 위해 필요한 자료들로서 기후자료(기온, 습도, 풍속, 태양 및 지구 복사에너지)와 도시공간 구성자료(건물의 위치와 높이; 수목의 위치와 높이; 수목의 종류와 건물 벽, 지표면의 재질; 태양 복사에너지 반사율과 지구 복사에너지 방사율)를 지리정보시스템 자료와 실측을 통해 구축하였다. 그 결과, 풍속이 약할수록 도시중심상업지역이 공원보다 높은 기온을 나타냈으며, 습도는 반대의 현상을 보였다. 특히, 주풍 방향의 길들은 지역풍의 영향으로 주풍과 직각방향의 길들보다 더 낮은 기온을 나타냈다. 여름철 열환경 지수에서 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 기후요소는 태양직사광선으로 나타났으며, 도시공간에서 그늘 조성이 가장 효과적인 열환경 개선 방법이었다. 그 방법 중 파고라에 수목그늘을 이중적으로 조성하는 방법이 가장 효과적이었으며, 북향의 건물 벽 앞에 수목그늘을 조성하는 것이 그 다음으로 효과적이었다. 또한, 수종 선택뿐만 아니라 식재방식에도 중점을 두어야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 양지의 열환경 지수는 따뜻한 정도(warm)에서 매우 더운 정도(very hot)로 나와, 음지의 중간(neutral)에서 따뜻한 정도(warm)에 비해 불쾌한 열환경이 조성되었다. 특히, 양지는 넓은 광장형태의 지역들이 좁은 길보다 더 불쾌한 결과를 보였다. 재질의 반사율을 건물 벽 0.15, 지표면 0.1 낮췄을 때, 열환경 지수가 음지에서는 한 단계 중 1/6만큼, 양지에서는 1/3만큼 감소됨을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 미기후적 접근방식이 도시 열환경 개선방안을 찾는데 효과적일 것이다.

감각 유리견갑피판술 (Sensory Bearing Scapular Free Flap)

  • Among many kinds of introduced free flaps, scapular freeflap is one of the most popularly using modalities in fasciocutaneous defect coverage with minimal donor defect and easier procedure and constant vascular patterns of the donor. Many surgeons who had experience of this flap pointed out deficit of the reliable sensation of the transplanted flap is the main shortcoming of the scapular free flap. If we can subjugate that point, scapular free flap is the most excellent procedure in such a cases as heel pad reconstruction and hand reconstruction which are relatively important to have skin with protective sensation. Author performed anatomical literature review, 10 cadaveric dissections and 12 clinical dissections. In surgical anatomical aspect, the upper six dorsal rami of the thoracic nerves have medial branches which pierce Longissimus thoracis and Multifidus muscle with small cutaneous twigs which pierce Latissimus dorsi and Trapezius muscle. Among that cutaneous twigs, several twigs distribute to the skin of the back from midline to lateral aspect which territory is identical to scapular free flap. We analysed clinical experiences of that sensory bearing scapular free flap surgical anatomy and one year follow-up studies with several results. 1) Two to three cutaneous twigs which pierced from the Trapezius muscle over the scapular free flap region. 2) Each twigs has two to four nerve fascicles with small artery. 3) The nerve distributed to the ordinary scapular free flap and large enough size and pedicle length to neurorrhapy with various recipient site nerves. 4) The inconvenience of this procedure is the vascular pedicle and nerve pedicle have opposite directions, vascular pedicle of that comes from lateral direction from subscapular vessels, but nerve pedicle comes from medial direction from trapezius muscle. Author can found constant cutaneous nerve branches which come from piercing the Trapezius. This nerves are helpful for protective sensation in transplanted scapular free flap. We can't had enough follow-up and evaluation of the nerve function of this procedure, we need continuous research works to application of this procedure. The in conveniences come from directional differences of pedicle can solve with longer harvest neural pedicle and change direction of the neural pedicle.

가상현실 네비게이션을 위한 보행 이동 시스템의 개발 (A Walking Movement System for Virtual Reality Navigation)

  • A walking navigation system (usually known as a locomotion interface) is an interactive platform which gives simulated walking sensation to users using sensed bipedal motion signals. This enables us to perform navigation tasks using only bipedal movement. Especially, it is useful for the certain VR task which emphasizes on physical human movement, or accompanies understanding of the size and complexity of building structures. In this work, we described system components of VR walking system and investigated several types of walking platform by literature survey. We adopted a MS Kinect depth sensor for the motion recognition and a treadmill which includes directional turning mechanism for the walking platform. Through the integration of these components with a VR navigation scenario, we developed a simple VR walking navigation system. Finally several technical issues were found during development process, and further research directions were suggested for the system improvement.

악교정 수술 후 발생하는 신경회복에 대한 연구 I (PRELIMINARY STUDY OF NEUROSENSORY RECOVERY AFTER BSSRO)

  • Dysfunction of the inferior alveolar nerve indicated by various degree of numbness of the lower lip and chin is one of the few drawbacks of mandibular osteotomy, especially Bilateral Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy(BSSRO) and genioplasty. Although it has been recorded throughout the history of this techniques, it is true etiology poorly understood. In this study, 22 consecutive patients under class III malocclusiion impression and undergoing orthognathic surgery(BSSRO only 11 case, BSSRO with genioplasty 11 case) were studied using 4 neurosensory test(static light touch, directional discrimination, two-point discrimination, pin pressure nociception) with post OP 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 24 weeks, On control group, 10 members without trauma and nerve damage history, nerve test was accomplished. We concluded majority of patients return of sensation during post operative 24 weeks. Althought immediate nerve deficit are 92.2%, 97.2% 88.9% these are recovered to 25%, 35.72%, 10.71% at 24 weeks. Nerve recovery rate increased prominently between post 4 weeks and 8 weeks. There is no statistically difference about neurosensory deficit among the chin area. Neurosensory deficit more severe when the BSSRO with genioplasty group than the only BSSRO group. Immediate neurosensory deficit is larger left side than right side but after 6 months, there is no significantly difference between left side and right side. Static light touch and pin pressure nociception are more sensitive method of neurosensory deficit than two point discrimination.
