정재파형 초음파 리니어 모터에 관한 연구 (A Study on Standing Wave Type Ultrasonic Linear Motors)

  • 본 연구에서는 정재파를 이용하여 양방향 구동이 가능한 새로운 형태의 초음파 리니어 모터를 개발하였다. 이론적으로 모터의 작동 구조를 도출한 다음, 유한요소법을 이용하여 모터의 구체적인 구조를 설계하였다. 위 결과를 바탕으로 초음파 리니어 모터 시험편과 구동회로를 제작하여 구동실험을 행함으로써, 본 연구에서 제안한 새로운 구조의 타당성을 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents a new high-performance VLSI architecture and VLSI implementation for full-search block matching algorithm. The proposed VLSI architecture has the feature of two directional parallel and pipeline processing, thereby reducing the PE idle time at which the direction of block matching operation within the search area is changed. Therfore, the proposed architecture is faster than the existing architectures under the same clock frequency. Based on HSPICE circuit simulation, it is verified that the implemented procesing element is operated successfully within 13 ns for 75 MHz operation.

  • The suspension system of railway rolling-stock is composed of the primary and secondary suspension elements. Recently, a conical rubber spring is widely used as the primary suspension element due to the merits of the three directional stiffness characteristics. So, understanding the properties and characteristics of the conical rubber spring is very important from the viewpoint of vehicle stability and efficient maintenance. Thus, this study is started to acquire the basic data for maintaining spring elements efficiently. For this, we tested the conical rubber spring samples including a new and old specimen with aging. As a test result, we have obtained the property characteristics of the aged spring comparing with the new product and we describe the results.

  • Optical Switching Matrix (OSM) or Optical Multistage Interconnection Networks (OMINs) comprising photonic switches have been studied extensively as important interconnecting blocks for Optical Cross Connects (OXC) based on Optical Burst Switching (OBS). A basic element of photonic switching networks is a 2$\times$2 directional coupler with two inputs and two outputs. This paper is concerned with the diagnosis of multiple crosstalk-faults in OSM. As the network size becomes larger in these days, the conventional diagnosis methods based on tests and simulation become inefficient, or even more impractical. We propose a simple and easily implementable algorithm for detection and isolation of the multiple crosstalk-faults in OSM. Specifically. we develop an algorithm for isolation of the source fault in switching elements whenever the multiple crosstalk-faults arc detected in OSM. The proposed algorithm is illustrated by an example of 16$\times$16 OSM.

박테리아의 추진을 이용한 마이크로 구조의 조작 (Manipulation of Micro-Structure by Self-Powered Bacteria)

  • Flagellate bacteria such as Escherichia coli or Serratia marcescens possess a remarkable motility system based on a reversible rotary motor. We have employed S. marcescens as microactuators in low Reynolds number fluidic environments to move a larger engineering element around. Microstructures fabricated using conventional microfabrication techniques are blotted on the swarm plate, which leaves a bacterial monolayer on the surface of the microstructure. We have investigated microstructures powered by bacteria to determine how cell orientation on the microstructure surface relates to the swarming patterns as well as how the orientation is affected by the blotting process. This study will help to refine directional control of bacterial transporters by exploiting bacterial sensory mechanisms.

  • 본 논문에서는 다수의 변환자 소자를 사용해서 빔을 역 초점화하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 64개의 소자를 사용해서 한 개의 소자에서 얻은 것과 거의 동일한 모양의 구면파를 얻을 수 있다. 이렇게 얻은 구면파는 합성집속에서 영상의 신호 대 잡음비를 높이는데 사용된다. 실험에서 제안된 방법은 영상의 해상도를 저하시키지 않고 신호대 잡음비를 크게 향상시킬 수 있음을 보여주었다. 특히 제안된 방법은 기존의 역초점화 방법에 의해 우수한 잡음 특성을 갖는다. 여기서 영상은 송수신의 양방향 빔집속에 의해서 얻었다.

  • To evaluate the aerodynamic efficiency of TR-S4 configuration, wind tunnel tests of 40% scaled model were done in KARI LSWT. TR-S4 configuration has different nacelle shape, larger EO/IR camera and aftward wing location compared with TR-S2. Component build-up test after adding each element of model is performed. Also effects of horizontal tail incidences, Flaperon and Aileron deflection. on aerodynamic characteristics are measured. Test results showed that TR-S4 configuration has favorable stability characteristics in longitudinal, lateral and directional for the pitch and yaw motions.

지향성 보청기 성능 검사 장치 개발 (Development of Directional Digital Hearing Aid Performance Testing System)

  • The most recent trend on digital hearing aid is to increase the ratio of signal to noise by directivity or to develop noise reduction algorithm inside DSP IC chip. This paper designed, fabricated and tested a digital hearing aid directivity testing device in which a micro-mouse-like the stepping motor with a speaker rotates around an examinant. Both ears of the examinant were fixed with ITE hearing aids in order to respond to receiving sound. The experimental results were compared with those of a boundary element method program for verification. The diameter of the directivity testing device was 2 m and the micro-mouse was precisely controlled by PICBASIC micro processor.

  • 압전 세라믹을 이용한 전형적인 Tonpilz형 수중 음향센서는 외부에서 들어오는 음향 신호를 이에 상응하는 전압으로 변환해 스칼라 양인 음압의 크기만 측정할 뿐 외부에서 들어오는 신호의 방향은 파악할 수 없는 한계가 있다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하고자 본 논문에서는 Tonpilz형 트랜스듀서를 이용해 단일 센서만으로도 음압의 크기와 방위각 방향을 동시에 분석해 낼 수 있는 새로운 벡터 센서 구조를 제안하고, 제안된 구조의 타당성을 수식 및 유한요소해석을 통해 검증하였다.

Conceptual design of buildings subjected to wind load by using topology optimization

  • The latest developments in topology optimization are integrated with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for the conceptual design of building structures. The wind load on a building is simulated using CFD, and the structural response of the building is obtained from finite element analysis under the wind load obtained. Multiple wind directions are simulated within a single fluid domain by simply expanding the simulation domain. The bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization (BESO) algorithm with a scheme of material interpolation is extended for an automatic building topology optimization considering multiple wind loading cases. The proposed approach is demonstrated by a series of examples of optimum topology design of perimeter bracing systems of high-rise building structures.
