Self-localization from the panoramic views for autonomous mobile robots

  • This paper describes a self-localization method for the mobile robot using panoramic view images. A panoramic view image has the information of location of the objects from the viewer robot and direction between the objects at a position. Among the sequence of panoramic view images, the target objects in the image like traffic signs, facade of a building, road signs, etc. locate in the real world so that robot´s position and direction deliver to localize from his view. With the previously captured panoramic images, the method calculates the distance and direction of the region of interest, corresponds the regions between the sequences, and identifies the location in the world. 이미지배치, 조절초점, 메시지 일치성이 디지로그 제품 평가에 미치는 영향 (The Influence on Congruency between Image Location, Regulatory Focus and Message in Digilog Product Evaluation)

  • 최근 디지털의 편의성과 아날로그 감성을 결합한 디지로그 제품이 점차 증가하고 있다. 그러나 디지로그 제품에 대한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이미지 배치, 조절초점, 메시지 일치성이 디지로그 제품에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보았다. 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 광고태도에 있어 조절초점과 메시지지향성이 일치할 때 더 긍정적인 평가가 나왔다. 특히 디지로그 제품의 이미지를 왼쪽이 아닌 오른쪽에 배치할 때 그 효과가 더 크게 나타났다. 둘째, 제품평가에 있어 디지로그 제품이 가지고 있는 두가지 특징 즉 세련됨과 정겨움을 어떻게 평가할지에 대해 살펴보았다. 연구결과 세련됨에 대한 평가는 집단별로 차이가 나타나지 않았지만 정겨움이라는 측면에서는 과거와 관련된 왼쪽 이미지 배치시 조절초점과 메시지방향성과의 일치성 효과가 더 크게 나타났다. 마지막으로 구매의도의 경우 조절초점과 메시지지향성과의 일치효과는 오른쪽에 그림을 배치할 경우 더 강하게 나타났다.

A New Approach to Determine the Direction and Cause of Voltage Sag

  • Event source locating is very important to improving the power quality level. This paper presents a method to determine the relative location of the voltage sag source according to the cause. For this, the concept of the relative location of the source is defined first. Then, the main causes of voltage sag are classified and their characteristics are discussed. From these investigations, the rules to determine the relative location of event source are proposed for each type and the overall algorithm to identify the relative location and the kind of event source is presented. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the IEEE 13-bus test system and it is verified that the method can help to pinpoint the accurate location of the event source.

  • This survey was based on the data of one hundred four dogs with 108 case,T of fracture admitted to the veterinary teaching hospital, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kyungpook National University and 24 private small animal hospitals from January, 1995 to Decemberi 1996. The results were analyzed as following criteria; the distribution of fractures causes of fractured age and sexual distributions month of the most frequencel total body weights presence of communicating external wound, extent of damaged direction of fracture line, location of fracture liner fracture managements fixations methods, fixations methods according to location of fracture. The results of survey were as follow: 1. Main distribution of fracture; radius . ulna (23.1%).2. Causes of fracture; road toraffic accident (39.4 T,). 3. Age; over 24 months (27.9%). 4. Sex; male (53.89)), female (46.2%). 5. Month of the most frequence; July (14.4%) 6. Total body weight: 2-5 kg (45.27)). 7. Presence of communicating external wound; closed fracture (94.2%). 8. Extent of damage; complete fracture (92.6%). 9. Direction of fracture line: comminuted fracture (27.8 To). 10. Location of fracture line; diaphysis (62.0%). 11. Fracture management; open reduction (58.3% ). 12. Fixation methods; not treat (22.2%). 13. Fixation methods according to location of fracture; radius ulna-Kirschner wire fixation (45.5%), femur. shaft-intramedullary pinning (71.4%), pelvis-bone plate (53.3%), metacarpus-not treat, Kirschner wire fixation (each 30.8%).

  • According to revolutionary developments in automobile technologies, eco-friendly advanced vehicles (hybrid vehicle, hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle, electric vehicle, etc.) are rapidly increasing. The electromagnetic compatibility is getting more important for development of a vehicle because those advanced vehicles are driven by electric energy and equipped with more electric systems. In general, electromagnetic compatibility tests consist of an electromagnetic interference(EMI) test and an electromagnetic susceptibility(EMS) test. EMI test of the electric vehicles are needed not only in driving mode but also in charging mode because they must be recharged by much electric energy for driving. Depending on vehicle manufacturers, the charging device type and the location of charging device inlet in electric vehicles are various. In this paper, in order to investigate EMI of electric vehicles in charging mode in consideration of the direction of measuring antenna and the location of charging device inlet, a series of electromagnetic emission tests are conducted using three electric vehicles (neighborhood electric vehicle, electric vehicle and electric vehicle-bus). The test results show that electromagnetic emission measurements in charging mode are dependent on the direction of measuring antenna and the location of charging device inlet.

RF Power Detector for Location Sensing

  • Recently, RFID has become popular in the field of remote sensing applications. Location awareness is one of the most important keys to deploying RFID for advanced object tracking. Generally, multiple reference RF stations or additional sensors are used for the location sensing with RFID, but, particularly in indoor environments, spatial layout and cost problems limit the applicability of those approaches. In this paper, we propose a novel method for location sensing with active RFID systems not requiring the need for reference stations or additional sensors. The system triangulates the position of RF signal source using the signal pattern of the loop antenna connected to the power detector. The power detector consists of a signal strength detector and a signal analysis unit. The signal analysis unit indicates the signal strength and serial number using the signal from the strength detector, and provides the direction of the signal to the application target. We designed three different signal analysis units depending on the threshold type. The developed system can sense the direction to the transponder located over 10 m away within the maximum error of $5^{\circ}$. It falls within a reasonable range in our normal office environment.

The Effect of Economic and Infrastructure Factors on the Formation of Electric Vehicle Supply Chain and Optimal Location Selection: Korea-US FDI

  • Purpose - This study aims to present the changes and directions in the automotive supply chain in the face of changes in the global supply chain caused by external factors and the integration of industries resulting from internal factors. Assuming FDI in the Korean automotive industry in the US, this study analyzed the influential factors over the long term and derived the optimal location. Design/methodology - For this analysis, the characteristics and current status of the automotive industry are presented. Additionally, the study emphasizes the necessity and direction of change. The factors influencing Korea-US FDI in the automotive industry and the electric vehicle industry were analyzed through panel analysis. The optimal location from the perspective of distribution costs was selected using linear programming under the assumption that local demand will be replaced by local production in the future. Findings - This study found that the electric vehicle supply chain will change with the characteristics of the electric and electronic industries rather than with the traditional automotive industry. Additionally, in deriving the optimal location, the study emphasized the proximity to the consumption market. Originality/value - The analysis method and conclusions of this study not only present the influential factors and direction of FDI in the automotive industry but also can be applied to other industries. Moreover, the study provides practical and policy implications for industries and governments considering FDI in the US.

광학식측정장치를 이용한 금속정 내고정 수술의 원위부 나사체결을 위한 로보틱 유도 시스템 (Robotic Guidance of Distal Screwing for Intramedullary Nailing Using Optical Tracking System)

  • During the intramedullary nailing procedure, surgeons feel difficulty in manipulation of the X-ray device to align it to axes of nailing holes and suffer from the large radiation exposure from the X-ray device. These problems are caused by the fact the surgeon cannot see the hole's location directly and should use the X-ray device to find the hole's location and direction. In this paper, we proposed the robotic guidance of the distal screwing using an optical tracking system. To track the location of the hole for the distal screwing, the reference marker is attached to the proximal end of an intramedullary nail. To guide the drill's direction robustly, the 6-degree-of-freedom robotic arm is used. The robotic arm is controlled so as to align the drill guiding tool attached the robotic arm with the obtained the hole's location. For the safety, the robot's linear and angular velocities are restricted to the predefined values. The experimental results using the artificial bones showed that the position error and the orientation error were 0.91 mm and $1.64^{\circ}$, respectively. The proposed method is simple and easy to implement, thus it is expected to be adopted easily while reducing the radiation exposure significantly.

기계시각을 이용한 대립종자의 씨눈위치 판정알고리즘 개발 (Development of an Algorithm for the Embryo Location of Seed by using Machine Vision)

  • 대립종자의 자동정렬파종기의 씨눈위치 자동판정장치를 개발하기 위한 연구로서 수행된 이 연구는 기계 시각을 이용하여 대립종자의 씨눈 위치가 공급 방향을 기준으로 앞 또는 뒤쪽 어느 쪽에 위치해 있는지를 검출하기 위함이다. 참박, 특토좌, 흑종에 대한 씨눈위치를 판정하기 위하여 종자의 공급자세에 따른 판정정도를 조사하였다. 참박의 경우 공급자세가 $30^{\circ}$ 경우에는 77.8%의 정확도를 나타냈지만,$ 0^{\circ}$$15^{\circ}$때는 100% 검출 정확도를 나타내었다. 특토좌의 경우 공급자세 $30^{\circ}$에서 89.5%, $0^{\circ}$$15^{\circ}$에서는 100%의 판정 정확도가 나타났다. 흑종의 경우에 있어서는 공급자세 $30^{\circ}$에서 94.4%이었고 나머지는 100%의 정확도를 나타냈다. 따라서 정렬파종장치의 공급부에서 종자가 공급될 때 기계적인 메카니즘으로 $30^{\circ}$ 이상 기울어지는 것을 방지할 수 있고 $15^{\circ}$까지 기울어진다 해도 씨눈위치를 판정할 수 있기 때문에 향후 파종장치의 한 부분으로서 사용할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.
