  • A technique is presented through clinical cases for restoring anterior teeth to enhance dental esthetics using bonded partial ceramic restorations (BPCRs) without or with minimum reduction of tooth structures. These restorations offer the advantages of the superior properties of ceramic materials and the conservative nature of a direct composite restoration at the same time.

  • The study of the expression of architectural glass has recently expanded due to various factors such as the development of architectural technology, the reinforcement of environmental standards, an increased interest in energy saving, and the commercialism of the exterior of buildings. The background for restoring the tactile capability of the sense of sight has been prepared by agitating oculocentricism pertaining to the Renaissance era. The restoration of tactility can be considered in two ways. One is the tactility 'perceived' through complex experiences and the other is the tactility 'sensed' from the challenges on the materiality of the glass itself. Perceptual tactility is achieved from compound visual experiences and connecting these complex experiences in the brain. Sensible tactility, in contrast to perceptual tactility, is a more direct tactility which works within the nervous system, bypassing the brain. This is attained by reversion of the materiality, tectonics and connection method of the glass. Among rare examples, Laminata House built in Leerdam, Netherlands is a fine example of direct and sensible tactility. In this paper, the process of restoring tactility in architecture is studied at each stage based on the restoration of tactility in painterly aesthetics.

  • Composite resin have very important roles as a esthetic fillng material. Today we are confusing by a numerous number of the polymer options in the market. Are there any complications such as tooth sensitivity? Do they have stabilization in the long term aspect? These are the reasons why many dentists don't use composite resin in my country. But the problems can be overcome by choosing the best suited materials and meticulous clinical procedures. So that we are able to expand our clinical boundary. I would like to introduce the clinical techniques of Dr.Gordon Christensen in Utah, and overall clinical cases under the base of CRA newsletter.

  • The stability of slope using root-pile like to the reinforcements is affected by the interaction behavior mechanism of soil-reinforcements. Through the studying on the interaction in joint of its, therefore, the control roles can be find out in installed slope. In study, the stress level ratio based on the insert angle of installed reinforcements in soil used to numerical analysis, which was results from the duty direct shear test in Lab. The maximum shear strain variation on the reinforcements was observed at insert angle, which was approximately similar to the calculated angle based on the equation proposed by the Jewell. The elasto-plastic joint model on the contact area of soil-reinforcements was presumed, the reinforced soil assumed non-linear elastic model and the reinforcements supposed elastic model, respectively. The finite element analysis of assumed models was performed. The shear strain variation of non-reinforced state obtained by the FEM analysis including elasto-plastic joint elements were shown the rationality of general limit equilibrium analysis for the slope failure mode on driving zone and resistance zone, which based on the stress level step according to failure ratio. Through the variation of shear strain for the variation of inserting angle of reinforcements, the different mechanism on the bending and the shear resistance of reinforcements was shown fair possibility.

  • Underwater images are very much different from images taken on land, due to the presence of a higher disturbance ratio caused by the presence of water medium between the camera and the target object. These distortions and noises result in unclear details and reduced quality of the output image. An underwater image restoration method is proposed in this paper, which uses blurriness information, background light neutralization information, and red-light intensity to estimate depth. The transmission map is then estimated using the derived depth map, by considering separate attenuation coefficients for direct and backscattered signals. The estimated transmission map and estimated background light are then used to recover the scene radiance. Qualitative and quantitative analysis have been used to compare the performance of the proposed method against other state-of-the-art restoration methods. It has been shown that the proposed method can yield good quality restored underwater images. The proposed method has also been evaluated using different qualitative metrics, and results have shown that method is highly capable of restoring underwater images with different conditions. The results are significant and show the applicability of the proposed method for underwater image restoration work.
