We report an optical second harmonic generation measurement that allows direct probing of dynamical carrier motion in organic field effect transistors. Carrier injection and transport process are discriminated. The mobility and contact resistance of pentacene FETs are determined from the visualized diffusion-like carrier motion.
Direct photoisomerizations of benzalpyrrolinones yield the corresponding E-isomers via a singlet state, since no effect of oxygen on the reaction rates was observed. The Z-oxodipyrromethene was photoisomerized to the E-isomer in a degassed system. In an aerobic system the oxodipyrromethene 3 was photoisomerized at the early stage of the reaction and photooxygenated slowly at latter stage of the reaction. For bilirubin, other (possibly Z ${\to}$ E) than self-sensitizing $^1O_2$ reaction should have occurred because of the lack of a solvent effect on the self-sensitized photooxidation reaction rate at the early stage.
Background: Our study aimed to investigate the mediating role of work-family conflict (WFC) on the relationship between long commutes and workers' anxiety and insomnia. Methods: Our study measured the two dimensions of WFC, time-related, and strain-related, which were considered multiple mediators. The mediating effect of WFC on anxiety and insomnia was investigated by decomposing the total effect into a direct effect (long commuting time → anxiety or insomnia) and an indirect effect (long commuting time → WFC → anxiety or insomnia). The combined indirect effect (joint indirect effect) of strain-related WFC and time-related WFC was estimated. The effects were presented as odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: The direct effect of 120 min or longer of commuting time was 1.39 (95% CI: 1.17-1.65) times increase in the odds of anxiety and 1.64 (95% CI: 1.41-1.90) times increase in the odds of insomnia than those whose commuting time was less than 60 min. In the case of indirect effects, those whose commuting time was 120 min or longer had 1.13 times higher odds of anxiety (95% CI: 1.07-1.18) and 1.12 times higher odds of insomnia (95% CI: 1.07-1.17) via WFC. The joint indirect effects accounted for 26.4% and 18.5% of the total effect on anxiety and insomnia, respectively. The longer the commuting time, the stronger both direct and indirect effects. Conclusions: Our findings highlight the mediating effect of WFC on the relationship between long commuting times and workers' anxiety and insomnia.
The purpose of this study is to prove the effect of psychic distance between home country and host country on overseas foreign direct investment(OFDI) of Spanish companies through panel analysis. The panel data was based on cultural, institutional, economic, and geographical distance data over the past decade between Spain and Spain's OFDI countries. According to the Random Effect Model(REM) analysis, cultural distance(CULD) had a negative effect on OFDI, while institutional distance(INSD) had a positive effect. Among economic distances, income size distance(GDP) had a positive effect on OFDI, but export size distance(EXPO) had a negative effect. Geographic distance(PKM) had a negative impact. Meanwhile, according to the results of quantile regression analysis to prove the psychic distance effect by OFDI size, the effects of CULD and INSD in the quartile (75%) to which Korea belongs were the same as the REM analysis results. In addition, GDP and EXPO had a positive effect, and PKM had a negative effect but EXPO had a positive effect. Therefore, FDI host countries need to establish differentiated strategies through quantile analysis while making continuous efforts to improve the system.
The fashion product image preference changes depending on one's lifestyle and personal inclination. Women want to show the fashion product image preference, often through their clothing and makeup choices. Brand image includes those elements related to the brand. Advertising is the primary method for introducing brands. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of fashion product image preference on emphasis of brand image and advertising factor evaluation targeting working women in their 20s and 30s. The fashion product image preference was s sophisticated image. Preference for a sophisticated image has a significant effect on emphasis of brand image when selecting fashion products. Emphasis of brand image has a notable effect on the brand direct advertising factor evaluation. Fashion product image preference has a significant effect on both brand's direct and indirect advertising factor evaluation. When selecting a fashion product (clothing and cosmetics), brand image importance was found to have a positive effect on a brand's direct advertising factor evaluation. Therefore, fashion companies should take advantage of their brand logo. Companies should also pay attention to clothing and product containers used in advertising to show the brand. In addition, every company should create an advertising image that represents their overall brand, by using a combination of detailed advertising factor evaluation.
The purpose of this study is to examine depression in adulthood caused by the influence of negative life events (disaster accident, physical violence and emotional abuse) in pre-adulthood and explore the mediator effect of interpersonal maladjustment. To carry out such task, 974 people who have had negative life event experiences before the age of 18 were chosen based on the data from the 2012 Korean General Social Survey(KGSS) and Stata 10.0 was used to do the analysis. As a result, it was found that there was a direct relationship between negative life events in pre-adulthood and depression in adulthood. Specifically, experiences from an accident or disaster had a direct impact on depression. Moreover, experiences of physical violence and emotional abuse not only had a direct influence on depression, but also through maladjustment, it had an indirectly partial mediator effect that increases the chances of depression. Through this result, it was evident that negative life events from pre-adulthood had a negative effect on continuous interpersonal maladjustment as well as psychological welfare throughout the adulthood. Therefore, there needs to be thorough prevention measures on negative life events in pre-adulthood and strongly take post treatment into consideration. Through building a safe life environment, great deal of social support from social organizations should be prepared systematically.
Purpose: The study was done to explore the effect of perception of parental rearing attitude and social support on self-efficacy and stress among school-aged children, then to supply information for health promotion of children and to promote multi-cultural communication between Korea and China. Methods: The participants for this study were 180 elementary students each, from Korea and China. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, $X^2$test, t-test, correlation analysis and AMOS. Results: Social support had a direct effect on self-efficacy for both Korean and Chinese children. In Korea parental rearing attitude had greater direct effect on stress than social support and self-efficacy. But in China only, parental rearing attitude had direct effect on stress. Conclusion: These findings provide support for perception of parental rearing attitude, social support, and self-efficacy as predictive variables of stress in Korean and Chinese school-aged children.
Purpose: This study was to examine the fitness of a path model based on the objectification theory and to expand it by including the new variables to explain eating disorder symptomatology (EDS). Methods: The subjects consisted of 444 college women. Data was collected through self-report questionnaires that measured self-objectification (SO), social physique anxiety (SPA) and EDS as the original variables in the objectification theory, and influence of mass media (IMM) and sex-role attitude (SRA) as the new variables. Data was analyzed by SPSS/WIN 12.0 and Amos 5.0 programs. Results: IMM and SRA showed direct effect on SO. IMM had direct and indirect effect on SPA and EDS. SRA had direct and indirect effect on EDS, but only indirect effect on SPA. SO and SPA influenced EDS directly, and SO influenced indirectly EDS. Conclusion: Path analyses indicated support for the original theory and the expanded theory. It is necessary for repeated studies including various age groups of women to clarify the applicability of the objectification theory to Korean women's eating disorders. And it were recommended that we should promote womens' criticism of the image and message about the perfect female body presented in the mass media, and to highlight the relationship of gender equality to women's eating disorders in health education.

Prior research highlighted personalized services as a crucial antecedent to website loyalty, yet little has been discussed on the underlying mechanism. The current study explores the intervening effects of the three psychological constructs in the personalization-loyalty relationship: cognitive efficiency, perceived enjoyment, and socialness. An experiment was conducted with a total of 414 U.S. shoppers on a fictitious e-tail site for jeans that employed different levels of personalized content. The results found that the participants exposed to the high-level personalization condition reported a higher cognitive efficiency and higher socialness perception regarding the fashion e-tail site; however, no direct effect of intensity of e-personalization was found on perceived enjoyment. Cognitive efficiency and enjoyment perceptions on the site significantly increased customers' loyalty intentions regarding the site, while website socialness perception had no direct effect on loyalty intentions. Website socialness showed indirect effects on website loyalty intentions only through cognitive efficiency and perceived enjoyment; however, no direct effect from website socialness was found. Implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
This study examined how child care teachers' background characteristics, self-efficacy and job stress relate to their job satisfaction. Participants were 400 child care teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi, Korea. Structural equation models were developed based on the authors' hypothesized model, which proposed that teachers' self-efficacy and job stress have a mediating effect in the relationship between teachers' background characteristics and job satisfaction. The results revealed that career directly influenced on self-efficacy and job stress but had no direct effect on job satisfaction. Education level was found to have a direct effect on job stress but had no direct effect on self-efficacy and job satisfaction. Teachers' self-efficacy affected job stress and job satisfaction and job stress affected job satisfaction. Furthermore, self-efficacy mediated the effects of career on job stress and job satisfaction. Additionally, job stress mediated the effects of education level and self-efficacy on job satisfaction. These results suggested that teachers' self-efficacy and job stress were key predictors and mediating variables in the relationship between background characteristics and job satisfaction.
