중력모형을 이용한 방글라데시 의류 유망 수출시장 추정 (A Study on the Export Potential of Bangladesh's Ready-Made Garments)

  • 본 연구에서는 방글라데시 의류(ready made garment) 산업과 그 수출 시장을 분석하고 장래에 수출시장으로서의 가능성을 계산하였다. 먼저 방글라데시 의류산업의 수출 현황을 실제 무역데이터를 이용하여 분석하였다. 수출상대국과의 무역량과 방향을 이용하여 무역구조를 제시한 후 중력모형을 이용하여 38개 수출국에 대해 수출결정 요인을 탐색하였다. 계량분석 모형으로는 패널데이터에 대한 회귀분석 모형을 이용하였으며 고정효과모형, 확률효과모형을 제시하고 하우스만 검정을 통해 모델선택을 다루었다. 이러한 분석으로부터 중력이론에서 제시하는 수출대상국의 경제규모, 거리 뿐 아니라 환율과 인플레이션 등도 수출 결정에서 중요한 변수임을 확인하였으며, 수출결정식의 고정효과를 추정하여 수출 상대국들의 잠재적 시장크기를 추정할 수 있었다. 그 결과 가장 유망한 수출시장은 미국과 일본임을 발견하였다. 그러나 Sri Lanka, Pakistan, New Zealand, Egypt들은 이미 잠재수출량을 초과하였음을 보였다. 또한 현재 잠재적 수출시장의 크기에 비해 수출이 적은 국가의 경우 잠재시장 규모와 현실 수출 규모 사이에 수렴하고 있는 경향이 있는가를 측정하였으며 수렴률을 제시하였다. 마지막으로, 만일 방글라데시가 이 분야 수출을 증가시키고자 한다면 이러한 결과에 유의하여 시장 진출 전략을 수립하여야 함을 지적하였다.

  • This research suggest the correspondent sizes of female ready-made clothes to export to China on the basis of those of Korean women's ready-made clothes. The following is the concrete coverage of this research: $\cdot$ Analyze the physical measurements and body types of the women in their 30s and 40s in the area of Ningbo, Jeolgang Province in China. $\cdot$ Compare the body measurements of Chinese and Korean women. $\cdot$ Hold compensation measurement by an basic torso pattern test to raise precision of the direct and indirect body measurements. $\cdot$ Establish the corresponding and representative sizes of women's ready-made clothes to go to China. $\cdot$ Make basic torso pattern and sample clothes reflecting representative sizes. $\cdot$ Hold adjustment and compensation through the wearing evaluation by Chinese consumers on the spot. $\cdot$ Finally suggest the correspondent sizes of women's ready-made clothes to export to China.

국내 의류브랜드의 중국진출 현황 및 마케팅전략 제안 (Entry to Chinese Market for Korean Fashion Brands: Current Situations and Suggestions of Marketing Strategies)

  • The purpose of this study is 1) to identify Chinese environment for investment and apparel market, 2) to analyze the current situations of Korean fashion brands'entry to Chinese market, 3) to analyze the marketing strategies to China according to product category, and 4) to identify merits and problems of Chinese market. For data collection, secondary resources were collected, and the telephone interview with merchandisers were implemented with brand managers. Twenty-one fashion brands were included for the study. Results of the study were as followed: 1) China was a big potential apparel market due to its rapid economic growth. Apparel purchase behavior and clothing preference of Chinese consumers were various by regional groups. 2) The motives of entry to China were to competition in domestic markets, saving raw material cost. The entry modes to China were direct export, license and regional manufacturing system. 3) Marketing strategies were to pursue high quality branding, high pricing and placing strategies with high-class department stores. Also star marketing were used with "Han Rue". Also various promotion strategies were implemented such as fashion show and unique VMD. 4) The merits of Chinese market were high potential market for export, close proximity, cultural similarity and Han-Ryu syndrome. Problems of Chinese market for export were lack of experts on Chinese market, fierce competition in China, and unstable economic policies.

한국의 대ASEAN 정보통신산업에 관한 연구 (A study on Korea's IT Industry analysis to ASEAN)

  • ASEAN지역의 IT 산업은 우리에게도 지역내 IT 시장에서의 새로운 기회를 가져다 줄 것으로 기대된다. 이에 따라 우리는 새로운 기회를 새로운 도약으로 이어갈 수 있도록 우리나라 IT 산업의 경쟁력을 제고하여야 한다. 이를 위해 우리는 우리나라 IT 산업을 지역 내 국가들에게 효과적으로 홍보하고, ASEAN IT 산업의 표준을 선도하고, 지역내 국가들과의 IT 산업 관련 R&D 및 생산에서의 협력을 강화함은 물론 후발국가들의 도전을 슬기롭게 극복할 수 있어야 하겠다. 이에 본고에서는, 한국에 있어 ASEAN 시장의 중요성을 인식하고 한 일 미와 ASEAN간 정보통신산업에 있어서의 시장흐름과 무역간의 결합도를 알아보고, 주요 정보통신산업의 새로운 투자유망지역으로 떠오르고 있는 ASEAN 지역의 투자현황을 살펴보고 양지역간의 경제적 협력을 제시해 보는데에 목적을 두고자 한다.

미국 지방자치단체의 지역사회 경제개발 정책변화가 우리 나라 지역사회 경제개발에 주는 정책적 함의 (Community Economic Development Policy of the USA Local Governments and its Implication to Korean Local Community Economic Development)

  • The purpose of this paper was to draw implications for community economic development policies of Korean local governments by investigating the community economic development policies of the USA local governments. Those policies can be segmented to first wave(1950s-1970s), second wave(1980s), and third wave(1990s) of development policy. First two policies entailed some expense to community residents by providing low tax rates, tax abatement, tax reliefs, industrial revenue bonds, and direct state loans for potential companies. These policies brought ‘clawback’ and ‘drawbacks’ to the local residents. The third wave of community economic development policy includes capital market programs(predominantly government-financed loan programs and government support for predominantly privately financed loan or equity programs), providing information and education for small business in the communities, supporting small business by providing high technology and research, and export assistance-providing information/training opportunity how to export, sending trade missions, and export financing. Local government authorities in Korea should learn the community economic development policies administrated by the USA local governments so that they can avoid the potential try-and-errors in establishing, planning, and administrating their economic development policies.

Decrease in the Growth of Domestic Demand in Korea

  • This paper investigates a link between the significant decline in the growth of domestic demand and the dampened ripple effects from the export sector in Korea since the East Asian financial crisis. The dampened ripple effects are closely linked to the changed investment behaviors of the Korean large-sized exporting firms since the crisis: they do not invest in their export earnings any more to create new industries; they tend to use more foreign value added contents for their exports and to increase outward direct investment by actively participating in global value chains. The paper also examines a link between the growth of domestic demand and the growth of household disposable income and presents reasons for the decline in the growth of household disposable income since the East Asian financial crisis.

온라인 매칭 및 물류시스템이 역직구 활성화에 미치는 영향-국가신뢰의 매개 효과 (The Effect of An Online Matching and Logistics System on Reverse Overseas Direct Purchase: The Mediating Effect of Reliability)

  • Recently, traditional trade in the global trade market has stagnated in the aftermath of the US-China trade war and the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, the global e-commerce market is growing rapidly, presenting a new opportunity for exports. To examine the effect of an online matching and logistics system on reverse overseas direct purchase and the mediating effect of reliability, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 320 employees in a Korean trade company from March 10 to April 30, 2018. The study model's goodness of fit was tested, and an analysis was performed using the AMOS statistical package. The online matching and logistics system were found to have a positive effect on reverse overseas direct purchase. Furthermore, results revealed that while a country's reliability mediated online matching and reverse overseas direct purchase, it did not mediate the logistics system. These results mean that online matching is affected by a country's reliability in overseas consumers' buying decision process. This study provides implications for the future directions of export companies and national policies to promote reverse overseas direct purchase. Future research including more countries and companies would be able to make further contributions toward the development of the Korean cross-border e-commerce industry.

한국과 베트남의 무역 및 투자협력 증진방안에 관한 연구 (Strategies for Promoting Trade and Foreign Direct Investment between Korea and Vietnam)

  • This paper suggests several strategies for promoting Trade and Foreign Direct Investment cooperation to the Korean government and companies as follows ; For Korean government, its trade policy would be given much weight on the import from the Vietnam in the early developing stage. This import could be compensated and increased with the counter export of Korean products like the industrial goods. For Korean companies, they would make haste to invest and develop the abundant energy and natural resources in Vietnam. Their desirable strategies would be moving small scale projects into large ones, production partnerships with the foreign developed and experienced companies, and international joint ventures for using inward FDI incentives. The long range vision and perseverance are indispensable for promoting trade and foreign direct investments between and Korea and Vietnam and both parties' win-win results and development in the end.

A Study on the Analysis of Attracting Factors for Global Foreign Direct Investment Inflows

  • Purpose - The objective of this study is to investigate what motivates global FDI inflows in the different economic development level and to clarify the FDI motivation type in the level of qualitative economic growth. Design/methodology/approach - Major macroscopic social·economic factors induced FDI inflows were analyzed using fixed-effect panel regression with 30-year panel data of 28 countries from 1985 to 2014. For analysis in the stage of economic growth, two category of developed and developing countries was used. And to analyze FDI motivation type in the level of qualitative economic growth, 4 shares of GDP; consumption·government·investment expenditure and export, was used as explanatory variable. Findings - In developed country, TFP(total factor productivity) and GDP have a great influence on FDI inflows, and consumption and labor compensation have a slight effect. This result indicates that the market seeking-driven, horizontal type investment is shown along with efficiency seeking investment. In developing country, human capital and TFP is shown to have greater impact on FDI inflows and labor compensation, exports, investment and government expenditures also have impacts. Thus it has confirmed that not only efficiency-seeking vertical investment for using low cost well educated laborer, but also government-driven economic growth and export policies could affect the FDI inflows. Research implications or Originality - The FDI investment decision making of multinational companies is decided by their own purpose. But, in the concept of as follows; 1) FDI is a long-term capital flowing for maximization of economic utility with limited global resource, 2) Thus FDI could be affected by macro socio·economic factors of host country. 3) Also such macro factors is different by each economic growth qualitative level. Therefore macro socio·economic factors of each country could be affected by the qualitative level of their own economic growth. To attract FDI inflows, it is desirable to implement differentiated incentive policies in the qualitative level of economic growth. Furthermore in developing countries it is recommended to implement government driven economic growth policies as follows; fostering well educated human resources, improving technology productivity in the relative lower cost labor market compared to developed countries and boosting international export volume.

중소기업의 국제기업가 성향이 기업역량 및 수출성과에 미치는 영향: 산업재와 소비재를 중심으로 (The Effects of International Entrepreneurial Proclivity of SME's on Corporate Capability and Export Performance: Focused on Consumer Goods and Industrial Goods)

  • 본 연구는 산업재와 소비재의 제품유형에 따라 수출 중소기업의 국제기업가 성향이 기업역량 및 수출성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 수출 중소기업의 국제기업가 성향은 위험추구성향, 진취성, 혁신성으로 구성되어 있으며, 기업역량은 기술역량과 제품차별화 역량으로 구성되어 있다. 산업재의 경우 위험추구성향, 혁신성, 진취성이 기술역량에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 소비재의 경우 위험추구성향과 혁신성만이 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 소비재에서는 혁신성, 진취성, 위험추구성향의 순으로 제품차별화 역량에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나, 산업재에서는 혁신성만이 부적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 기업역량이 수출성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면 산업재에서는 기술역량만이 재무적 성과와 전략적 성과에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나, 소비재에서는 기술역량, 제품차별화 역량 모두 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 국제기업가 성향이 직접적으로 재무적 성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 산업재에서는 진취성과 위험추구성향의 순으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 소비재에서는 혁신성, 진취성의 순으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 국제기업가 성향이 전략적 성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면 산업재에서는 위험추구성향만이 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나 소비재에서는 혁신성, 진취성, 위험추구성향의 순으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 국제기업가 성향이 직접 수출성과에 미치는 영향이 재무적 성과와 전략적 성과에서도 차이를 보여주었으며, 제품 유형에서도 차이가 있는 것으로 드러났다. 제품유형에 따라 국제기업가 성향이 기업역량에 미치는 영향, 기업역량이 수출성과에 미치는 영향, 국제기업가 성향이 수출성과에 미치는 영향이 다른 것으로 나타났으므로 국제화 성과를 높이기 위해서는 제품유형에 따라 다른 접근이 필요함을 시사한다.
