18세기 여성 의복에 나타난 트리밍을 응용한 네일아트 디자인 연구 - 브레이드, 레이스, 리본을 중심으로 - (A study on nail art design based on the application of trimmings in the 18th century women's clothes - Focus on braids, laces, and ribbons -)

  • Nail art, which has been popularized recently, has increased convenience in the direction of nail art design harmonized with clothing and the increased interest and usage of nail art decoration. This study set out to propose practical planar and three-dimensional nail art designs in harmony with modern clothes by applying trimmings common in 18th century women's clothing, which used a variety of attachable decorations. As for the methodology, the investigator examined theories in previous studies, literature, and analyzed the types of trimming in female portraits from the 18th century at the museum at the Palace of Versailles in France. Planar and three-dimensional nail art designs were created for each of the top three trimming types- braids, laces, and ribbons, which were identified through analysis. The study applied the trimmings of the 18th century women's clothes to nail art design and had the following results: First, the top three trimming types were identified based on the analysis of the 18th century portraits. They were then used as motifs in the production of planar and three-dimensional nail art designs. The results show that the motifs of the clothes trimmings were fit for and had practical possibilities for expression in nail art designs. Secondly, diversity and the expansion of ideas in the study of nail art design were promoted. In addition, elements were increased to have mutually complementary effects with clothes. Finally, the study made various attempts at nail design methods by adopting a range of nail art expression techniques including hand painting, 2D & 3D art techniques, and using planar and three-dimensional nail decorations, thus proposing a positive direction for the organization of a curriculum to make use of 18th century women's clothing motifs in nail art education.

중국 소수민족 묘족(苗族) 복식과 황평 납염 특성을 활용한 패션디자인 (Development of fashion design applying to costume and Huangping batik of the Chinese minority Miao)

  • The purpose of this study is twofold: First, to develop new sustainable design methods (aligned with ethnic elements and traditional culture) combined with three-dimensional digital clothing technology throughout the design process, which can be presented as guideline materials for various fashion designs to be developed in contemporary sensibilities. Second, it is the intention to produce creative fashion designs by incorporating the characteristics and methods of Miao's Huangping batik dyeing technique and to present various possibilities in the fashion design field. The overall design characteristics sought by Miao minority are in line with the complex terrain and the ecological and climatic conditions. Miaoist batik dyeing (registered as part of Chinese national intangible cultural heritage) features unique production methods and patterns. The study results are as follows. First, this attempt has enabled understanding of the national costume culture as Chinese Miao's traditional cultural heritage to be promoted, while the direction of contemporary design development using traditional elements has been presented. Second, the study demonstrated new and innovative expressions and styles relying on three-dimensional digital contouring technology and identified the possibility of developing various designs. Third, it was confirmed that the dyed batik pattern design created by the three-dimensional digital contouring technology could be recombined or expanded as digital printing to express the traditional ethnic designs in a practical manner utilizing digital printing techniques based on traditional characteristics.

발렌티노 드레스에 표현된 꽃이미지의 입체적 장식기법 (Three-dimensional Decorative Techniques of Flower Image Represented on Valentino Dress)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data of dress design by researching three-dimensional decorative techniques representing flowers, a popular motif in dress design. This study analyzed 44 dresses that were presented in Valentino collection. The result of this study is as follows: First, the detailing expression method can show various patterns and colors through embroidery technique, sub-materials, and bonding techniques in embroidery, beads flower, and ribbon flowers. Second, the fabric flower technique expressed flower image in three-dimension in more various images than do either the ribbon or beads flower technique. Fabric flowers are mostly made from the same material as dresses. The expression technique of fabric flower is classified into the following three classifications: 1) A technique underlying a flower image with one, two and three large flowers, 2) a technique decorating a large area with a number of an identical motif, and 3) a technique highlighting a part of the body or design line by attracting eyes to one point, creating a corsage decorated where a designer wants to emphasize. Third, a silhouette technique realizes a flower image with a silhouette of a dress like sculpted structure and it is thus used less than a detailing expression technique. A flower image is expressed by making use of body lines or emphasizing the face. Finally, flower images on a dress were realized as a full blossomed flower, through visually streamlined shapes and curved lines.

유니버설디자인을 위한 장애자의 체형 파악과 개인누드바디 연구 (The Study for Understanding the Disabled Body Figure and Individual Body Development of Universal Design)

  • Recently as the population of the disabled increased, interest and understanding toward them have deepened and the importance of universal design has risen. The purpose of this study is to understand the 3-dimensional body figure of the disabled by collecting a plaster figure using plaster dressing method and developing an individual nude body using FRP, with one female wheelchair user as the subject. The results of this study are as follows: First, 3-dimensional shape grasp about the figure of the obstacle person as is. Second, developing of individual nude body. Third, the presentation of the practical use idea of individual nude body. Last is the security of the basic document about the universal design. Uses the individual nude body in future and under producing boil a basic pattern and disabled person clothing.   • The functions of diaphragms at abutments and piers of PSC box girder railway bridge are to transfer forces from the superstructure onto bearings or columns and to stiffen the superstructure cross-section against in -plane deformation. Due to stress disturbance at diaphragm, the design for the diaphragm using conventional design method is relatively irrational than those for other structural members. And, due to contribution to boundary condition of deck slab by the diaphragm, the behavior of deck slab near the diaphragm is different from that of the deck slab obtained from two dimensional analysis of the bridge, which is basis for the design of deck slab. In this paper, three dimensional behavior of deck slab near the diaphragm of prestressed concrete (PSC) box girder railway bridge constructed by the precast span method are analyzed by using three dimensional finite element modeling and using the strut-and-tie model design of the diaphragm are presented. The modeling techniques used in this paper can be applied effectively to examine the causes of cracks at deck slab near diaphragm and to design diaphragm rationally.

Three-dimensional structural design based on cellular automata simulation

  • This paper describes the design scheme of the three-dimensional structures based on the concept of the cellular automata simulation. The cellular automata simulation is performed according to the local rule. In this paper, the local rule is derived in the mathematical formulation from the optimization problem. The cell density is taken as the design variable. Two objective functions are defined for reducing the total weight of the structure and obtaining the fully stressed structure. The constraint condition is defined for defining the local rule. The penalty function is defined from the objective functions and the constraint condition. Minimization of the penalty function with respect to the design parameter leads to the local rule. The derived rule is applied to the design of the three-dimensional structure first. The final structure can be obtained successfully. However, the computational cost is expensive. So, in order to reduce the computational cost, the material parameters $c_1$ and $c_2$ and the value of the cell rejection criterion (CRC) are changed. The results show that the computational cost depends on the parameters and the CRC value.

탄소저감형 다차원 도로선형설계를 위한 솔루션 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Solution Algorithm for Multi-dimention Road Alignment Design Considering Low-Carbon)

  • Government efforts for green growth policy initiatives demand low-carbon technologies in the road construction industry. The purpose of this paper is to develop an algorithm of a road alignment design solution for establishing the multi-dimensional information, and to calculate carbon emission quantity due to the geometric design elements in the planning phase of road alignment. The paper developed a calculation method for carbon emission quantity by drawing a speed profile reflected in the operating speed, acceleration and deceleration, which are majors factor of carbon emissions while driving and by applying a carbon emission factor. From this effort, it enabled alignment planning to reduce carbon emission. Object-based parametric design methods of the cross-sections were proposed for alignment planning, and the paper demonstrated a BIM-based road alignment planning solution. The proposed solutions can provide multi-dimensional information on carbon emission quantity and cross section elements through driving simulation. It is expected to allow construction of eco-friendly roads by deriving optimal road alignment to minimize environmental costs.
