  • This study examines implications for the Korean military health survey from literature review on foreign military health surveys. The authors discuss backgrounds, objectives, participants, methods, contents, organizations involved, and cycles of foreign military health surveys from literature review from peer-reviewed journals as well as reports and documents collected from web-sites of governmental organizations. Common and distinguishing characteristics were found from foreign military health surveys. First, the military health surveys have evolved in phases in the direction of reducing health risk factors. Second, the importance of mental health is being emphasized. Third, cooperations and collaborations of governments, universities, and professional agencies are important in order to ensure anonymity and expertise on data collection and analysis. Finally, health surveys are conducted on a regular basis through institutionalization. To monitor and to promote health of military personnel, it is critical for Korea to establish the legal and institutional environment and to recognize the importance as well as the need of military health surveys at the national level.

  • Globally, U-health services have been increased according to the increase in interests on health managing and the development of information communication technology (ICT) based on increases in advanced ages and chronic disease. Exiting U-health services provide required services and health information monitoring only through counsels and that represent limitations in preventing and managing cardiovascular disease patients like chronic patients. In this paper, we propose of U-health platform based health management service model using context information. In our service model can provide health monitoring, diet, and exercise service using context information of clinical information and wether in U-health platform environment. Service to offer is the specialized service using external content provider of DB. in addition to, doctor can to provide advice information to patient using monitoring service. The proposed service model provides effective services using context information in U-health platform environments to customers and that will improve the health of chronic patients.

  • The digitalization of our society has brought on the digitalization of housing design and human life. Thus, the concerns for developing digital home have increased. However, most of them has focused on digital technology, not human. This study was intended to examine the residents' housing needs for digital home and to suggest the design guidelines of digital home. The subjects were 400 housewives who lived and used internet in $85m^2$-sized housing unit in the new apartment complex, Busan. The important aspects in digital home design, the residents' needs for digital home design, and the needs for digital system in digital home were examined. The subjects were relatively young in their ages. Also, they had relatively high educational level and middle income. On the base of their housing needs for digital home, the design of digital home like as followings would be desirable: 1) the safe and secure design and digital system, 2) the design to improve residents' health and encourge family interaction, 3) human, warm, and soft interior mood, 4) space composition different from the existing one.

  • Recent days, the global warming problem due to excessive use of fossil fuels has been the world wide issue so that Korea government and developed countries make an alternative plan for eco-friendly and transportations by utilizing bicycles for health promotion. Existing Public Bicycle Rental Service Systems provide simple service such as bicycle rental management and tracking the location. However there is no user-side service for the information of the measure of carbon reduction, or use of bicycles. The proposed system in this paper provides users' health information, environmental information, personal information, counseling services and the measures of carbon reduction. The new system has been developed to carry out reducing carbon and growing green in terms of using bicycles by adopting Web 2.0 technology.

  • u-Health is a representative realization method of ubiquitous IT and it is being embossed as an industry that can make our lives abundant. Through the u-Health, the diagnosis will go beyond the restriction of space, which is based on hospital, and be positioned as a universal value in a daily life by combining diagnosis and life naturally. The purpose of this study is to suggest systematic, intelligent, mobile medical information system that has the same effect as the assistant of specialist by providing scientific and objective knowledge, which is suitable for u-Health age. Mobile medical information system can provide user with the opinion of specialist by planting the experience, knowledge and decision making process of specialist that are necessary for solving the problem requiring special medical knowledge and passing through an inference process.

  • In this paper, we have designed and implemented a personalized health training system which provides health training methods using 3D animation based on the data from a professional trainer, after a trainee inputs individual physical characteristics. Many trainers at fitness centers provide only sketchy training method and usage of fitness machines not appropriate training method for trainee's physical characteristics. Individual characteristics. Individual characteristics prepared tabular input which consists of exercise goals, exercise areas, whether or not the normal movement, and RM. The system provides the training methods, the effects of exercise, and the health training motions through searching the database more accurately.

  • Purposes: This study purposed to evaluate the effect of a value incentive program(VIP) on the in-hospital mortality of acute stroke. Methodology: Study period was from January 2010 to December 2018. This study included 63 hospitals for acute hemorrhagic stroke that the mortality rate per month was more than one during study period. Independent variables were time variables and hospital characteristics such as hospital type, district and bed number. Interrupted time series analysis was applied to analyze the data. Findings: In case of general hospitals, the in-hospital mortality rate per month for acute hemorrhagic stroke tends to be increased by 0.03% in overall study periods but decreased by 0.32% after the implementation of the policy. On the other hand, tertiary hospital changes are not statistically meaningful. Conclusion: This study provides evidences how the VIP was effective in improving quality of acute hemorrhagic stroke care. General hospitals showed higher policy effect compare to that of tertiary hospitals.

  • IoT-based services are being released in accordance with the aging population and the demand for well-being pursuit needs. In addition to medical device companies, companies with ideas ranging from global ICT companies to startup companies are accelerating their market entry. The areas where these services are most commonly applied are health/medical, life/safety, city/energy, automotive and transportation. Furthermore, by expanding IoT technology convergence into the area of life care services, it contributes greatly to the development of service models in the public sector. It also provides an important opportunity for IoT-related companies to open up new markets. By addressing the problems of life care services that are still insufficient. We are providing opportunities to pursue the common interests of both users and workers and improve the quality of life. In order to establish IoT-based digital life care services, it is necessary to develop convergence technologies using cloud computing systems, big data analytics, medical information, and smart healthcare infrastructure.

  • Recently, the bio-sensing information systems for collecting and analysing human body information of a patient in real time in the field of medical information and healthcare information service are continuously increasing. Specially, various wearable devices such as a wrist, a garment, and a skin attachment type for supporting health information of a mobile user are rapidly increasing. Until now, there is no patch-type biometric information service model. Therefore, this paper presents a biometric information system model and the application examples to support biometric information sensing and health information service of mobile user with digital patch system as a new biometric information system. As a result, through this research, research issues based on digital patch system are searched to suggest the direction of continuous research.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effect of self-efficiency on the relationship between grit, health perception and health promotion behaviors of nurses and to provide baseline data to improve health promotion. A structured questionnaire survey was carried on 242 nurses at an university hospital in D-city. The strong and positive effects of grit, self-efficiency and health perception on health promotion behaviors were found. Self-effica -cy had a perfect mediating effection the effects of grit on health promotion behavior and a partial mediating effect on the effects of health perception on health promotion behavior. The study results suggest the need for various intervention programs based on multiple factors associated with grit, health perception and self-efficiency in order to enhance health promotion behaviors of nurses.
