  • It is necessary to develop a next generation location referencing method with higher accuracy as advanced technologies such as autonomous vehicles require higher accuracy of location data. Thus, we proposed a framework for a lane-level location referencing method (L-LRM) based on high-precision digital road network map, and developed a tool which is capable of analyzing and evaluating the proposed method. Firstly, the necessity and definition of location referencing method was presented, followed by the proposal of an L-LRM framework with a fundamental structure of high-precision digital road network map for the method. Secondly, an architecture of the analysis and evaluation tool was described and then the Windows application program was developed using C/C++ programming language. Finally, we demonstrated the performance of the proposed framework and the application program using two different high precision digital maps with randomly generated road event data.

  • This study suggested a digital curation framework for supporting the digital policy of institutes that collect memory. As such, it conducted a literature review and an analysis of digital curation models, as well as a focus-group interview of historians and graduate students majoring in historical studies. In this study, digital curation framework refers to an abstract model for supporting policy development and the planning for a high-level view of the archival information service. This implications of this framework are as follows: (1) to emphasize the data life cycle and connection between stages and actions; (2) to make an infra-schema for understanding institutes that create, arrange, or store specific data as the same history contents have to be provided by different institutes and as there are differences in the data's value; (3) to check the present conditions of information services and their systems; (4) to consider the practical applications of contents that have been collected and stored; and (5) to converge all data in one system through the framework and activate diverse works in the context of the framework.

  • Korea's port infrastructure is rapidly aging, with old port facilities with more than 30 years of public life expected to surge from about 23% in 2019 to 47% in 2029. Traditional, aging ports lose competitiveness in logistics processing, reducing development around the port and increasing human casualties due to the human resource-based maintenance of the facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to solve this problem by establishing systematic management technology based on a digital twin. This research aimed to present the specific implementation steps of a digital twin reflecting smart port technology through cases of port infrastructure disasters, aging status, and smart ports. The study analyzed the port infrastructure linkage system and created and mapped scenarios essential for digital twin implementation. Three-dimensional (3D) modeling and simulation data for disaster and aging management among existing port infrastructure systems were collected. A digital twin port was implemented with 3D modeling. It implements a port digital twin simulation that links data such as sensing data and image data acquired from the port infrastructure in real time. Implementing a digital twin port for port infrastructure disasters and aging management can secure predictive port infrastructure management and disaster safety

  • Modeling 3D buildings is an essential process to revive the real world into a computer. There are two ways to create a 3D building model. The first method is to use the building layer of 1:1000 digital maps based on high density point data gained from airborne laser surveying. The second method is to use LiDAR point data with digital images achieved with LiDAR. In this research we tested one sheet area of 1:1000 digital map with both methods to process a 3D building model. We have developed a process, analyzed quantitatively and evaluated the efficiency, accuracy, and reality. The resulted differed depending on the buildings shape. The first method was effective on simple buildings, and the second method was effective on complicated buildings. Also, we evaluated the accuracy of the produced model. Comparing the 3D building based on LiDAR data and digital image with digital maps, the horizontal accuracy was within ${\pm}50cm$. From the above we derived a conclusion that 3D building modeling is more effective when it is based on LiDAR data and digital maps. Using produced 3D building modeling data, we will be utilized as digital contents in various fields like 3D GIS, U-City, telematics, navigation, virtual reality and games etc.

  • This is an experimental study to translate the Korean digital topographic maps into distributable information-hide objects, which are designed with object-oriented development's key features ; encapsulation, polymorphism, inheritance, In order to achieve this goal , the characteristics of the data mode and inter-relationships of digital topographic maps are investigated . As a result, it is revealed that the current Korean digital topographic maps, which is organized into so many individual layers of mixed spatial and attributed data, have to explicit and concrete hierarchies in spatial data model and data definition . Due to this limitation , data layer stage and object class stage are integrated. And ISCO(the is-computer -of relationships) mechanism is mainly used to develop the objects of digital topogrpahic maps, which is implemented with spatial primitive classes. the designed objects are coded with JAVA and then testified in web interface.

  • Digital Evidence Data in cyberspace is easy to modify or delete, and changes are reflected in real time, so it is necessary to acquire evidence data quickly. Collecting evidence on the client side is advantageous in that data can be acquired without time delay due to additional administrative procedures, but collection of large data is likewise vulnerable to collection time delay problem. Therefore, this paper proposes an automated evidence collection method on the client side, focusing on the major web-based services in cyberspace, and enables efficient evidence collection for large volumes of data. Furthermore, we propose a digital evidence collection system in cyberspace that guarantees the integrity of the collected digital evidence until the court submission.

  • In recent years, the construction industry is getting bigger and more complex, so it is becoming difficult to acquire point cloud data for construction equipments and workers. Point cloud data is measured using a drone and MMS(Mobile Mapping System), and the collected point cloud data is used to create a 3D digital map. In particular, the construction site is located at outdoors and there are many irregular terrains, making it difficult to collect point cloud data. For these reasons, adopting a noise reduction algorithm suitable for the characteristics of the construction industry can affect the improvement of the analysis accuracy of digital maps. This is related to various environments and variables of the construction site. Therefore, this study reviewed and analyzed the existing research and techniques on the noise reduction algorithm. And based on the results of literature review, performance evaluation of major noise reduction algorithms was conducted for digital maps of construction sites. As a result of the performance evaluation in this study, the voxel grid algorithm showed relatively less execution time than the statistical outlier removal algorithm. In addition, analysis results in slope, space, and earth walls of the construction site digital map showed that the voxel grid algorithm was relatively superior to the statistical outlier removal algorithm and that the noise removal performance of voxel grid algorithm was superior and the object preservation ability was also superior. In the future, based on the results reviewed through the performance evaluation of the noise reduction algorithm of this study, we will develop a noise reduction algorithm for 3D point cloud data that reflects the characteristics of the construction site.

  • The orthophto map is seen as the form of picture with the uniform reduced scale as the current terrain map. Thus it provides a reasonable feeling of scene and is easy to be interpreted. Furthermore, digital orthophoto is currently used as the basic terrain information data of the Geo-Spatial Information System(GSIS). Therefore, the orhtophoto map has high potential use as a future terrain map. This paper studies the method of producing orthophoto map by using the digital satellite imagery data taken from SPOT satellite of France. The production of orthophoto map requires the process of generating orthophoto imagery with digital elevation model, which process is called digital differential rectification. As the final accuracy of orthophoto map depends on that of digital elevation model, the precise and efficient production method of digital elevation model should be preceded. This study investigated the method of producing digital elevation model directly from SPOT satellite imagery and generated ortho-image by resampling the original SPOT imagery through digital differential rectification. Finally, Simple orthophoto map was made by overlaying the ortho-image and the contour map from digital elevation model.

  • The idea of digital photogrammetry was first introduced into the photogrammetric community in early 1960s'. At that time, it was impossible to implement the idea due to inferior computer and digital image processing technology With the recent advancements in computer hardware/software and image processing techniques, digital photogrammetry has made its entry into the field of photogrammetry. The advent of digital photogrammetry also resulted from the increasing amount of digital data acquired through satellites, CCD cameras and digital scanning of photographs. Obviously, the major distinction between conventional photogrammetry and digital photogrammetry lies in the nature of primary input data (analogue versus digital), which could lead to a fully automated digital photogrammetric workstation. However, since digital photogrammetry is in its infant stage, virtually every task is an unsolved problem due to lack of understanding of theories and techniques. Upon considering the increasing demand of efficient digital mapping method and economical GIS database generation, the union of GIS and digital photogrammetry becomes ever clear. In this paper, the author addresses the current status of digital photogrammetry such as digital imagery and digital photogrammetric workstation as well as the role of digital photogrammetry in GIS.
