  • The public concept of digital broadcasting is all about anytime, anywhere and anyone. It implies that the viewing rights of digital broadcasting have to be blessed with anyone, in anywhere and at anytime. Here anyone connotes the notion included visually and hearing impaired viewers as well as the non-disabled. Considering the current circumstance, which is a milestone of digital switchover by 2012, it seems destitute of the accessibility for the disabled. Hence this study is to manage the embodiment of broadcasting accessibility in digital interactive services originated from W3C for impaired viewers in order to cotton to the unlimited contents on digital television.

  • Recently, research started to focus on Digital Multimedia Broadcasting(DMB), while the DMB service is already being launched to provide high quality audio, video and data broadcasting in Korea. Therefore, the demand for multimedia contents is also rose very sharply. In this paper, we introduced an MPEG-4 contents authoring system with mobile device for Digital Multimedia Broadcasting. Our system allows both single-handed and collaborative authoring modo. Further more, to overcome the delaytime for decoding the BIFS information, we also introduced an efficient algorithm to generate dynamic and light BIFS information.

  • Most of digital media contents are composed with video and audio, picture and animation informations. Sometime, there is some deviation of information recognition quality for the video and audio information according to information receiver's characteristics or the understanding. But visual information using the text provide most clear and accurate ways for information recognition to human being. In this paper, we propose a new broadcasting system(BSDMC) to transmit clear and accurate meaning of the digital media contents. We implement general-purpose components to display the video, picture, text and symbol simultaneously. Only plug-in and call these components with proper parameters on the application developing tool, we can easily develop the multimedia contents broadcasting system. These components are implemented based on the object-oriented framework and modular structure so that increase the reusability and can be develop other applications quick and reliable.

  • The widespread use of the Internet brings about the issue regarding intellectual property and copyright. This paper describes DRM (Digital Rights Management) technologies and their related issues. Current approaches on DRM architecture are examined first. Based on the review, we discuss some security issues that would be essential to design security mood and architecture appropriate for DRM. Having these security issues in mind, we propose a new approach on DRM security architecture, based on our trust model.

  • This paper proposes the system and method for converting the contents based on DLNA. Digital Media Controller (DMC) compares the media format of content which Digital Media Server (DMS) provides with the media format which Digital Media Renderer (DMR) supports and then, the content is converted dynamically. The interaction between home devices can make a conversion of contents dynamically and it enables people to enjoy the multimedia contents they like to watch whenever/wherever they want.

  • In MPEG-21 Multimedia Framework, Digital Item (DI) is the minimum unit fur processing and delivering the multimedia contents. So how to process, manipulate and represent DI is a very important problem in the standpoint of interoperability for each terminal and provide., and Digital Item Processing (DIP) regarding this issue. This paper suggests technologies which are concerning how DIP should interact with other parts of MPEG-21 (Digital Item Adaptation (DIA), Intellectual Property Management and Protection (IPMP), etc.). For this concept, this paper uses the video summary contents which can describe the hierarchical structures of original multimedia contents. In MPEG-21 environment, the usage of this summary video is very useful delivery and consumption way in view of network burden, efficient accessing to contents.

  • In this paper, we propose a wavelet-based audio watermarking algorithm to be robust against capturing attack. Commercial capturing tools enable us to obtain audio contents without noticeable degradation in audio quality, and it is possible to be a source of illegal distribution. By adjusting mean values of the lowest subband in audio, the proposed method can survive after capturing attack including sampling rate conversion, random cropping and compression. By applying a simple human auditory model, the inaudibility of the watermark is achieved, and detection probability is improved based on the difference information. This is confirmed by experimental results.

  • Digital contents can be distributed via internet without qualify defect and this will bring a great loss to the contents provider. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate on the key exchanging protocol to protect the digital contents effectively. In this study we propose the key exchanging protocol based on password to send the digital contents efficiently. The stability suggested here is based on the difficulty of the discrete algebra and Diffie-Hellman problem and also it provides a secure safety against various attacks such as a guess attack on the password.
