This study explores three aspects of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners' digital confidence: information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, and digital content creation, based on the European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp). The participants were 150 Korean college students enrolled in two general English classes, and their English proficiency levels were from basic to advanced; each level consisted of 30 participants. In order to assess their digital confidence, I designed a Google survey form and collected data during two semesters. The survey results revealed that the participants had highest digital confidence in information and data literacy and overall, the female participants showed higher digital confidence than their male counterparts. It also showed that the learners' English proficiency and computer skills are important factors.

  • In this paper, we propose to develop a diagnosis tool for measuring digital competence for university student. To this end, 223 students participated for the survey research. Based on the survey by 6 domain and 40 questions, 6 factors and 18 questions for digital competence measurement were drawn throughout the factors analysis. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed the fact that 6 factors and 18 questions that satisfied the model-fit indexes statistically were finally confirmed. And the developed tool demonstrated good results in reliability and validity verification, which were suitable for measuring digital competence for university students. The developed measurement tool of digital competence for university students consisted of 6 sub-components such digital device operation, communication and collaboration, information searching, processing, and management, problem solving and learning, security, digital ethics. The digital competence measuring tool developed in this study is expected to be used to identify the current level of competences for university student, and to enhance their own digital competences through educational supports.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine elementary school teachers' perceptions of digital textbooks to gain insight into the development of digital textbooks. To this end, first, eight functions of the digital textbook were set, and two to six detailed functions were set for each function. Afterwards, based on this function, 372 elementary school teachers across the country were asked to ask about their perception of digital competence, their experience of using digital textbooks after COVIE-19 and their perception of digital textbooks. A simple regression analysis was used to examine the perception of digital textbooks according to the perception of digital competence and a one-way distribution analysis method was used to analyze the perception of digital textbooks according to the experience of using digital textbooks. The analysis found that elementary school teachers' confidence in their digital competence had a positive effect on all components of digital textbooks. In particular, the teachers' higher confidence in digital competence led to the increased need for 'operation and management' functions. In addition, the teachers who frequently use digital textbooks perceived a higher need for digital textbook components except for 'searching' and 'Authoring Tools Support' than teachers who do not use them. This paper shows that it is necessary to positively induce elementary school teachers' perceptions of digital competence and encourage using digital textbooks to successfully increase the usage of digital textbooks in classes.

The structure of digital competence of agricultural master was analyzed on the basis of domestic and foreign scientists researches. Systematized research results indicate that digital competence consists of four components: motivational-value (combination of internal and external motives for the use of digital technologies in future professional activities), cognitive (a set of theoretical knowledge, skills and abilities of future master of industrial training to effectively build educational process with the use of digital technologies), activity-professional (expansion and deepening of knowledge, skills, necessary skills for effective implementation of digital technologies in the educational process) and evaluative-reflexive (ability to analyze and self-analyze own activities and its results taking into account professional characteristics, self-realization in professional activities through the use of digital technologies). These components are comparable with the indicators that describe the knowledge, skills and abilities needed by the future master of industrial training to organize the modern educational process. A questionnaire was conducted to determine the levels of this competence formation, which allows us to conclude that it is necessary to increase the level of formation of all components of digital competence of future masters of industrial training in agriculture. The results of the study can be used as a basis for the development of disciplines that form the special competencies of masters of industrial training in agriculture and programs of advanced training of teachers.

  • This study aimed to develop a self-reporting assessment tool for digital literacy competence to use it as a tool for self-diagnosis or effectiveness verification in educational programs, considering that digital literacy competence is one of the core competencies for the present and future society. Based on the previous research on digital literacy competence, the tool was developed with 45 question items of 2 areas and 8 factors. The results of an exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis conducted to determine suitability were generally satisfactory based on the assessment data from about 3,000 middle school students. The assessment tools developed in this study are primarily applicable to primary and secondary school and adult education. In future research, if the system is developed to be accessible to anyone online based on this tool, and the accumulated data provide educational information for each individual's self-development, it will greatly contribute to improving the digital literacy competence of the people.

  • Purpose: Drawing on person-environment fit theory and social cognitive theory, this study aimed to examine how self-efficacy affects nurses' workplace well-being via person-job fit and the moderating role of digital competence. Methods: A two-wave survey was conducted to collect data. Data were collected from six hundred and ninety-five nurses at three Chinese hospitals between May 2022 and September 2022. We employed hierarchical regression analysis and bootstrapping to analyze the data. Results: Self-efficacy positively influenced person-job fit (β = .55, p < .001), which positively affected nurses' workplace well-being (β= .32, p < .001). Person-job fit mediated the effect of self-efficacy on nurses' workplace well-being. Additionally, digital competence strengthened the positive impact of self-efficacy on person-job fit (β = .12, p < .001). Conclusion: Recruiting nurses with both self-efficacy and digital competence benefits hospitals. It is critical for nurses to improve their digital competence for achieving person-job fit and attaining workplace well-being in the post-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) era.
