  • While the society becomes older, the quality growth on the service adequate to seniors is required. The service design is highlighted as a measure to improve the quality of service. And actually, success cases through the service design in various areas are globally introduced. In this study, a research is conducted to develop a service scenario to expand seniors' communication by applying the service design methodology. To analyze seniors' behaviors related to the communication, profiles are established by performing interviews with professionals and the qualitative survey to seniors. And based on the profiles, an idea workshop is conducted with multi-disciplinary experts to develop ideas for seniors' communication. The representative service is drawn by refining ideas. And the detailed service scenario and the video prototype are developed by concentrating one service scenario. The developed service scenario is anticipated to be utilized as a base material to develop services to expand seniors' communication in the future.

  • In spite of The exterior design of buildings has a remarkably significant value in terms of public aspect some exposed architectural equipments spoil the appearance of building. The design elements of exposed architectural equipments were partially changed and assessed in the semantic differential method. Thus the aesthetically favorable impression and values of public interest were able to be increased. The reasons why those hideous exposed architectural equipments were constructed, seemed to be as follows; the builders' selfishness, the citizens' ignorance and the immature social institutions that cannot restrict undesirable design efforts. Building equipments located outside are not classified as major elements in building regulations and thus can be installed and altered without any limitations even though they have great effects on the shape and colors of a building. So we have more interest in exposed architectural equipments and more deliberation of exterior design of a building.

  • In this study based on BIM(Building Information Modeling) apply for performing efficient remodeling project and utilized. And this study will examine a real project where a BIM based process was used in the remodeling of an single-family homes. In the remodeling design phase of the planning process was conducted for the BIM process modeling, BIM in the remodeling stage while performing the required range and level of the remodeling process were studied. Based on this, communication between client and remodeling designer, participants more expect that smooth and speeds up in remodeling. For client decision support, troubleshooting of remodeling of the design process to be effective in the BIM have been identified. The BIM model and deliverables data used for the remodeling design process of building remodeling is the most effective way, due to the increased efficiency gained in many areas.

  • As various materials and new methods can be used due to developments in science and expansion of thinking, modern architectural color composes extensive possibilities exceeding its physical role of the past. In particular, rather than the initial external expression, the secondary connotative interpretation is more important in interpreting architectural color. This is because color interpretation changes the meaning of space based on light. Also, the development of digital technology has shifted the use of architectural color from passive realization to a more proactive concept and value. In other words, such shift leads to a new discussion on architectural color such as non-representation, invisibility, and non-physicality as the concept of fixed time, space and movement has been weakened. This paper begins by conceptualizing the digital space, a term widely used to interpret the architectural color of digital space. And it will be categorized as non-representational architectural color, invisible architectural color, and non-physical architectural color, by combining the characteristics of digital space with the modern architecture's color examples. Digital space overcoming the space time is differently interpreted from the past color expression. Modern architecture's color which substitutes the passive view with active body takes a role delivering various axes of discussions with synaesthesia.

  • The purpose of the weapon live test during the phase of development is to provide essential information to decision makers that verify and validate the performance capabilities of weapons. Due to varying allocation and high variance of test resources with an increase in the weapon system's capability, the test environment can get highly complex, which can lead to a decrease in the reliability of test results. This issue can be addressed by applying a decision support system that provides various timely information collected by resources during the test process. The decision support system can be designed by applying the concept of digital twins, that are defined as digital replicas of components, systems and processes. This paper describes a design methodology of the decision support system that consists of digital models and service functions using digital twin architecture. A case study illustrates the feasibility of the proposed methodology in supporting the weapon live test process.

  • With the development of digital technology, people's lives are becoming increasingly comfortable and convenience. But with the rapid technological development, people feel tired of a modern society, so they became interested in basic human value and the design with human emotion This design is defined as the analog design concept to stimulate human emotions in previous studies, this approach considering the psychological and physical characteristics of the people has been attempted. This study is to consider about the concepts and consequent design elements for analog emotional expression through the prior analysis of the study In particular, understanding the architecture environment transformed into objects that interact and communicate with humans, this study focused on architectural space. The purpose of this study is to provide advice on the basic research of the field by analyzing the value and significance of the analog design in the digital society.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the organizational design and management of product development in creating new product architecture by an established firm. For the purpose, the paper put up the organizational design in the process of PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) development of Sharp and Casio which were Japanese major PDA firms in 1990s. PDA is the product born through architectural change from Electronic Organizer. Prior research on the product architecture change and organizational adaptation emphasized that an established firm is difficult to adapt to new product architecture due to the restriction of prior technology or organizational inertia. For overcoming these problems and successful development of new product architecture, organizational design and management in the process of product development becomes essential. In case of Sharp, corporate development project team had been used to overcome the restrictions from architectural knowledge accumulated through previous product. After launching first new PDA by corporate development project team, Sharp created a new division and pushed an evolution of PDA, when new PDA market start to grow up rapidly toward a major market segmentation. As a result, Sharp was able to build up stable PDA project trajectory. However, Casio was late for three years in launching of new PDA architecture because previous division charging of Electronic Organizer tried to develop first new PDA. Casio's PDA development was prohibited by engineers of previous division because new PDA architecture was inferior on user interface and display definition. That is, Casio's first PDA development was restricted by architectural knowledge of previous product.

  • In recent days, global shipbuilding companies have been increasing their productivity or expanding their shipyards for a large amount of orders. Though, few researches about the shipyard layout designs have been studied. This research presents a simulation-based shipyard layout design framework to resolve the problems of the shipyard layout design. The shipyard layout design framework was developed on the basis of systems engineering method. The disciplined system engineering technique was guided by ISO/IEC 15288 during the planning phase of the shipyard layout design framework development. This framework suggests that how efficient and effective shipyard layout design could be got, that can satisfy the stakeholder of the layout. Furthermore, it is recommended that how the proposed shipyard layout should be verified and validated by digital simulation model. It is expected that the framework will contribute to not only the improvement of the existing shipyard but also the construction of the new shipyard.

  • This paper reports on a single-inductor multiple-output step-up converter with digital control. A systematic analog-to-digital-controller design is explained. The number of digital blocks in the feedback path of the proposed converter has been decreased. The simpler digital pulse-width modulation (DPWM) architecture is then utilized to reduce the power consumption. This architecture has several advantages because counters and a complex digital design are not required. An initially designed unit-delay cell is adopted recursively for the construction of coarse, intermediate, and fine delay blocks. A digital limiter is then designed to allow only useful code for the DPWM. The input voltage is 1.8 V, whereas output voltages are 2 V and 2.2 V. A co-simulation was also conducted utilizing PowerSim and Matlab/Simulink, whereby the 55 nm process was employed in the experimental results to evaluate the performance of the architecture.
