Analysis of the Level of Technological Development and Digital Readiness of Scientific-Research Institutes

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of science and technology development and digital readiness of scientific research institutes based on the author's assessment methodology (a set of evaluations and multifactorial indicators). Keeping with the previous literature, the research is caused by the novelty of the problem, which suggests dividing the literature review into two main research groups: theoretical background, which concentrates on the digital readiness definition, and the impact of digital readiness on science. Moreover, the scientific significance lies in the fact that proposed ideas in the research, developed theoretical and methodological provisions can significantly enrich theories related to the identification of the digital readiness of science and its consumers. Further, the research is devoted to the development of assessment methods of digital changes and analysis of the level of development of digital readiness of scientific research institutes, which is based on the author's assessment methodology (a set of evaluations and multifactorial indicators). The methodology provides an opportunity to build ratings of the digital readiness of scientific-research institutes to the formation and development of a digital economy. Obtained results show that the priority task in the current and the future period is to increase the authority and recognition of scientific organizations, the quality of scientific research, and the formation of demand for scientific products.

  • 급속한 정보기술의 발전과 정보사회로의 전환은 한국이 지식정보강국으로 나아가는데 많은 기여를 하고 있다. 그러나 이처럼 정보사회가 본격적으로 도래함에 따라 사회제반 부문간의 정보격차 문제가 중요한 이슈로 떠오르고 있다. 지식정보화시대 지역간, 계층간 정보격차를 완화하기 위해 사회적 안전망으로서의 도서관의 공공서비스 기능이 더욱 요구되고 있다. 다양한 컨텐츠를 최소의 비용으로 제공함으로써 이용자들의 정보접근에의 기회균등을 보장하는 것이 중요한 도서관의 역할의 일부가 된 것이다.

  • This study is performed to examine the relationships between trust and antecedents in cyberspace. Trust is the major control system in cyberspace. Different time, different spaces, different cultures, indistinct boundaries, flexible structure, separation of information from matters, cybernetics, difficulty of control are differential characteristics between cyberspace and physical space. Providing fit information, use of effective electronic channels, previous trust management, feedback system about output, flexible culture, self-regulation, off-line meeting, providing information about tasks and roles, ability, and justice are supposed to have effects on trust in cyberspace. By electronic mediated systems, the company will have more business opportunity. But trust will be conditional factors of expanding business in cyberspace.

  • In this modern digital era, there are very vigorous arguments about digital and media aesthetics throughout culture and art on the basis of new transferring of recognition about the art-media's characteristics. Therefore, this paper tries to discover the art-media's characteristics and aesthetic value that are included in contemporary digital fashion through studying the fusion between digital and fashion. The purpose of this research is to offer positive and evolutive opportunity of artistic thinking to make the meeting between fashion and media suggest the future generation, adaptation and recognition in the media - developmental environment that will be deeper and more fueling. In the area of research method, this paper takes the method of theoretical research by referring national and foreign literatures and preceding research-papers, and carries out investigation and analysis about digital fashion for the last 10 years. The results of this study; The art-media's characteristics of modern digital fashion are virtuality, immateriality and characteristics of multimedia. The aesthetic values can be classified with four kinds of properties. First is hybridity initiated from multi-media that creates works; the second is infinite reproductivity initiated from the characteristics of the multi media and the digital carrier. Thirdly, there is also interactivity appeared all over the area of production, adaptation and perception caused by non-linearity and immateriality. Finally there is synesthesia that can extend the capability of sense through digital media.

  • With the expansion of internet diffusion, the digital content industry in such sector game, animation and e-learning shows rapid growth and, accordingly it becomes important for policy makers to provide its technical R&D directions ensuring successful commercialization. This paper provides details on the business and industry assessment, and further, proposes substantial support over industries as well as academia. The Business Opportunity Engineering(BOE) process, revised and systemized assessment frame of the seven steps of SRIC-BI process, has been applied to assess and compare the digital content business and industry.

Expression Trend and Characteristics of Pixel in Contemporary Fashion (현대패션에 나타난 픽셀의 표현 경향과 특성)

  • This study examined the pixel's expression trend and nature featured in contemporary fashion, which works as a basic unit symbolizing the digital image, paying attention to its formativeness. The work through this process aimed at suggesting an opportunity for recognition about pixel image utilized as a formative component beyond its simple meaning of unit and providing the fundamental materials for usage in creative fashion design reflecting the digital emotion in the future, In research method, literature review was followed on pixel and the empirical study about its image was also performed that was found in the modern fashion. As a result, the trend in pixel has these characteristics. Its first nature lies in its plane expression. It was printed as mosaic or graphic grid image or expressed through patchwork technique. Also, rather than a certain form or figure, its unique image was emphasized according to the applied color, size, and position. Second, a stepwise pattern in pixel was applied to external format for part of clothing, eye glass and necktie, indicating some interest and wit. Third, in application to plane and external shape, the graphically modernized effect was realized, not to mention the illusive image with cubic expression. As shown, the characteristics in contemporary fashion via pixel expression were given in fantastic image, optical humor, and reflection of digital value.

  • In Korea, the situation to use a Information Communication Technology(In) was rapidly developed that the subscriber using CDMA mobile phone are about 3,601 ten thousand and the subscriber of very high-speed service for Internet using ADSL etc., are about 1,161 ten thousand, the base June, 2004. However, nevertheless the development of In and more rapid increase of subscriber, a farming, finishing villages and an islands are being exist a sharp difference of digital divide compare with a big city because of geometrical, economical reasons. In this paper, to put empasis in an Islands that the alienation class of Information are many exist, relatively small opportunity of information access because of geometrical, economical reasons, 1 search a ICT for Information Communication Network and propose a plan for Solution of Digital Divide of an Islands.

  • Some games distract the player's immersion on purpose through the progression and direction of the game, thereby giving them an opportunity for rational awareness. In this paper, we tried to analyze the characteristics and types of alienation strategies of digital games. So we investigated the anti-immersive property of the game with the effect of Brecht 's alienation and proposed three strategic types of digital games that cause the anti-immersive effect into 'disturbance of sensory information', 'reversal of narrative and overturning of genre' and 'limitation of experience'.
