A Comparative Analysis of Virtual Advertising and PPL: Focusing on Consumer Evaluation of Advertising Attributes and Ad Effectiveness (가상광고와 간접광고에 대한 비교 연구: 광고속성과 광고효과를 중심으로)

  • With the rapid growth in the use of digital advertising media among consumers, there is an increasing interest in the utilization of virtual advertising and PPL as an alternative to traditional television advertising. Nonetheless, few studies have compared the effects of these new advertising platforms, still lacking knowledge on their relative effects for maximizing advertising effectiveness. This study, thus, intends to compare virtual advertising and PPL with respect to advertising effectiveness (i.e., consumer evaluations of advertising attributes, brand attitudes, and purchase intentions), controlling for the level of product involvement. An experiment was conducted with a sample of 360 participants and actual ads were used as test stimuli. According to the results, consumers exhibit more favorable evaluations on all the three advertising attributes (i.e., entertainment, informativeness, and irritation) for high-involvement products, whereas, for low-involvement products, virtual advertising is perceived to be more irritating than PPL. In particular, the effect of informational value of virtual advertising on brand attitudes was found to be most significant. In addition, for high-involvement products, virtual advertised products. Advertising practitioners may have to consider these results and fully utilize the advantages of virtual advertising and PPL in order to achieve maximum advertising effectiveness.

  • In recent years, IPTV attracts great attention along with the digital convergence of communication and media technologies. IPTV combines the advantages of TV and Internet and changes our lifestyle dramatically. In addition, the IPTV service is capable of becoming a new business model which has huge growth potentials in technology-converging marketplaces. This study examines critical factors on the consumer's adoption of the IPTV service. Based on the Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), IPTV specific attributes and personal characteristics, we derive eight key factors in the research model. compatibility, ease of use, image, diversity of contents, interactivity, monetary value, social influence, and user satisfaction. Using the partial least square (PLS) method on the data collected through a web-based survey, we test our research model with several hypotheses. From this study, we find that diversity of contents, compatibility and interactivity have a significant indirect effect on the use of IPTV service via user satisfaction, and user satisfaction and social influence also have a significant direct impact on the IPTV use. These findings not only provide practical insights on the consumer acceptance of new technology-converging services, but also help managers to plan their marketing strategies better.

Tension Control Using Adaptive PID Controller in the Two-Drum Winder Web Transport System (Two-Drum Winder 권취 공정 시스템에서의 적용 PID 제어기를 이용한 장력제어)

  • In this paper, we developed modeling of tension and speed dynamics for a two-drum winder in a three span continuous web transport system which had not been previously. Dynamic modeling of the time-varying nonlinear system was derived by considering the effect of the radii and mass moment of inertia in the unwinder and the two-drum winder through winding up the web. After linearizing it, we designed with a variable-gain a PID controller for tension control and a PI controller for speed. Simulation is carried out with the variation of radii and moment of inertia at high speed for the proposed tension control system with the two-drum winder and the variavle-gain a PID controller. Results show good performance of tension control during the speed change speed at a start-up and stop.

  • In the decoding process of interframe Wavelet coding, the Wavelet transform requires huge computational complexity. Since the decoder may need to be used in various devices such as PDAs, notebooks, or PC, the decoder's complexity should be adapted to the processor's computational power. So, it is natural that the low complexity codec is also required for scalable video coding. In this paper, we develop a method of controlling and lowering the complexity of the spatial Wavelet transform while sustaining the same coding efficiency as the conventional spatial Wavelet transform. In addition, the proposed method may alleviate the ringing effect for slowly changing image sequences.

  • The rapid growth and influence of digital technologies have had a profound effect on modern society. Companies and businesses can connect through SNS(social network service accounts). The importance of mass media empowers the creation of virtual images that are more realistic than time and space. Unlike traditional reproduction or imitation, the virtual images created in this way are reproduced in a form that lacks the original inspiration's essence. Jean Baudrillard described this phenomenon as the theory of simulation. Baudrillard argued that imitated simulated images replace reality. He stated that reality is lost under excessive images in modern society. In response, based on an understanding of the theory of hyper-reality that emerged through the late stages of the order of simulacre, this study aimed to analyze modern fashion's method of reproducing hyper-real images and investigate the method's characteristics. This study examined the characteristics of hyper-reality described by Baudrillard and analyzed the method of artistic expression of hyper-reality. Based on this method of expression, reproducibility, following the stages of image simulation, was derived. A specific case applied to fashion was analyzed, and based on the image reproduction method, specific characteristics of hyper-reality characteristics in fashion were obtained. Sixty-four collections were selected, out of which 155 images and 43 brands demonstrated the principles of image transformation.

  • MSMEs encountered several issues during the COVID-19 pandemic, including decreased sales and capital, difficulties in distribution, trouble obtaining raw materials, decreased production, and employee layoffs. These issues posed a threat to the national economy. The final effect was the company's bankruptcy as a result of its failure to survive a pandemic, which led to the company's downfall. This research aims to find out and analyze MSMEs' business strategy and innovation to maintain their business during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. This research is qualitative. Researchers got data using interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis of this research is descriptive. To draw customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, MSMEs use social media or digital marketing, followed by the delivery of orders, promotions, or discounts and the creation of freebies. MSMEs develop new products as part of their ongoing efforts to expand their businesses while upholding standards for quality, value, and customer service. They also adapt to changing consumer tastes and popular food trends while showcasing some of their most intriguing products.

A Study on Selection Attributes of Luxury Goods in Online Stores of MZ Generation: Focusing on the Moderating Effects of Consumer Value

  • Purpose: This research aims to study the selection attributes influencing the purchasing decisions of the MZ generation in online luxury stores and explores the moderating effects of consumer value. The research aims to validate the impact of reasonable pricing, brand reliability, product variety, comprehensive product information, and user-friendly interfaces on customers' decision to purchase products from online luxury stores. Research design, data and methodology: A survey was conducted with 101 participants, and data analysis included exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, as well as covariance structure model analysis. Results: The findings reveal that brand trust, product variety, and information sufficiency significantly influence brand affect, which in turn influences purchase intention. Additionally, the study identifies that consumers prioritizing hedonic value are more influenced by brand trust and information, while those prioritizing utilitarian value are more responsive to factors like reasonable price, product variety, and ease of use. Conclusions: The study provides insights into the preferences and behaviors of the MZ generation, highlighting their digital proficiency, mobile-centric lifestyle, desire for product variety, price-consciousness, social media influence, and the availability of personalized shopping experiences as factors contributing to their preference for online luxury stores. These findings contribute to understanding consumer behavior and decision-making processes in the context of online luxury shopping.

A Study on China's SNS Opinion Leader through Social Data (소셜 데이터를 통한 중국의 여론 주도층에 관한 연구)

  • The rapid development of the Chinese version of Twitter, the groom Weibo has become an important communication means for Chinese SNS users to obtain and share information. As a result, in China, the phenomenon of the power shift has emerged from the traditional opinion leaders to SNS opinion leasers. The relationship analysis of demographic variables of the Chinese SNS users and their Information on the relationship between keywords was made by utilizing the centrality analysis using Social Network Program NetMiner. China's SNS opinion leaders have general interest in daily activities with their families or friends rather than in social issues. And in case of SNS opinion leaders of high betweenness centrality, it was analyzed that general users was a key mediator role that organically out lead to the adjacent information. These properties are not independent of demographic variables, such as professional, therefore, the demographic characteristics of SNS opinion leaders showed a significant effect on the parameters of betweenness centrality. This study analyzed the characteristics of SNS users, especially opinion leaders in China by looking at the aspects of Chinese social phenomenon in terms of information. Through this study, we expect to provide basic information about the social characteristics of China through collective communication.

Colour Appearance Modelling based on Background Lightness and Colour Stimulus Size in Displays (디스플레이에서 배경의 밝기와 색채 자극의 크기에 따른 컬러 어피어런스 모델링)

  • This study was conducted to reproduce digital colour based on the lightness of the background and size of the colour stimulus so that colour can be similarly perceived under different conditions. With the evolution of display technologies, display devices of various sizes can now reproduce more accurate colour and enhanced images, thus affecting the overall quality of display images. This study reproduced digital colour by considering the visual characteristics of the digital media environment. To accomplish this, we developed a colour appearance model which distinguishes the properties of foveal and peripheral vision. The proposed model is based on existing research on the lightness of the background and size of the colour stimulus. Based on experimental results, an analysis of variance was performed in order to develop the colour appearance model. The algorithm and modelling were verified based on the proposed model. In addition, to apply this model to display technologies, a practical colour control system and a method for handling complex input images were developed. Through this research, colour conversion errors which might occur when the input image is converted to fit a specific display size are resolved from the perspective of the human visual system. As a result, more accurate colour can be displayed and enhanced images can be reproduced.

The Effect of consumer characteristics on purchasing Creating Shared Value products : Focusing on social-psychological variables and value congruency in the decision-making of cosmetics purchases (소비자의 특성이 공유가치창출 제품 구매에 미치는 영향 : 화장품 구매의사결정에 미치는 사회심리학적 변인과 가치일치성을 중심으로)

  • This study focuses on the individual characteristics of consumers and creating shared value in relation to recent increasing value consumption. Specifically, it was intended to verify what socio-psychological variables of consumers affect value congruency and product purchase intentions in relation to cosmetics products based on creating shared value activities. In order to verify hypothesis, an online survey was conducted, and the main and mediate effects of the variables were verified through SPSS' Process Macro method. As a result of empirical analysis, the higher the ethical identity, altruism, and consumer effectiveness, the higher the value congruency. Altruism and consumer effectiveness had a positive impact on purchase intentions. We also find that value congruency has a significant mediating effect on the effect of socio-psychological variables on purchase intention. The results of this study provide practical values and implications for companies' need to emphasize consumers' consumption behavior as it can have a significant positive impact on society. It also suggests the importance of finding out what values consumers seek. In other words, this study can provide strategic implications for public relations plans when performing marketing activities by utilizing the values pursued by CSV in companies. Future research will provide strategic implications for promotional measures when marketing is carried out if the consumer's segment is further refined to verify the effectiveness of creating shared value.
