  • In the current era of digital technology, and with the help of existing software, digital photo manipulation is becoming easier and faster. One example of this is the development of powerful image processing software that makes it easy for a digital image to be manipulated and edited. It is therefore very important to protect and maintain public trust in digital images. Several methods have been developed to detect image manipulation. In this paper, we compare two methods for detecting image duplication due to copy-move actions, namely the polar coordinate system and the histogram of oriented gradients methods. The former is a method based on the transfer of a Cartesian image to a polar form, making it easy to tell whether there are objects that have undergone a copy/move in an image, while the latter is a method for retrieving information related to the distribution, which uses a target in the local area as a tool to represent the shape of the target. We compare the accuracy, speed and memory usage of these two methods.

  • Illegal manipulation and alteration of digital content are becoming a social issue. To address this problem, there is an increasing demand for the development of technologies to prevent the manipulation and alteration of digital content. This paper proposes a data hiding algorithm capable of embedding a larger amount of confidential data in the original cover image while minimizing the degradation of image quality in stego images. The algorithm presented in this paper analyzes the characteristics of the image to extract corner points and then uses a method to insert watermarks around these extracted corner points. Additionally, through experimentation, it has been proven that this algorithm can insert a greater amount of watermark without degrading the image quality compared to other existing algorithms.

  • By applying artificial intelligence to image editing technology, it has become possible to generate high-quality images with minimal traces of manipulation. However, since these technologies can be misused for criminal activities such as dissemination of false information, destruction of evidence, and denial of facts, it is crucial to implement strong countermeasures. In this study, image file and mobile forensic artifacts analysis were conducted for detecting image manipulation. Image file analysis involves parsing the metadata of manipulated images and comparing them with a Reference DB to detect manipulation. The Reference DB is a database that collects manipulation-related traces left in image metadata, which serves as a criterion for detecting image manipulation. In the mobile forensic artifacts analysis, packages related to image editing tools were extracted and analyzed to aid the detection of image manipulation. The proposed methodology overcomes the limitations of existing graphic feature-based analysis and combines with image processing techniques, providing the advantage of reducing false positives. The research results demonstrate the significant role of such methodology in digital forensic investigation and analysis. Additionally, We provide the code for parsing image metadata and the Reference DB along with the dataset of manipulated images, aiming to contribute to related research.

  • Digital image watermarking is a technology used in copyrighting of digital images by embedding unremovable informations. In this paper, a pixel-domain look-up-table-based watermarking algorithm is presented. With this methodology, the watermark was embedded in the host image, but we did not observe any distortion at certain specific region of interest. This means the proposed method is preferred in case of satellite images. Then, the image manipulation tool which is called 'StirMark' will be used to perform many kinds of attacks such as rotation, scaling, filtering and compression on the watermarked image. Finally, the effectiveness of a watermarking technique in terms of 'robustness' and 'data integrity' criteria will be measured by calculating PSNR of watermark and watermarked image.

  • In this paper, the multi-channel high speed data acquisition system is implemented. This high speed signal processing system for 3-D image display is applicable to the manipulation of a medical image processing, multimedia data and various fields of digital image processing. In order to convert the analog signal into digital one, A/D conversion circuit is designed. PCI interface method is designed and implemented, which is capable of transmission a large amount of data to computer. In order to, especially, channel extendibility of images acquisition, bus communication method is selected. By using this bus method, we can interface each module effectively. In this paper, 32-channel A/D conversion and PCI interface system for 3-dimensional and real-time display of the retina image is developed. The 32-channel image acquisition system and high speed data transmission system developed in this paper is applicable to not only medical image processing as 3-D representation of retina image but also various fields of industrial image processing in which the multi-point realtime image acquisition system is needed.

  • Digital watermarking was developed to protect copyright by discouraging the illegal copying of digital content. On the other hand, recently, watermarking has also been used to verify the integrity of digital content, such as medical images, and detect illegal manipulation or distortion locations. Watermarking should be tenacious so as to protect copyright from illegal copying and should remain firm to the content through a range of attacks, such as distortion or filtering. At the same time, however, it should be removed easily even in a slight transformation of the material to verify the integrity. Therefore, this paper proposes a watermarking technique that easily checks and verifies the deformation or manipulation of digital images. In the proposed method, the entire image was examined in $16{\times}16$ blocks to check for deformation of the image. When deformation was detected, further inspection proceeded in $4{\times}4$ blocks and the location where deformation occurred was identified.

  • Although digital image has many advantages including digital image compression and various image processing techniques, the it has the weakness of easy manipulation which led to the development of many digital watermarking techniques. There are various types of digital watermarking algorithms for spatial and spectral domains. This paper presents a watermarking implementation for H.264/AVC codec which is adapted for many multimedia standards.

  • Digital image manipulation software is now readily available on personal computers. It is therefore very simple to tamper with any image and make it available to others. Therefore. copyright protection of digital contents and insurance of digital image integrity become major issues. In this paper, we propose a hybrid watermarking method to identify locations of tampered region as well as copyright. Our proposed algorithms embed the PN-sequence into low frequency sub-band of the wavelet transform domain and it doesn't need the original image in extraction procedure. The experimental results show good robustness against any signal processing with tamper detection on still image.

  • Color enhancement basically deals with color manipulation in digital images. Recently, the technique has become widely used as a result of the increasing use of digital cameras. Retinex-based colorenhancement algorithms are a popular technique. In this paper, retinex with bilateral filtering is proposed to improve the quality of poorly illuminated images. Generally, it consists of three main steps: first, a retinex-based algorithm with color restoration; second, transformation mapping using histogram matching; and finally, smoothing the image using a bilateral filter. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can successfully enhance image contrast while avoiding the halo effect and maintaining the color distribution in the image.

  • The existing watermarking techniques for copyright protection of a digital image are fragile in geometric distortion and it is hard to detect whether it was manipulated artificially. In this paper, we proposed the new copyright protection system that can authorize a digital mage and :an embed or extract a robust watermark in a artificial manipulation in order to solve these problems. In a watermarking part, the proposed a watermarking technique embeds a watermark in a phase component after a Complex Wavelet Transform (CWT) with an original image, and a watermark is extracted from an watermarked image by stages. A copyright about an image can be insisted on than a threshold after comparing a correlation of an original watermark with an extracted watermark if large. In an authentication part of a digital image, EZW (Embedded Zerotree Wavelet) is used, and an authentication cord of an watermarked image is generated. An authentication code of an image to have been distribute to is compared with a generated authentication cord, and artificial operation isn´t than a threshold if large. The proposed copyright protection system through performance evaluation display that it was robust in geometric distortion and a artificial operation was able to be detected.
