  • The domestic fashion industry is not able to exceed the level of fashion that exists in advanced countries due to the relatively weak design competitiveness and the differentiated capability of product development. In order for the domestic fashion industry to become a growth industry that is valued in the world market of infinite competition, a step-by-step support system that can demonstrate and maintain the creative ability of designers is needed. Therefore, this study proposes a template - based 3D virtual fashion technology and a digital fashion platform based on it. The proposed template - based 3D virtual fashion technology is designed to clearly communicate the intention of designers and to be able to instantaneously view the results, thereby reducing the time and cost of producing prototypes. In addition, the digital fashion platform based on the template is designed as a collaborative platform based on idea sharing, which dramatically improves the process of confirming the prototype and initiating the product planning and manufacturing stages. This new technology can contributes to the formation of a business environment and a new area within the existing fashion industry and can be utilized for the development of the fashion industry in the future.

  • In the current era of rapid digitization of the fashion industry, this study aims to facilitate the digitization of local Hawaiian fashion products. The research compares and analyzes the patterns and colors of digital clothing products sold on Zepeto, a metaverse platform, and those of physical products sold both, online and offline, by six specialized brands with stores in Honolulu, Hawaii, or Hawaiian signature clothing products. The following results were obtained: First, physical products generally display various patterns, such as animals, plants, geography, regions, and beaches. However, the pattern diversity of digital products is relatively limited, with a tendency to focus on plant and animal designs, which are Hawaii's signature patterns. Second, the color analysis results demonstrate that chromatic color groups, such as blue and red, were the most popular in physical products, whereas digital products used mostly green and neutral colors. Considering that physical products are sold both, online and offline, this is presumed to be due to differences in expression techniques and customer responses to digital and physical products, rather than market differences. To facilitate the digitization of Hawaiian local fashion products, a library that accommodates physical products in a variety of patterns and colors must be secured, and continuous modifications must be made to match the overall fashion trends.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a modern use of traditional culture by developing creative fashion designs that combine modern and traditional styles based on an analysis of traditional costumes of women in the Tang Dynasty of China. The characteristics of the Tang Dynasty women's costume are as follows. The Tang Dynasty women's costume consists of a short coat (衫, Shan), skirt (裙, Qun), half-arm shawl (半臂, Banbi), and short embroidered cape (帔, Pei). The colors are succinct and elegant, commonly red, yellow, green and navy blue in its entirety. It may be classified by pattern that blend plant patterns, animal patterns, geometric patterns, and two or more mixed patterns. On the basis of the characteristics for traditional women's costume during the Tang Dynasty, the CLO 3D program is employed to develop digital fashion design for four pairs of 3D digital clothing and the production of two pairs of work product. The results are as follows. First, the development of fashion design reflecting the design characteristics of traditional women's clothing in the Tang Dynasty of China could be expressed as fashion design reflecting unique values while connecting tradition and modernity. Second, the 3D virtual clothing program displays an extremely important effect in design deployment and pattern arrangement by having efficiency and convenience in clothing production. The CLO 3D program is closely combined with the 2D design and 3D effect and heightened efficiency while being appropriate to realize sustainability while saving processing time and energy for the sample products. Third, the production of an actual product by facilitating the 3D virtual clothing design may lead to time savings and an effective economy and may allow for the comparison of digital fashion design and actual products as well as confirming the effects of digital fashion design.

  • The goal of this research, contorted from the perspective of media aesthetics, is to uncover the ways how mechanical/cybersensual fashion products express aesthetic characteristics of cybernetics, by comparing them with digital products designed by an application of cybernetics. The other goal is to provide a cultural and design framework of cybernetics as d digital-environmental medium for fashion in which hightech and human sensibilities are fused. The results urged to explore two new contrasting perceptual possibilities for an understanding of digital technology application: negative and positive feedbacks. Cybernetic optimism, centered on technological dimensions, focuses on a concept of fashion that emphasize instrumental aspects-efficiency and convenience. In contrast, cybernetic pessimism focuses on digital fashion that expresses environmental destruction and the loss of human identity. A comparative analysis of the aesthetics of expression in digital fashion design and digital industrial products from a cybernetic perspective showed that in digital environment society, the combination of negative and positive feedbacks resulted in design products in which internal and external aspects of beauty complemented each other.
