  • In this paper, we propose a method to infer the user's behavior and situation through collected data from multi-sensor equipped with a smart clothing and it was implemented as a smartphone App. User context reasoning and behavior determine is very difficult using single sensor depending on the measured value of the sensor varies from environmental noise. So, the reasoning and the digital filter algorithms to determine user behavior reducing noise and are required. In this paper, we used EWMA, Kalman Filter and SVM processing behavior for 3-axis value as a representative value of one.

  • Fashion brands communicate with consumers through the use of fashion films that are effective in the delivery of the image. This is because digital media (such as fashion films) are popular and accessible as well as effective in attracting people's attention. The reasons why fashion films have become a new fashion media among many others is becuase they are based on an existing platform. This study will examine offline platforms of fashion film: flagship store, fashion exhibition, and fashion show. The offline platform of a fashion film is a physical space where a fashion film can be exhibited and viewed as a medium that can effectively convey fashion film to consumers. As a research method, the concept of an offline platform of fashion film is established based on a literature review of fashion films and platform that is followed by an empirical case study. The study results show that the offline platform of a fashion film is in the progress of turning into an autotelic space where the consumption of such culture as cinema and theater has become possible.

  • Life expectancy has increased and people are more concerned with keeping their 'youth'. Appearance is a competitive edge and people are caught up in a baby face fad that has expanded into a culture and beauty trend. This study examined the definitions and phrenological characteristics of a baby face and the causes of the baby face fad in a review of the baby face as a "sociocultural and beauty cultural code" based on literature, journals, previous papers, and Internet materials. Anatomically speaking, a "baby face" refers to a face that keeps the features of a child's face without aging signs. The baby face fad gained momentum due to the influences of the digital culture, the encouragement of the mass media, changes to the social structure, dietary improvements, new living styles, and an evolving aesthetic sense. The results reveal the sociocultural backgrounds behind the "baby face fad" settling down as a part of culture in addition to the phrenological characteristics of a baby face. It is also estimated that the baby face fad could affect the beauty culture and trends as a social phenomena.

  • In human history, scarf has acted not only as a protection for body but also as a symbolization of class. Today, scarf has become a whole field in fashion and an important accessory to express individuality in fashion. Hence, like other fashion item, it is very important to develop exclusive design for scarf by analyzing the current fashion trend. In this research, we have designed a scarf textile, accordance with the contemporary design trend, applying the floral pattern, designed by William Morris who was an artist considered as the founder of the 1800s arts and crafts movement. We selected four trend themes, "Salon de Archives", "Eco Tech", "Profound Nature", and "Neo Aristo" for the design of 2007/2008 Fall/Winter. The flower motifs in Pimpernel Wallpaper, Honeysuckle textile design, Acanthus Wallpaper, Garden tulip wallpaper, Evenlode printed cotton, Trellis Wallpaper, and Chrysanthemum Wallpaper, by William Morris who expressed an image of environment friendly and nature reversion, applied to develop new creative scarf through design after modifying and rearranging these flower patterns. After the pattern was drawn by hand, adjusting of color and repeating of the design was done with DTP (Digital Textile Printing). Through this research, the researchers hopes to be of assistance to the development of national scarf brand design, and to the recapturing of textile industry that once played a important role in Koreans economic development.

  • The purpose of this study was to research on facial shape to suggest a quantified data for the domestic apparel and beauty industry. Conducted a measurement research of 278 female college students, We took the photographs of front view and lateral view of the subjects by digital camera and obtained the 69 measurements through the facial measurement program. 264 ,subjects' measurement data were analyzed by various statistical methods such as descriptive analysis, factor analysis and cluster analysis. Using the 69 measurement items,4 factors were selected as key factors for the factor analysis of facial shape, the factors are: \circled1 Front face height \circled2 Side face radial length \circled3 Front face breadth \circled4 Ear height and Gnathion radial length. We categorized the facial shape into four types by cluster analysis. Type 4 is the most common facial shape in female college students: \circled1 Type 1: Round face \circled2 Type 2: Oval face \circled3 Type 3: Square face \circled4 Type 4: Heart shaped face According to the facial shape analysis, facial shape of female college students are consisting of Heart shaped face(34.8%), Round face(29.2%), Square face(23.5%), oval face(12.5%).

The results showed significant differences among types of fashion film in regards to film attitude, product evaluation, creativity, information literacy, re-watching intention and word of mouth intention variables. This study revealed that the Brand Advertising type received the most positive evaluation in many aspects. Especially, the Storytelling type received the most positive evaluation in creativity. Wearing Apparel Products type gained high points in information literacy. The present study helps brand managers determine a fashion film that best suits each brand characteristics.

  • The purpose of part I of this research was to study the definition of the wearable computer, the influential factors which led to its advent, the history of its progress and to prospect the figure of future research in fashion field of it. A qualitative analysis was applied to fulfill the research purpose, in which academic reports, professional journals, newspapers, magazines, books and sites were reviewed and analyzed in depth. The wearable computer which has been developed as a type of the portable hardware for computing during the first period, 1960s-1980s, has progressed into apparently softer and technologically advanced prototypes during the 2nd period, early-mid 1990s. From the beginning of the 3rd period since late 1990s, 'really wearable' prototypes were developed as the results of efforts to invent the more comfortable and interactive 'wearcomp' Based on the result of the analysis, the meaning of wearable computer in fashion field was interpreted in this study, as a reflection of converged demand and tendency of this era. New issues for future research of the wearable computer were suggested in the viewpoint of fashion design.

  • This study researches the application methods of Wearable Technology (WT) realizing the convergence of Design and Electronics that could broaden the fashion expression boundaries to correspond to current convergence trends. For this, students in the Department of Fashion design and the Department of Electronics conducted an oriented convergence-design-workshop. The initial step of the workshop, included a lecture on WT including existing cases and brainstorming. As a result, two types of concepts; 'Light' using the lighting technology and 'Complex' using transforming and lighting technologies together were generated. Designers created garments that did not externally expose digital devices and engineers then configured basic systems with the minimum size of the devices applying. At the development stage, designers constructed internal structures of garments which do not influence the comfort situation and activities of those wearing the garments. Engineers then adjusted and finished the fashion prototypes' whole WT systems drawing on designers' guidelines. As the result of this study's workshop, the fashion prototypes were extracted by collaboration according to WT concepts; therefore, there could be the promising potential to broaden fashion expression boundaries through the application of WT.

  • This study aimed to suggest more appropriate and accurate festival costumes based on a comparative analysis on various reproduced costumes and a period review of traditional festival costumes. In particular, the comparative analysis examined festival costumes which appeared in Korean and Japanese festival parades during the Baekje Period. The Baekje Cultural and Sacheonwangsawasso Festivals were examined. A literature review as well as field research and digital restorative techniques were used in the study. The reproduction patterns of Baekje costumes from both festivals were compared with original Baekje costumes, demonstrating several differences in the configuration, material, color, and shape of the costumes in addition to the way they were worn. Based on the comparative analysis, Baekje costumes used in Festivals were grouped into three categories: King's Costume, Queen's Costume, and Government Official's Costume. Dress sketches and 3D illustrations also have been presented.
