한국 전통주거의 미적 관점에 의한 공간 연계성 연구 (A Study on a Space Linkage of the Korean Traditional Residence from an Aesthetic Point of View)

  • The prime purpose of this study is to view traditional residential space not only as visual and figurative but also experiencing space from the perspective of aesthetics. This study points out that traditional residential space should be perceived as "true space" of connecting people, life and experience. Although it was not clearly defined as a visual entity, the value, phenomenon and experience of space materialized through conjecture and expectation are interpreted as the arena of aesthetics and philosophy. This study aims at drawing a conclusion that the characteristics of traditional residential space, which is perceived as experiencing space centered on objective and subjective human behaviors, makes a linkage to aesthetic elements.

유비쿼터스 주택 거실 가구의 디지털 컨버젼스화를 위한 소비자 요구 분석 (An Analysis of the Customer Demand for Digital Convergence of the Furniture in the Living Space of Ubiquitous Home)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the customer demand for design development of digital convergence furniture in the living space of the ubiquitous home. This study used the individual survey method and was collected from July 1 to 20, 2008. The frequency and percentage were used for data analysis by SPSS window's 12. The results of the study were as follows: The first, a lot of survey targets were 30-40 years old, university graduates, over 50,000,000 won in annual income and 30-40 pyung in house size. The second, what types of activity were carried out in the living room were acquisition of knowledge>entertainment activity>communication activity>household chores. The third, what types of furniture were used in the living room were A/V furniture>table>sofa>computer table>bookself. The forth, customers preferred to picture telephone service in sociality, home-theater service in entertainment and home appliances remote control service in information service. The fifth, the digital functions which can integrate with the living roon furniture, in the item for A/V furniture, was front door control function which recognizes visitors with the screen. In the item for table was function to search internet and for sofa was self purification function. Finally, the digital convergence furniture is not only for one activity but also for various types of activities that can comprehensively function to materialize the concept of comfortable furniture in the living space.

디지털건축공간에 나타난 위상기하학적 불변항의 표현특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Topological Invariant Expression in the Space of Digital Architecture)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a topological design principles and to analyze the space of digital architecture applying topological invariant expressive characteristics. As this study is based on topology as a science of true world's pattern, we intented to explain the concepts and provide some methods of low-level and hyperspace topological invariant Properties. Four major aspects are discussed. Those are connection theory, boundary concept, homotopy group, knot Pattern theory as topological invariant properties. Then we intented to make understand topological characteristics of the Algorithms, luring machine, cellular automata, string theory, membrane, DNA and supramolecular chemistry. In fine, the topological invariant properties of the digital architecture as genetic algorithms based on self-organization and heterogeneous networks of interacting actors can be analyzed and used as a critical tool. Therefore topology can be provided endless possibilities for architecture, designers and scientists intended in expressing the more complex and organic patterns of nature as life.

근대 건축에서의 '평면성' 개념 (A Study on the Conception of Planarity in Modern Art)

  • This study is aimed to find out the conception of planarity in Modern Architecture. Some architecture historians such as Hildebrand and Schmarsow indicated the planarity by which new idea of space in architecture was made. The characteristics of the planar was embodied and developed through the proclamation of the ideology and their works in the avant-garde art movement of Cubism and Neoplasticism. The planarity in modern architecture was embodied from various aspects -the perception of space, the pictorial art and the metaphysics- by means of imaginary plane, superposition of planes, oscillation of plane, deconstruction of mass and elimination of natural color.

  • The walls of art museums become the background of exhibits, and they form a unit space depending on the of each exhibit. In addition, the walls are configured and presented depending on the rhythm of space, or the structure of an axis. In this study, according to the axis composed for each unit space, the presentation methods of walls were classified as follows: The central type, the skewed type, the crossed type, the one-side corridor type, and the two-way corridor type. By analyzing visual configurations formed by the arrangement of each unit space, the value and the hierarchy of walls are discussed To analyze the classified types with the physical change of unit space, the factors of visual integration, connectivity, depth, and visual axis are compared, and various configurations of walls and space change are applied.

  • Since the past, an attempt of figuration which is for movement, time and force has existed constantly. A process of representative from expressed on the movement, time and force creates events, and the process through the events expresses the idea of a simulacre. Furthermore, Architectural works for potentiality to give a demonstration are in common with hybrid characteristics, and have lasting creation of flux architecture. Ignoring the gravity of the floating figuration, so it appears unrealistic hyperphysical virtual space that easily could make the life of creation. For this reason, the form generation based on the digital design method is expressed the important method. In conclusion, actualizing the virtual is the suitable way for 'devenir architecture' based upon the Deleuze Guattari's idea of 'simulacre' and creating the from generation on the contemporary digital architecture design in a similar way.

  • Territory is determined by physical elements that provide the occupants an obvious boundary in a space. The creation of boundary is a interpersonal process by which a person or group regulates interactions with others. The perception of territory needs boundary regulations that mean the composition of horizontal and vertical elements in architectural space. The perception of territory can be defined as perceptual reaction considering not only visual perception on the physical elements in the architectural space and also various kinds of social activity in architectural environment. To achiever territory in architectural space, visible and invisible boundary regulation should be need. It means that territorial boundary regulation needs visual and audial boundary regulation as well as spatial boundary regulation.

  • One of frequent phenomena in the contemporary cultural field is the alternative or accompanying interweaving phenomena which happens in the relative connection of A, B, and C. The power of interweaving mixture is one of energies which unify the contemporary cultural phenomena, and it appears as a major phenomena in the recent popular digital architecture. In this study, the mixture, shape, and contents in the contemporary space design is analyzed as a point of view of Post-Structuralism. Namely, the digital part and non-digital part of alternative and circulating existence in the space are classified and the interweaving phenomena in the contemporary space design are proved. It is studied for digital part and physical space to conjunct the hole space and smooth space of Deleuze as part of interweaving phenomena. It is clear that the compatible concept of the hole space and smooth space is crossed complexly or is coexisting in circulating and extending, and is showed as interweaving phenomena in one space.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze about the extension of user experience in the digital space. Through the digital technology and virtual space, the city's new environment is being changed. it makes people activate their aesthetic experience. Simultaneously, it elevates satisfaction levels regarding people's aesthetic experience. Research methods and settings of the range to study on the Extension of User Experience are as follows: First, establish digital space's characteristics comparing digital space at the structural change-points in modern society. Second, experience's approch way through the digital media in the contemporary space. And understand the concept about a variety of User Experience. Third. to classify the elements of access control for the user experience. Experience is being expanded through the generation process. Fourth, investigate analysis of the case studies, focused on the architecture and space design_Media installations that appear in the city park, the city's landmark buildings facade, the building facade by offering commercially applied for brand marketing_ announced through the media recently. Also, it is to look at the physical elements through digital media and to analyze the applicability of the public space. Therefore, the new approach to digital implementation shall be determined by looking in the direction of the user approaches.

Space Management on Campus of a Mobile BIM-based Augmented Reality System

  • Over the past decade, building information modeling (BIM) has gained a foothold in the construction sector. However, as digital data generated in the virtual space of a computer environment, BIM-based data have an inherent limitation in their application efficacy under field conditions. To overcome this, the present study employs augmented reality (AR) to reduce the discrepancy between the digital data generated in virtual spaces and real-world conditions. We assessed the potential applicability of an AR-based interface by analyzing existing examples of Apple, Google, and Facebook, which reflect the recent developments of technologies focusing on user experience. We then proceeded with an AR study, restricting the scope of application to a mobile environment in which an efficient information transmission between a digital model and real life can take place. Object-oriented software engineering was employed to ensure an efficient implementation of a BIM-based AR system for campus space management (CSM) in a mobile environment. Finally, we conducted a module test to check the reliability of the CSM method by using an AR-based mobile system with a prototype of the model used in university campuses, and extracted and itemized the supplementary requirements for CSM by using BIM tools for running AR applications.
