디지털산업에 대한 시민과 산업종사자 간의 인식 차이 연구: 상호지향성 모델을 중심으로 (A Study on the Perception of Digital Industry between Citizen and Industry Workers: An Application of the Co-orientation Model)

  • The digital industry area based on digital technology is specialized and rapidly changing. This kind of change lead to a gap of understanding arises between the digital industry and the public. The digital industry is a trend that cannot be reversed, thus efforts to reduce the gap in understanding are necessary for positive social development in the future. This study aimed to find clues to reduce the gap in understanding by measuring the difference in perception between the public and the digital industry. To measure the difference in perception, this study applied the mutual orientation model proposed by McLeod and Chaffee(1973), As a result of the study, both groups agreed that the digital industry would make a positive contribution to the Korean economy in the future. However, it was confirmed that there was a possibility of mutual misunderstanding due to different views on the digital industry.

A Block-Based Adaptive Data Hiding Approach Using Pixel Value Difference and LSB Substitution to Secure E-Governance Documents

  • In order to protect secret digital documents against vulnerabilities while communicating, steganography algorithms are applied. It protects a digital file from unauthorized access by hiding the entire content. Pixel-value-difference being a method from spatial domain steganography utilizes the difference gap between neighbor pixels to fulfill the same. The proposed approach is a block-wise embedding process where blocks of variable size are chosen from the cover image, therefore, a stream of secret digital contents is hidden. Least significant bit (LSB) substitution method is applied as an adaptive mechanism and optimal pixel adjustment process (OPAP) is used to minimize the error rate. The proposed application succeeds to maintain good hiding capacity and better signal-to-noise ratio when compared against other existing methods. Any means of digital communication specially e-Governance applications could be highly benefited from this approach.

  • This study aimed to propose application directions for South Korea's digital health policy by conducting a literature review, data analysis, and examining foreign cases. The objective was to enhance the healthcare rights of individuals with disabilities, considering the potential expansion of the digital health policy. The findings indicate that digital health holds significant promise in improving mobility and accessibility for the healthcare rights of disabled individuals in Korea. However, addressing the digital gap is crucial for achieving smooth utilization. To ensure seamless use of the digital health system, it is imperative to attain digital inclusion, encompassing digital technology, connectivity, and accessibility. Additionally, establishing governance for digital health and expanding infrastructure for affordable access to high-quality internet are essential. Despite the study's limitations arising from relying on literature research, it is anticipated that the findings can serve as foundational data for preemptive responses and provide insights into the direction of the government's digital health policy to enhance the healthcare rights of individuals with disabilities.

위성 DMB 시스템을 이용한 위치 기반 서비스 구현 (Implementation of Location Based Services Using Satellite DMB System)

  • 본 논문에서는 위성 DMB (satellite-digital multimedia broadcasting, S-DMB) 송수신 시스템을 이용한 위치 기반 서비스 (location based services, LBS) 구현 방법에 대하여 제안한다. S-DMB 송출 신호는 2 GHz 대역의 주파수를 사용하므로 직진성은 강하지만 회절성이 약한 특징을 갖고 있다. 따라서 S-DMB 시스템에서는 실내 및 지하 공간 등의 음영 지역이 다수 존재하게 되는데, 이러한 음영지역에서는 갭필러 (gap filler)라는 음영지역 중계기를 통해서 S-DMB 신호를 수신하게 된다. 이러한 갭필러의 식별정보 (gap filler ID)를 확인하면 갭필러가 설치된 지역을 알 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 S-DMB 신호를 수신할 수 있는 단말기에서 S-DMB 파일럿 신호 중 갭필러 식별정보를 이용하여, 관심 위치 정보 등록, 목적지 도착 알림, 및 지역 정보 알림 기능 등의 LBS를 구현하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 LBS 구현 방법의 성능을 검증하기 위한 실험에서는 S-DMB 수신칩이 갭필러 식별정보를 애플리케이션 프로세서 (application processor, AP)로 전달하도록 단말기의 펌웨어 (firmware)를 수정하여 LBS 구현 테스트를 진행하였다.

  • 지식기반사회에서 능동적으로 대처하기위해 정보통신기술을 효과적으로 활용하여 자신의 전문 영역을 확대 심화하고, 일상생활에서의 문제를 효과적으로 해결할 수 있는 능력을 필요로 하고 있다. 따라서 교육인적자원부는 ICT 활용교육을 위해 노력하고 있다. 이러한 노력에도 불구하고 사회적으로 정보격차의 문제가 심각하고 학교 현장에서는 컴퓨터 교과가 정식과목으로 채택되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 수업을 받고 있는 학생과 받고 있지 않는 학생들을 대상으로 초등학생의 컴퓨터 활용능력 격차분석을 하고 컴퓨터 교육의 중요성을 알아보았다. 또한 도시와 농촌 학생들 간의 컴퓨터 활용능력 격차를 비교해 봄으로써 지역 간 격차를 줄이는 방안에 대해서도 모색해 보았다.

장애인들의 디지털정보화 수준과 정책활동 만족도 수준과의 관계에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Digital Informatization Level and Policy Activity Satisfaction Level of Disabled Persons)

  • 정치 활동이나 정책에의 참여활동에 있어서 최근에는 온라인에서 활동이 더 중요해지고 있다. 따라서 디지털정보화 수준은 온라인 환경에서의 정책에의 참여활동에도 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 장애인들의 정책 활동이 정보화 수준과 어떠한 관계를 가지고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 2017년 디지털정보격차실태조사 결과를 바탕으로 장애인들의 디지털정보화수준과 정책 활동 만족도 수준과의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구결과 장애인들의 유무선 정보기기 보유 및 인터넷 상시 접속가능 여부 등 디지털접근과 정책 활동 만족도 수준과는 정(+)의 관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, PC이용능력 및 모바일 디지털기기 이용능력 등 디지털 정보역량수준과 소득수준도 정(+)의 관계를 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 유선 및 모바일 인터넷 이용여부 등 디지털 정보활용 등의 수준이 높아질수록 정책 활동 만족도 수준도 정(+)의 관계로 증가한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통해 장애인들에 대한 디지털 정보화 수준을 높일 수 있는 정부의 다양한 정보화 정책이 필요함을 시사한다.

Identifying Barriers to Big Data Analytics: Design-Reality Gap Analysis in Saudi Higher Education

  • The spread of cloud computing, digital computing, and the popular social media platforms have led to increased growth of data. That growth of data results in what is known as big data (BD), which seen as one of the most strategic resources. The analysis of these BD has allowed generating value from massive raw data that helps in making effective decisions and providing quality of service. With Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia seeks to invest in BD technologies, but many challenges and barriers have led to delays in adopting BD. This research paper aims to search in the state of Big Data Analytics (BDA) in Saudi higher education sector, identify the barriers by reviewing the literature, and then to apply the design-reality gap model to assess these barriers that prevent effective use of big data and highlights priority areas for action to accelerate the application of BD to comply with Vision 2030.

Two-dimensional modelling of uniformly doped silicene with aluminium and its electronic properties

  • Silicene is a two-dimensional (2D) derivative of silicon (Si) arranged in honeycomb lattice. It is predicted to be compatible with the present fabrication technology. However, its gapless properties (neglecting the spin-orbiting effect) hinders its application as digital switching devices. Thus, a suitable band gap engineering technique is required. In the present work, the band structure and density of states of uniformly doped silicene are obtained using the nearest neighbour tight-binding (NNTB) model. The results show that uniform substitutional doping using aluminium (Al) has successfully induced band gap in silicene. The band structures of the presented model are in good agreement with published results in terms of the valence band and conduction band. The band gap values extracted from the presented models are 0.39 eV and 0.78 eV for uniformly doped silicene with Al at the doping concentration of 12.5% and 25% respectively. The results show that the engineered band gap values are within the range for electronic switching applications. The conclusions of this study envisage that the uniformly doped silicene with Al can be further explored and applied in the future nanoelectronic devices.

  • This paper describes practical tuning methods and testing of a digital PSS, which uses both frequency and power, with the 220MVA Chungpyung P/P #1 in the KEPCO system to enhance the damping of local modes. In the first step, the objective phase of PSS is computed through a phase leading function to provide compensation between the exciter reference point and the generator air-gap torque before tuning the PSS's time constants. In addition, eigenvalue analysis was used to determine a range of PSS's gain, whichis the more useful for field testing rather than a single gain value. The Real-Time Digital Simulator was used to verify safe operations of the PSS in the presence of disturbances, such as AVR step and three phase fault.

  • Large number of part design for aircraft and automobile is preceded by functional or sectional design groups for efficiency. However, interferences and gaps can be found when the parts and sub-assemblies by those design groups are to be assembled. These interferences and gaps cause design changes and additional repair processes. While interference problem has been resolved by digital mockup and concurrent engineering methodology, gap problem has been covered by temporary treatment of filling gap with sealant. This kind of fast fix causes fatal problem of leakage when the gap is too big for filling or the treatment gets old. With this research, we have developed a program to find the gap automatically among parts of assembly so that users can find them to correct their design before manufacturing stage. By using decomposition model representation method, the developed program can search the gap among complex car body parts to be visualized with volumetric information. It can also define the boundary between the gap and exterior empty space automatically. Though we have proved the efficiency of the developed program by applying to automobile assembly, application of the program is not limited to car body only, but also can be extended to aircraft and ship design of large number of parts.
