The Impact of Message Characteristics on Online Viral Diffusion in Online Social Media Services : The Case of Twitter (트위터 메세지 특성에 따른 온라인 구전효과에 대한 분석)

  • In this paper, we explore the information diffusion mechanism under social network environments by investigating the effect of message characteristics on the volume and speed of retweeting in Twitter, a popular online social media service. To this end, we select eight main keywords (i.e., '무상급식', '반값등록금', '나가수', '평창', '김연아', '박태환', '아이폰', '갤럭시') that have been popular on online social media in recent days. Each keyword represents various social aspects of Korea that recently grab people's attention such as political issues, entertainment, sports celebrities, and the latest digital products, and eventually holds distinctive message characteristics. Analyzing the frequency and velocity of retweeting for each keyword, we find that more than half of the sample messages posted on Twitter contain personal opinions for the certain keyword, but we also find that the tweets which include objective messages with hyperlink are the fastest ones when being retweeted by other followers. In overall, when being retweeted, the group of messages related to the certain keyword present distinctive diffusion patterns and speed according to message characteristics. From academic perspective, the findings in the study broaden our theoretical knowledge of information diffusion mechanism over online social media. For practitioners, the results also provide managerial implications regarding how to strategically utilize online social media for marketing communications with customers.

Geographical Interpretation of Korean Diaspora in Northeastern China: Its Migration and Spatial Diffusion (중국 조선족 디아스포라의 지리적 해석: 중국 동북3성 조선족 이주를 중심으로)

  • This paper investigates the migration process of Korean population in Northeastern China since the 19th century, focusing on the population distribution patterns in different time periods which reflect changes and diffusions of diaspora space. Korean migration into Northeastern China seemed to begin from the late 19th century, and can be classified into four different periods including cross-border refugee period (19th to 1910), political exile period(1911-1931), forced migration period(1932-1945), and economic-driven migration period(after 1946). The Korean migration into Northeastern China was closely related to paddy field rice farming by Korean migrants, which can be interpreted as a process of contagious diffusion starting from border area between Korea and China at the early stage. And then, process of hierarchical diffusion occurred along with urban centers on the railways from the 1930s. At the later stage, Korean migration has extended to coastal urban centers, other big cities in China and other countries including Korea since the 2000s. Recently, ethnic Korean communities in China have experienced changes from rural village based community to urban district based community as well as from single-nuclei ethnic structure around Northeastern China toward multi-nuclei ethnic structure extending to coastal urban areas in China.

Assessment of the Combustion Diffusion Pattern and Fire Risk of a Water Purifier Damaged by a General Fire (일반화염에 의해 소손된 정수기의 연소 확산 패턴 및 화재위험성 평가)

  • This paper analyzes the combustion diffusion pattern when a water purifier is artificially ignited outside and inside in order to provide data to examine the cause of fire of a water purifier damaged by fire. The analysis result of the combustion diffusion pattern of a water purifier shows that the combustion diffused at a higher speed when it was ignited inside the purifier than when ignited outside. It took approximately 360 seconds for the water purifier to be half-burned when ignited on the outside, and approximately 180 seconds when ignited from inside. That is, it is thought that the internal combustion speed is higher because the internal ignition causes the generated heat to be accumulated and radiated instantly. It was observed that the water purifier damaged by fire caused by external ignition showed a uniform carbonization pattern and the carbide burned down at the bottom were gradually deposited. The water purifier damaged by internal ignition showed a relatively clear boundary of carbonized surface, which formed a V-pattern. The difference in the combustion patterns presents an objective base from which to determine where the fire started. By the time the purifier was half-burned by fire, the built-in fuse had not melted and the power supply protection device did not operate. In addition, as was found in the case of the fuse damaged by a general fire, carbonization occurred at the metal holder, and it is thought that this fact may be used as a basis from which to determine the cause of a fire.

  • Halftonig is a technique to create the appearance of intermideate tone levels by controlling the spatial distribution of the binary pixel values. Recently, many printing devices such as image setter, inkjet printer, laser printer and facsimile, generate image, they require the technique. Ordered dither is achieved comparing the gray scale image to periodic array. This method is fast, but it occurs periodic patterns. Conentional error diffusion generates a good image. But processing speed is very slow and appeares worm artifacts in middle tone scale. To improve it, Bns(Blue noise Screen) is developed based on Gaussian distribution. In this paper, we discribe methods to design BNS based human visual characteristics and to improve blue appearing at edge area of image by USM(using unsharp mask).

Ventilation Efficiency of Clothing through Openings under an Isothermal Condition (등온 환경하에서 개구부를 통한 의복의 환기 효율)

  • The ventilation efficiency of clothing was investigated by a trace gas method using a manikin wearing an impermeable overall under an isothermal condition, where the ventilation occurred only through the openings by diffusion. The ventilation patterns were different for each part of the body. The ventilation efficiency in the clothing microenvironment of the arm and the leg greatly depended on the distance from each opening when the wrist- or the ankle-opening was opened. When both side of wrist- or ankle-openings were opened to provide the opening area double respectively, the ventilation efficiency did not correspondingly increase twice, as compared one side opened. Even though it as certainly affected by the opening area, the ventilation efficiency was more significantly influenced by the position of openings.

  • The operating temperature of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) usually has to be limited under $100^{\circ}C$ to maintain the proper ionic conductivity. Therefore, the only product from reaction, water, is in the liquid phase. Two-phase flow makes the flow phenomenon in the channel difficult to understand and predict. Water blocking in the PEMFC channel or the pore of Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL), called flooding, is known as the main effect of PEMFC degradation. To analyze two-phase flow, the PEMFC with transparent acrylic plate was used. Two-phase flow patterns were observed by varying the current density. When the PEMFC is mounted horizontally, water in the cathode is mainly transported on the interface between the channel and GDL.

A watermarking method for printed halftone images using multiple dithering patterns (인쇄 하프톤 영상에서의 워터마킹 기법 연구)

  • 본 논문은 그레이 스케일 인쇄 영상의 저작권을 보호할 수 있는 워터마킹 기법에 관한 연구이다. 기존의 인쇄영상 워터마크 기법은 순서 디더링(ordered dithering)을 이용하는 까닭에 인쇄 영상의 화질 감소가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 영상 하프토닝 기법중 오류 확산(error diffusion) 알고리즘을 이용하여 화질을 개선한 영상내에 워터마크를 삽입한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 Hagit이 제안한 순서 디더링 셀 집합을 사용한 워터마크를 오류확산 하프토닝 이미지에 삽입함으로 영상의 시각적인 화질 감소가 없을 뿐만 아니라, 프린터와 스캐너에 의한 영상의 변형에도 워터마크의 삽입과 추출이 가능하다. 제안된 알고리즘으로 워터마킹하는 경우 스캐너와 프린터의 기기적인 특성에서 나타나는 잡음과 회전에도 강한 워터마크를 삽입하고 추출할 수 있다.

Study on the Dielectric and Voltage-Current Properties of $(Sr{\cdot}Ca)TiO_3$-based Ceramics ($(Sr{\cdot}Ca)TiO_3$계 세라믹의 유전 및 V-I 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the $Sr_{1-x}Ca_{x}TiO_{3}(0{\leq}x{\leq}0.2)$ 2)-based grain boundary layer ceramics were fabricated to measured dielectric properties and voltage-current properties. The sintering temperature and time were $1420\sim1520^{\circ}C$, 4hours, in $N_{2}$ gas, respectively. The structural and the dielectric properties were investigated by SEM, X-ray, HP4194A and K6517. The 2nd phase formed by thermal diffusion from the surface lead to a very high apparent dielectric constant, $\varepsilon_r$ > 50000. X-ray diffraction patterns exhibited cubic structure for all specimens. Increasing content of Ca, the peak intensity were decreased.ﱇﶖ⨀ਆᘍ܀㘱㔮㠹㬅K䍄乍

Flowfield Calculation around Two Circular Cylinders by a Discrete Vortex Method (이산와법에 의한 2원주 주위의 유동장 수치계산)

  • The Flow patterns around two cylinders in various arrangements were studied by a discrete vortex method. The flow for the surface of each cylinder was represented by arranging bound vortices at adequate intervals. The viscous diffusion of fluid was represented by the random walk method. The vortex distributions, streaklines, timelines and velocity vectors around two cylinders were calculated for centre-to-centre pitch ratios of $P/D=1.5 and 2.5$, attack angles of ${\alpha}=0^{\circ},\;30^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}\;and\;90^{\circ}$, and Reynolds number of Re=1200. The results of simulation correspond to the photographs by flow visualization and the flow intereference between two cylinders in various arrangements was clearly visualized by a numerical simulation.

  • As a very rapid diffusion of internet business in these days, the marketing mix strategies become more important matters. In addition, because of changes in international trade patterns, and an increase of internet users, new marketing strategies are needs. There's not a business in the world that shouldn't feel threatened by the internet, but companies willing to become engaged should find big opportunities. Becoming engaged with the internet, for matters, means understanding the unique nature of the internet market and using that understanding to execute dynamic strategies. This paper is focusing the analysing the difference between the internet marketing and traditional marketing and proposing the new strategical marketing mix. In the traditional marketing environment, 4P(Product, Price, Promotion, Place) is very important, but in the internet business environment 6C(Community, Connection, Commerce, Communication, Customization, Contents) is more important.
