PIV계측에 의한 디퓨져펌프 안내깃에서의 유동특성 (Flow Characteristics of Guide Vane of Diffuser Pump by PIV Measurement)

  • The present experimental study is focused on the application of multi-point simultaneous measurement by PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) to guide vane region within a diffuser pump. Various different kinds of clearance were selected as experimental conditions. Optimized cross correlation identification to obtain velocity vectors was implemented with direct calculation of correlation coefficients. Fine optical setup important in PIV performance is arranged for the accurate PIV measurement of high-speed complex flow. Various flow patterns are represented quantitatively at the stator passages.

원심압축기 깃 없는 디퓨저에서의 선회실속에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on rotating stall in vaneless diffuser of a centrifugal compressor)

  • This study describes the results of the analysis of measured rotating stall signal in a centrifugal compressor with vaneless diffuser. Unsteady flow and rotating stall in vaneless diffuser were investigated by measuring of unsteady velocity fluctuation using hot-wire anemometer. Experiments were carried out in several impeller rotating speeds, at different radius ratios. Single hot -wire was used to study the characteristics of rotating stall. As a result, the abrupt rotating stall was detected at all measured impeller rotating speeds and the several flow coefficients which are less than 0.16. The number of the stall cell was one at all measured rotational speeds, and the rotating direction was the same as that of the impeller. As the flow rate decreased, the profile of the phase averaged radial velocity component with time changed from a sawtooth to a sine wave.

  • In wide angle diffuser, the increasement of cross-sectional area so rapidly cause possibly separate from the diffuser wall and forming areas of backflow. The flow characteristics of wide angle diffuser with guide damper was investigated for three kind of inclined angle($\alpha=7_{\circ},\;10.5_{\circ}\;and\;14_{\circ}$)of guide damper. Judging from the results, guide damper can be used as an effective means of improvement for diffuser performance and inclined angle of $\alpha=10.5^{\circ}$ was through to be the best among three cases.

  • This paper proposes a novel diffuser design for Diffuser Augmented Wind Turbines (DAWT) based on the blunt trailing edge airfoil AF300. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations are carried out to measure the performance of the AF300 diffuser against diffusers made with the shape of other high performance low wind speed airfoils. The results show that the proposed diffuser produces a greater air mass flow increase through the plane of the turbine than the other diffusers and it can be used to increase the performance of a horizontal axis wind turbine.

  • The airflow characteristics of an air-conditioning duct with multiple diffusers were investigated through one-dimensional analysis, CFD simulation and experimental measurement. One-dimensional program based on Bernoulli's equation and minor loss equations was developed in order to evaluate the air distribution rate at each diffuser. In CFD simulation, three-dimensional flow characteristics inside air-conditioning duct were computed for incompressible viscous flow, adopting the RNG k-$\xi$turbulence model. Also, in an effort to equalize the discharge flow rate at each outlet, the optimization procedure has been performed to obtain the optimum diffuser area. In this process, square of difference between maximum discharge rate and minimum discharge rate is used as an object function. Diffuser area and discharge velocity are established as constraints. After optimization process, determined design variables are applied again in CFD simulation and experiment to validate the optimized result by one-dimensional program. Comparison with the experimental data of airflow rate distribution showed that the developed program seems to be acceptable and can be useful design tool for an automotive air-conditioning duct in an initial design stage.

초음속 디퓨져에서 발생하는 충격파 진도의 피동제어 (A passive control on shock oscillations in a supersonic diffuser)

  • Shock wave/boundary layer interaction frequently causes the shock wave to oscillate violently and thus the global flow field to unstabilize. In order to stabilize the shock wave system in the diffuser of a supersonic wind tunnel, the present study attempted to control the shock oscillations by using a passive control. A porous wall with the porosity of 19.6% was mounted on a shallow cavity. Experiment was made by means of schlieren optical observation and wall pressure measurements. The flow Mach number just upstream the shock system and Reynolds number based on the turbulent boundary layer thickness were 2.1 and 1.8 * 10$\^$6/, respectively. The results show that the present passive control method on the shock wave/boundary layer interaction in the supersonic diffuser can significantly suppress the oscillations of shock system, especially when the shock system locates at the porous wall.

  • 고공 환경 하에서 작동하는 우주발사체 상단 추진기관의 경우 지상에서 실제 작동 환경에 가까운 조건에서 연소시험을 수행하여 그 성능을 검증하게 된다. KSLV-I 상단 추진기관의 경우 원통형 디퓨저를 이용하여 고공환경 모사시험을 수행하였으며, 디퓨저의 설계 검증 및 시동특성을 확인하기 위해 축소형 디퓨저에 대한 비반응 유동시험 및 연소시험을 수행하였다. 본 논문에서는 축소형과 실물형 디퓨저에 대한 시험 결과를 제시하고 시동특성에 대해 분석하였다.

  • Exhaust system of steam turbines consists of an annular diffuser and a collector and connects the last stage turbine and the condenser. The system is used to transfer the turbine leaving kinetic energy to potential energy while guiding the flow from turbine exit plane to the downstream condenser. In the steam turbine exhaust system, distorted pressure profile is arisen by the nonaxisymmetric collector structure at the diffuser outlet, and this distorted pressure is propagated to the last stage LP turbine exit plane through the diffuser, then the last stage LP turbine experiences asymmetric back pressure. It is known that the pressure recovery performance of diffuser is strongly influenced by diffuser inflow condition. In this study, the effect of exhaust system due to the changing of inlet flow condition is observed by using CFD, and the interaction of last stage LP turbine and exhaust system is investigated by using actuator disk model as modeling of turbine blade row of exhaust hood inlet.

조류발전 시스템용 쉬라우드의 형상각도별 일정 조류속도장 내 해수유동 특성연구 (A Study on Seawater Flow Characteristics inside the Shrouds used in Tidal Current Generation Systems for Various Geometric Angles under Constant Tidal Current Velocity)

  • 수평축 조류발전 시스템에 사용되는 쉬라우드의 기하학적 형상각도별 해수의 유동장 특성을 전산유체역학을 통해 분석하였다. 쉬라우드를 포함한 전체 유동장 내 해수의 유속 분포는 일정한 조류속도조건에서 쉬라우드의 형상에 따라 크게 영향을 받으며 특히 발전성능에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 쉬라우드 내 최대유속의 위치 및 크기는 형상 별로 큰 차이가 있다. 실린더와 디퓨저부분의 길이가 같은 실린더-디퓨저 형태의 쉬라우드에서는 실린더 영역에서 비교적 높은 유속분포가 형성되었으며 노즐과 디퓨저부분의 길이가 같은 대칭구조의 노즐-디퓨저에서는 내경이 최소인 지점에서 국부적으로 나타났다. 실린더-디퓨저 쉬라우드에서 조류속도에 비해 높은 유속이 형성되었으며 중심축상의 유속은 노즐-디퓨저와는 다르게 쉬라우드 입구 근처에서 점차 증가하기 시작하여 실린더부분의 중앙 부근에서 피크값을 지나 디퓨저에서 급격히 감소한 후 다시 일정한 속도로 유지되어 가는 특성을 나타내었다. 이러한 쉬라우드의 형상과 해수유동장 변화특성에 대한 분석결과는 효율적인 조류발전시스템을 위한 쉬라우드의 최적설계에 응용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
