상용 소프트웨어 ANSYS를 이용한 열전도문제의 형상설계 민감도 해석 (Shape Design Sensitivity Analysis of Thermal Conduction Problems using Commercial Software ANSYS)

  • A method for shape design sensitivity analysis is proposed utilizing commercial software ANSYS for thermal conduction problems. While the sensitivity formula is derived analytically by introduing adjoint variable concept, sensitivity calculation in practice as well as the primal and adjoint solution of thermal conduction is performed using the ANSYS very easily. Since the formula always takes boundary integral form, sensitivity evaluation in ANSYS requires a little more addition of post-processing routine which involves evaluation of boundary variable from the obtained solution. Though the BEM has been used as a better tool for this purpose, the present study shows it can also be calculated using any kind of analysis code such as ANSYS since the formula is based on analytic nature. Therefore the present study provides a new and efficient way of optimization which was not possible before using commercial software. The usefulness of the method is illustrated via a weight minimization problem of thermal diffuser.

  • Disinfection is a basic and effective microorganism inactivation method and historically contributed a decrease in waterborne diseases. To guarantee the disinfection ability, improving T in CT value is important. Many indexes are used to estimate the hydraulic efficiency, however, these are black-box analysis. Therefore it is need to develope new estimation method. In this study, internal short-circuiting estimation method (ISEM) is developed using CFD and we inquire into the factor which causes increase of $T_{10}/T$ value as LW ratio increases. And the effect of shape on the relation of LW ratio and $T_{10}/T$ is analyzed. As LW ratio increases, internal short-circuiting index (ISI) of influent and effluent zone is rapidly reduced and recirculation and dead zone are reduced in channel zone. Therefore, as the $T_{10}/T$ value converges maximum value, ISI curve is changed from "V" shape to "U" shape and hydraulic efficiency is improved especially in downstream portion of clearwell. The less the shape ratio(width/length of clearwell) is the less the $T_{10}/T$ value is at a same LW ratio because the portion of turning zone increases as shape ration decreases, therefore more boundary separation is generated.

  • In this study, flow structure in a three-stage centrifugal compressor for LNG Plant with the refrigerant, Propane, was numerically investigated at the design point of the compressor using a commercial code. Flow characteristics in the passages of impeller and vaneless diffuser were analyzed in detail including velocity vector, Mach number and pressure contours in blade spanwise and meridional plane for each stage. The estimation on the one-dimensional output from the preliminary design and three-dimensional shape of the impeller blade was performed through the flow analysis. The verification for designed compressor was carried out from three-dimensional Navier-Stokes analysis. The results will be used as reference data for a new design of 3-D impeller shape to improve propane refrigerant compressor performance.

공기 유로 형상에 따른 공랭식 전기자동차 배터리 시스템의 냉각 성능 예측 (Predictions of the Cooling Performance on an Air-Cooled EV Battery System According to the Air Flow Passage Shape)

  • 본 논문은 전기자동차 배터리 시스템에 공기를 이용한 직접 냉각 방식을 적용하여, 공기 유로 형상에 따른 냉각 성능을 비교 연구하였다. 이를 위해, 배터리 냉각 시스템에서 모듈의 배치 형상과 발열량을 고정하고, 입 출구 면적 및 외부 Case 형상을 변경하여, 이에 따른 냉각 성능 결과를 수치 해석적으로 비교 분석하였다. 해석 결과는 배터리 내부의 공기 유동 유선(Stream line), 속도장 분포(Velocity field), 온도 분포(Temperature distributions)를 정리하여 제시하였다. 해석 결과, 외기온도 $25^{\circ}C$에서 안정적인 배터리 작동온도인 $50^{\circ}C$ 이하를 만족하기 위해서는 공기의 유입 체적이 $400m^3/h$ 이상이 되어야 함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 출구 부근의 Diffuser 형상을 가지는 해석 조건에서 냉각이 끝난 공기의 배출이 원활히 진행되면서 냉각 성능이 향상되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

CFD 시뮬레이션을 이용한 이젝터 혼합실 형상에 따른 성능 평가에 관한 연구 (Study on Performance Evaluation of Mixing Section of Ejector using CFD simulation)

  • 이젝터는 펌프의 일종으로서 고압의 유체가 지닌 압력에너지를 이용하여 흡입 유체를 빨아들여 이송하는 기계장치이다. 본 논문은 유한체적법 기반의 CFD 분석을 이용하여 이젝터의 성능에 영향을 미치는 혼합실 형상에 따른 영향을 조사하였다. 혼합실 내부의 노즐 직경과 노즐목 길이, 그리고 노즐 끝단과 유체가 외부로 빠져나가는 디퓨저 입구까지의 거리를 변화시키면서 성능을 좌우하는 흡입유체가 가장 잘 흡입되는 최적의 조건을 조사하였다. 연구 결과 이젝터의 성능은 노즐의 직경이 가장 큰 영향을 나타내는 것을 확인하였다. 혼합실 내부 노즐의 직경이 감소함에 따라 혼입율이 증가하는 것을 확인하였고 노즐 직경이 증가할수록 혼입율이 감소되는 것을 확인하였다. 반면 노즐목 길이, 노즐끝단과 디퓨저 입구까지의 거리에 대한 영향은 미비한 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 CFD분석 자료를 토대로 인공신경망을 이용하여 더욱 구체적인 이젝터 혼합실 형상, 노즐 직경 23.8mm를 제시하였다.

수치 해석을 이용한 감압 회류 수조 설계 (Depressurized Circulating Water Channel Design Using CFD)

  • New high-speed depressurized circulating water channel was designed by using the CFD code. Flow in the channel has free surface and pressure in the test section can be depressed. In this study, Flow separation and bubble occurrence were considered in designing the contraction nozzle shape for better flow uniformity Tn the test section. To supplement velocity defect due to the free surface, nozzle injection system more effective in high-speed flow was installed instead of drum system. Necessary power and injection techniques were proposed. And guide vane arrangement was analyzed to reduce the flow resistance and keep quiet free surface from ´surging´. Wave absorber was devised to reduce the wave resistance and to prevent the entrainment of air to the diffuser.

  • In order to cool the turbine blade under high temperature operating conditions, the film-cooling method is generally applied. In this study, $CO_2$ was used as working fluid and it helped the operating system to prevent the loss of compressed air. The trapezoidal diffuser shape was adopted at the cross section of hole and the characteristics of heat flow with various working fluids were numerically studied. In particular, the different mixture ratios of $CO_2$, such as various density ratios of 0.2, 0.8, and 1.0, respectively, were considered. Numerical results are graphically depicted with various conditions.

전산유체해석을 이용한 축류펌프의 성능예측 (Prediction of Axial Pump Performance Using CFD Analysis)

  • The CFD analysis of the three-dimensional turbulent flow in the impeller and diffuser of an axial flow pump was performed. Not only the design point but also the off-design points were computed. The results were compared with available experimental data in terms of head generated. At the design point, the analysis accurately predicted the experimental head value. In the range of the higher flow rates, the results were also in very good agreement with the experimental data, not only in absolute value but also in term of slope. Although experimental data to be compared were not available in the range of the lower flow rates, the results well described the S-shape performance curve of the axial pump characteristic.

광 확산용 2차 렌즈 설계 기술 연구 (The Research of the 2nd Lens Design for Wide Angle Distribution)

  • Recently an optical diffusion of LED lamps has been studied actively. In this paper, the second lens applied to a cover of the LED lamp was analytically designed to having a wide angle distribution of light without diffuser characteristic by dispersing agent. In this process, We found a major factors that can help improve the performance of the lens. It is the refractive power of the lens, the Mie particle density of phosphor, and the arrangement of the LED. Through the final simulation, we can see the LED lamp is possible to get wide angle light distribution by proper source modeling and second lens designing. Also, we can see this simulated results are entirely consistent with measured data for light distribution. In this research, we present the shape of the second lens with wide angle distribution and derive the important factors for the second lens design.

  • As the major sources of interior noise of train at running condition are the wheel/rail contact noise, the traction motor's noise and the driving gear's noise and these noise sources are transmitted through the car body, the noises of HVAC and air duct can be ignored. But the interior noise of train at standstill condition is decided by HVAC's noise and noise from the diffuser through the air duct. the interior noise prediction of train at standstill condition should be performed considering the shape of air duct, the air velocity and noise reduction property inside the air duct. But it is hard to estimate the interior noise level by the numerical method. Therefore train maker predict the interior noise level using The commercial noise prediction program. This paper introduce the noise prediction method of the train at standstill condition using the commercial program appling the ray tracing method and statistical energy analysis.
