망외부성이 존재하고 수직적으로 차별화된 제품 간의 호환성 전략 분석 (Analysis of Compatibility Strategy between Vertically Differentiated Products under Network Externality)

  • It is a general phenomenon for manufacturers to provide vertically differentiated product line for more profit through improved market coverage. For such manufacturers, the compatibility between vertically differentiated products is an important decision issue. Some manufacturers provide full compatibility between high and low version products, whereas some provide only downward compatibility for the purpose of recommending high version product. In this study, the two representative compatibility strategies, full or downward, between vertically differentiated products produced by a single manufacturer are analyzed, especially under network externality and in the viewpoint of profit maximization. To do this we used a market model which captures the basic essence of vertical differentiation and network externality. Based on the proposed market model, the profit maximizing solutions are derived and numerically analyzed. The results can be summarized as follows : (1) Regardless of compatibility strategy, under network externality, vertical differentiation is always advantageous in terms of profit. (2) The full compatibility strategy is shown to be the most advantageous in terms of profit. In addition, it is necessary to make quality difference between differentiated products as wide as possible to maximize profit. (3) To gradually drive low version product out of the market and shift the weight pendulum of market to high version product, it is shown that the downward compatibility strategy is essential. Unlike intuition, however, it is also shown that in order to drive low version product out of market, it is necessary to raise the quality of the low version product rather than to lower it.

한류 증진을 위한 CGV의 성장 전략: 중국 시장을 중심으로 (CGV's China Market-Oriented Growth Strategy for the Korean Wave)

  • 본 연구의 주요 목적은 최근 한류 증진과 국내 영화상영관(플랫폼)의 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위해 추진중인 CGV의 해외 성과를 분석하는데 있다. 특히, 본 연구는 CGV가 경영진의 기업가적 지향성과 차별화된 시장 진입 전략을 토대로 어떻게 세계 영화 최대 시장인 중국에서 시장 점유율을 높였는지에 관해 초점을 두고 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 중국 영화상영 산업에서 진행 중인 CGV의 시장 진출 및 확대 과정을 바탕으로 주요 성공 요인이 무엇인지 도출하고자 깊이 있는 사례연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구 결과, CGV는 시장 상황에 따라 각기 다른 차별화된 성장 전략을 각국에서 펼치고 있었으며, 이와 관련하여 각 국가에서 성공할 수 있는 주요 요인도 다르다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 다만, 가장 중요한 점은 수익이 아닌 한류 증진이라는 비전을 제시하고 이를 실현하고자 차별화된 시장 진입전략을 추동한 경영진의 노력이었다. 이와 같은 경영진의 기업가적 지향성은 중국 시장에서 높은 브랜드 충성도와 시장 점유율 확대에 기여했다. 더 나아가 CGV의 활발한 해외 진출은 국내 영화상영 산업의 글로벌화에 기여했으며, 한류를 더 많이 확산시키는데 긍정적인 역할이 되고 있다. 마지막으로, 연구결과와 관련된 학문적 기여도 및 실무적 시사점을 결론 부분에 제시하였다.

  • This paper examines the long-run social welfare maximization problems facing public utilities, which includes consideration of the cost of capital or other fixed costs of production, from which it derives optimal investment decisions in a reliability differentiated pricing based market. Reliability differentiated pricing policies lead to straightforward mathematical results on optimal investment decisions in generation and transmission expansion planning. This paper presents the mathematical conditions for optimal investment decisions.

  • 성숙기에 접어든 홈쇼핑업계에서 CJ오쇼핑은 차별화된 상품구색과 다양한 프로그램 및 플랫폼을 제공하고 대 고객 서비스를 강화함으로써 좋은 성과를 거두고 있다. 본 사례에서는 CJ홈쇼핑이 새로운 변화가 필요했던 이유는 무엇이었고 어떠한 변화전략들을 실행하였는지를 살펴보았다. 특히 2008년 당시 도출했던 문제점들을 토대로 어떠한 새로운 비전을 수립하면서 사명을 바꾸었는지, 소매믹스측면에서는 어떠한 차별화 전략을 실행했는지, 그 성과는 어떻게 나타났는지에 대해 고찰하였다. 마지막 부분에서는 CJ오쇼핑의 향후 과제와 방향에 대해서 논의하였다.

  • 최근 시장환경의 변화와 음악을 전공하는 음악학도가 많아지면서 음악학원이 위기를 맞고 있다. 무엇보다도 결정적인 이유는 음악경영의 경쟁자가 늘고 있고, 출산율 감소로 학원생이 줄어들어 학원 시장의 규모가 잠재적으로 축소되고 있다. 이에 따라 음악학원도 경영의 마인드가 필요하다. 본 연구는 음악학원의 운영의 성과인 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하고자 한다. 본 연구의 내용은 3가지 영역으로 창업의 성공요인, 창업동기, 경영성과와 관련된 관련 내용을 살펴보고, 음악학원을 창업한 원장들을 대상으로 설문지를 통해서 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 분석결과 경영성과에는 다양한 변수에 의해서 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 음악학원도 벤처 경영의 접근방식이 필요하며, 음악학원, 거주환경, 상황적인 각각의 환경에 적합한 마케팅 전략이 필요하다.

1인 가구의 소비성향 분석을 통한 홈퍼니싱 제품전략 연구 (A Study of Home-furnishing Products Strategy through the Consumption Tendency Analysis of Single Household)

  • Single households currently account for 26.5% of all households and their number is expected to continue to rise, reaching 34.5% by 2035. An analysis of the consumption trends and needs of single households shows that they are rising as a new consumer group with a focus on investment on the individual and favouring: small but high-tech products: efficient use of limited resources: safety and peace of mind: self-improvement and leisure. Products which meet such demands are having an impact on the growth of home-furnishing market. An analysis of companies in Korea's home-furnishing market, with examples like the lifestyle company IKEA, shows a variety of brands such as SPA brand, furniture specialist, distributor and character products. And yet most are OEM products which lack differentiated product lines and compete with similar display and distribution structure. We needs the Single household consumption tendency of home-furnishing market and differentiation strategy through product analysis. In order to increase the value of companies in the home-furnishing market, in addition to differentiated design, product competitiveness must aspire to higher customer satisfaction with easy assembly, innovation in logistics, innovative sales methods such as virtual-reality simulation for products and space, individually-tailored furniture for the needs of single household and products which combine smart technology. For home-grown home-furnishing brands to have competitiveness, they must leverage on the strengths of the industry, offering differentiated and competitive products in a wider range of areas with convergence functions as well as differentiation in consumer interface and application of advancing technology; in-depth product research is called for.

  • The Conventional market located in Yangyang, Gangwon is currently facing the crisis, so it needs a new strategy to break a slowdown. Nevertheless, the local residents are looking forward to activating Yangyang conventional markets. To this end, the associates shall utilize their advantages of Yangyang conventional markets to supply cheap and good quality to guests with differentiated strategies. The purpose of the study is to analyze Yangyang conventional markets with architectural aspect and to provide conventional markets in each region with alternatives for revitalization.

수직적으로 차별화된 제품시장 내에서 유통업체의 다자간 협상전략에 관한 연구 (Distributor's Multilateral Bargaining Strategy in the Vertically Differentiated Product Market)

  • In this paper, we study the bargaining strategy of a distributor who sells vertically differentiated, i.e. high and low brand products. We derive and analyze the equilibrium solutions for both simultaneous and sequential bargaining games among the distributor, the high brand product manufacturer and the low brand product manufacturer. The result shows that the optimal bargaining strategy for the distributor heavily depends on the relative quality and price level of the low brand product comparing to those of the high brand product. It is also shown that, for more bargaining profit, the distributor has strong motivation to prefer a low brand product which has lower quality level per unit price.

  • This paper reviews technology for power quality differentiated supply in power system. Since price and power quality has been single goods in the light of customer-side view point but hereafter it is essential for power market to introduce multiple goods which is composed of differentiated combination between them. This paper should like to work out strategy for power quality differentiated supply in domestic power system by comparison characteristics of differentiated background and its relevant various theory.

시니어 세대를 위한 프리미엄 데님 디자인 개발 - 하이브리드 얀 커버링 복합사 직물을 활용하여 - (Development of Premium Denim Design for the Senior Generation - Hybrid Yarn Using Conjugated Dyeing -)

  • As the development of denim products using new differentiated materials plays an important role regardless of their target age groups, there is an increasing need for the development of premium denim designs for senior women using various materials. As part of the strategy to develop such a design for the senior generation, a market survey was performed regarding commercially available premium denim products in the market, and the current trends in the denim market were researched and analyzed to make use of the results in design development. In addition, a differentiated material, hybrid yarn using conjugated dyeing (HYCD) was applied to use several washing techniques capable of highlighting the unique features of denim clothing. The design of four items including a jacket, vest, capri pants and long pants were suggested. These items were differentiated from other products by emphasizing their details such as stitching and pockets. In light of the current consumer trend to select denim jeans on the basis of their fashion-ability (e.g., silhouette or color) rather than practicality or price, it is considered meaningful to develop high value added, premium jean products for the senior generation using diverse materials and details. At the same time, performing further studies designed to demonstrate the stability and reliability of the developed products through consumers' comparative assessment is required.
