웨이브렛변환을 이용한 영상으로의 서명데이터 삽입 (Embedding a Signature to Pictures under Wavelet Transformation)

  • 본 논문에서는 영상을 다중 해상도로 표현하는 직교 웨이브렛변환에서, 비밀스럽게 서명데이터를 영상에 삽입하는 방법을 제안한다. 그 원리는 영상의 다중해상도표현에 있어서 차분출력에 편중(집중)이 있음에 주목하여, 그 특징을 이용하여 서명비트계열을 화상에 삽입한다. 이 때, $256{\times}256$화소로 되는 농담화상으로 대략 6K바이트 정도의 문자정보를 합성할 수 있다. 이 방법은 영상의 저작권을 표시하는 서명데이터뿐만 아니라, 영상의 저자나 사용조건, 또는 영상 그 자체의 속성정보를 포함할 수 있어, 영상데이터베이스의 검색 등에 있어서도 유사영상의 식별을 용이하게 할 수 있는 등의 응용을 고려할 수 있다.

An Improved Poincaré-like Carleman Linearization Approach for Power System Nonlinear Analysis

  • In order to improve the performance of analysis, it is important to consider the nonlinearity in power system. The Carleman embedding technique (linearization procedure) provides an effective approach in reduction of nonlinear systems. In the approach, a group of differential equations in which the state variables are formed by the original state variables and the vector monomials one can build with products of positive integer powers of them, is constructed. In traditional Carleman linearization technique, the tensor matrix is truncated to form a square matrix, and then regular linear system theory is used to solve the truncated system directly. However, it is found that part of nonlinear information is neglected when truncating the Carleman model. This paper proposes a new approach to solve the problem, by combining the Poincar$\acute{e}$ transformation with the Carleman linearization. Case studies are presented to verify the proposed method. Modal analysis shows that, with traditional Carleman linearization, the calculated contribution factors are not symmetrical, while such problems are avoided in the improved approach.

Efficient analysis of SSI problems using infinite elements and wavelet theory

  • In this paper, Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) effect is investigated using a new and integrated approach. Faster solution of time dependant differential equation of motion is achieved using numerical representation of wavelet theory while dynamic Infinite Elements (IFE) concept is utilized to effectively model the unbounded soil domain. Combination of the wavelet theory with IFE concept lead to a robust, efficient and integrated technique for the solution of complex problems. A direct method for soil-structure interaction analysis in a two dimensional medium is also presented in time domain using the frequency dependent transformation matrix. This matrix which represents the far field region is constructed by assembling stiffness matrices of the frequency dependant infinite elements. It maps the problem into the time domain where the equations of motion are to be solved. Accuracy of results obtained in this study is compared to those obtained by other SSI analysis techniques. It is shown that the solution procedure discussed in this paper is reliable, efficient and less time consuming as compared to other existing concepts and procedures.

Modelling of chloride diffusion in saturated concrete

  • The process of chloride ingress in saturated concrete was presented by a previous study that used a mathematical model for the same as that concrete. This model is to be studied chloride ion diffusion which is considered as a chemical phenomenon and is to be represented the chloride diffusion process to be a nonlinear partial differential equation (PDE). In this paper, this nonlinear PDE is solved by the Kirchhoff transformation to render into a linear PDE. This linear PDE associated with initial and boundary conditions is also solved by the Laplace transformation to obtain an analytical solution. To verify the serviceability and reliability of this proposed method, the practical application should be supplied. The input parameters were cited from the previous study. The free chloride concentration profiles obtained by the analytical solution of mathematical model for saturated concretes after 24 and 120 hrs of exposure were compared with the previous study. The predicted results obtained from proposed method have a tendency with experimental results obtained by the previous study and trend toward numerical results approximated by finite difference technique.

기계적합금화법에 의해 제조된 NiAl 나노금속간화합물 소결체의 인성 및 제진특성 (Toughness and Damping Properties of Nanostructured Ni-Al Alloys Produced by Mechanical Alloying Methods)

  • NiAl alloy powders were prepared by mechanical alloying method and bulk specimens were produced using hot isostatic pressing techniques. This study focused on the transformation behavior and properties of Ni-Al mechanically alloyed powders and bulk alloys. Transformation behavior was investigated by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), XRD and TEM. Particle size distribution and microstructures of mechanically alloyed powders were studied by particle size analyzer and scanning electron microscope (SEM). After 10 hours milling, XRB peak broadening appeared at the alloyed powders with compositions of Ni-36at%Al to 40at%Al. The NiAl and $Ni_3Al$ intermetallic compounds were formed after water quenching of solution treated powders and bulk samples at $1200^{\circ}C$, but the martensite phase was observed after liquid nitrogen quenching of solution treated powders. However, the formation of $Ni_3Al$ intermetallic compounds were not restricted by fast quenching into liquid nitrogen. It is considered to be caused by fast diffusion of atoms for the formation of stable $\beta$(NiAl) phase and $Ni_3Al$ due to nano sized grains during quenching. Amounts of martensite phase increased as the composition of aluminium component decreased in the Ni-Al alloy, which resulted in the increasing damping properties.

Entropy Generation Minimization in MHD Boundary Layer Flow over a Slendering Stretching Sheet in the Presence of Frictional and Joule Heating

  • In the present paper, we study the entropy analysis of boundary layer flow over a slender stretching sheet under the action of a non uniform magnetic field that is acting perpendicular to the flow direction. The effects of viscous dissipation and Joule heating are included in the energy equation. Using similarity transformation technique the momentum and thermal boundary layer equations to a system of nonlinear differential equations. Numerical solutions are obtained using the shooting and fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. The expressions for the entropy generation number and Bejan number are also obtained using a suggested similarity transformation. The main objective of this article is to investigate the effects of different governing parameters such as the magnetic parameter ($M^2$), Prandtl number (Pr), Eckert number (Ec), velocity index parameter (m), wall thickness parameter (${\alpha}$), temperature difference parameter (${\Omega}$), entropy generation number (Ns) and Bejan number (Be). All these effects are portrayed graphically and discussed in detail. The analysis reveals that entropy generation reduces with decreasing wall thickness parameter and increasing temperature difference between the stretching sheet and the fluid outside the boundary layer. The viscous and magnetic irreversibilities are dominant in the vicinity of the stretching surface.

니켈-타이타늄 호선의 상전이 온도 범위와 상전이 행동 비교 (Comparison of transition temperature range and phase transformation behavior of nickel-titanium wires)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 martensitic (M-NiTi), austenitic (A-NiTi) 및 thermodynamic nickel-titanium wire (T-NiTi)의 물리적 특징과 상전이 정도를 평가하는 것이다. 재료는 $0.016\;{\times}\;0.022$ inch의 M-NiTi (Nitinol Classic, NC), A-NiTi (Optimalloy, OPTI)와 T-NiTi (Neo-Sentalloy, NEO)이었으며, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), 3점굽힘실험, X-ray diffraction (XRD), 미세구조 분석을 시행하였으며, ANOVA test로 통계처리하였다. DSC분석 결과 OPTI와 NEO는 heating curve에서 2개의 peak, cooling curve에서 1개의 peak를 보였고, NC는 heating과 cooling curve에서 1개의 넓고 약한 peak를 보였다. Austenite finishing ($A_f$) 온도는 OPTI $19.7^{\circ}C$, NEO $24.6^{\circ}C$, NC $52.4^{\circ}C$였다. 3점굽힘실험 결과 NC, OPTI, NEO 모두 residual deflection을 보였으며, NC와 OPTI의 load range가 NEO보다 컸다. XRD와 미세구조 분석결과 OPTI와 NEO는 Martensite finishing ($M_f$)에서 martensite와 austenite가 섞여 있음이 관찰되었다. NEO와 OPTI는 NC보다 개선된 물리적 특징과 상전이 행태를 보였다. NiTi 호선의 물리적, 온도에 따른 행태는 예상되었던 상전이 정도에 의해 완벽하게 설명되지 않았으며, 그 이유는 복잡한 martensite variants의 존재와 열과 stress에 의해 유도된 독립적인 상전이에 기인한다고 생각된다.

2,3,7,8-TCDD의 세포형질전환 및 내성획득에 관여하는 세포내 인자에 관한 연구 (Studies on Cellular Factors Responsible for 2,3,7,8-TCDD Resistency and Cellular Transformation)

  • To enhance our understanding of toxicity mediated through the pathway by which TCDD stimulates gene expression, we have investigated genes whose expressions are changed after treatment with TCDD and/or MNNG in human Chang liver cell. First, we treated with MNNG and TCDD for two weeks to transform human Chang liver cell. We obtained cell looks like to be transformed and compared the differential gene expression by using cDNA chip (Macrogen) which carrys genes related with signal transduction pathways, oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, etc. We found that TCDD up- or down-regulated 203 and 111 genes including oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes in human Chang liver cell two fold or more, respectively. Second, we compared the differential gene expression after treatment with TCDD only by using cDNA chip (Superarray) which carrys genes related with cell cycle regulations, and found that TCDD up regulated genes related with cell proliferation as well as cell growth inhibition in human Chang liver cell two fold or more, respectively. These results suggest that toxicity induced by TCDD may reflect sustained alterations in the expression of many genes and that the changes reflect both direct and indirect effects of TCDD.

저서어자원량의 음향추정에 있어서 해저검출 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (Improvement in Bottom Detection for Hydroacoustic Assessment of Demersal Fish)

  • 계획어군심지기를 이용하여 자원량을 추정할 경우 해저검출은 매우 중요한 요소이다. 특히 어군이 해저에 가까이 분포하면 할수록, 해저와 어군을 분리하여 책분하는 것은 자원량의 추정정도의 신뢰도를 좌우하게 한다. 본 연구에서는 종래의 해저검출법을 보완하기 위해, 새로운 해저검출법을 개발하여, 그 유효성에 대하여 고찰하였으며, 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 에코레벨의 최대변화점을 이용하여 해저검출을 행한 경우 고정도로, 나아가 레벨 변동과 무관하여 안정한 해저검출법으로서 유효하다. 2) 전압최대변화율법에 의하면, 해저 오프셋는 해저검출위치로부터 0.45m이내에서 설정가능하고, 펄스파형, 해저지형과 음향 빔 등에 의존하여 결정된다.

시차주사열량측정법에 의한 니켈기 초내열 합금의 열분석 (Thermal Analysis of Nickel-Base Superalloys by Differential Scanning Calorimetry)

  • Appropriate thermo-mechanical properties of nickel-based superalloys are achieved by heat treatment, which induces precipitation and solid solution hardening; thus, information on the temperature ranges of precipitation and dissolution of the precipitates is essential for the determination of the heat treatment condition. In this study, thermal analyses of nickel-based superalloys were performed by differential scanning calorimetry method under conditions of various heating rates of 5, 10, 20, or 40K/min in a temperature range of 298~1573K. Precipitation and dissolution temperatures were determined by measuring peak temperatures, constructing trend lines, and extrapolating those lines to the zero heating rate to find the exact temperature under isothermal condition. Determined temperatures for the precipitation reactions were 813, 952, and 1062K. Determined onset, peak, and offset temperatures of the first dissolution reaction were 1302, 1388, and 1406K, respectively, and those values of the second dissolution reaction were 1405, 1414, and 1462K. Determined solvus temperature was 1462K. The study showed that it was possible to use a simple method to obtain accurate phase transition temperatures under isothermal condition.
