Interdisciplinary Literaure Analysis between Cosmetic Container Design and Customer Purchasing Intention

  • Purpose: The cosmetic industry is one of the significant sectors of the economy that has attracted a wide range of players due to the fast growth rate. The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of container design in influencing consumer purchase intention, pulling together collected textual data regarding two factors. No other research conduct to measure this relationship. Research design, data and methodology: Using web data searching tools, the present researcher coded the data obtained. The web content analysis platform is useful because it allows a researcher to examine themes in texts and, in a way, allows an ideal way to understand links within categories of data. Results: Different components of container design have different impacts on the purchase behavior of different consumers. The most crucial container design components include; shape, color, material and textual, and artistic features. These components are used by designers for different purposes and have different levels of appeal to the consumer. Conclusions: Manufacturers in the cosmetic industry must invest in designing packaging products that are more appealing in shape and color while using high-quality materials to packaging these products. The packaging containers should also be designed to incorporate textual and artistic features that provide more information regarding the products.

Pre-ozonation for removal of algal organic matters (AOMs) and their disinfection by-products (DBPs) formation potential

  • As a result of algal bloom, algal organic matters (AOMs) are rapidly increased in surface water. AOMs can act as precursors for the formation of harmful disinfection by-products (DBPs), which are serious problems in water treatment and human health. The main aim of this study is to characterize the formation of DBPs from AOMs produced by three different algae such as Oscillatoria sp., Anabaena sp., and Microcystis aeruginosa under different algal growth phases. In an effort to examine formation of DBPs during chlorination, chloroform (TCM), dichloroacetic acid (DCAA) and trichloroacetic acid (TCAA) were determined under various CT (product of disinfectant concentration and contact time, mg·min/L) values. Generally, the amounts of DBPs tended to increase with increasing CT values at the most growth phases. However, there was a significant difference between the amounts of DBPs produced by the three algal species at different growth phases. This result is likely due to the chemical composition variability of AOM from different algae at different growth phases. In addition, the effect of pre-ozonation on coagulation for the removal of AOMs from three algal species was investigated. The pre-ozonation had a positive effect on the coagulation/flocculation of AOMs.

환경보호 측면에서 본 리필제품의 소비자이용 및 소비자인지에 관한 연구 (Consumer Use and Awareness of Refill Products Examined in Perspective of Environmental Protection)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand consumer use and awareness of refill-products in perspective of environmental protections. One hundread seventy-four married women living around Cheongju-city were selected because married women are the major buyers of refill-procucts. The major findings were as follows: 1) While detergents refill-products were found to be the most favorable one, cosmetics refill-products were found to be the worst favorable. 2) Married women complained different quality and quantity between refill-products and nonrefill-products in general. 3) Price was the most important reason to use refill-products rather than environmental protection. 4)The more respondents had refill-products information, the more respondents used refill-proeucts 5) The level of consumer awareness of refill products examined in perspective of enviornmental protection was found to be very high(3.3/4). 6)There was no significant relatioships between consumer use and awareness of refill-products examined in perspective of environmental protection.

  • Transportation and logistics of agricultural products have been one of the major interests of many researches. Most of researches have been limited to presuming these as a first dimensional process or considering only economic value of agricultural products at each stage of logistics. However, the particular characteristics of agricultural products, such as quality change during transportation or extensively scattered origins, require examining these problems as a whole system. Network model has been adopted to represent nodes, which stand for spatial location of demand and supply of agricultural products, and communication between these nodes. Based on network theory and advanced marketing potential function, an optimal routes selection model is developed. The model employed network simplex method for routes optimization. The application of the model focused on transportation network organization to reflect different market prices for different locations and resulted in optimum routes and profit improvement of the applied agricultural product.

추출 조건을 달리한 감초부산물 추출물의 성분 특성 (Component Characteristics of Each Extract Prepared by Different Extract Methods from By-products of Glycyrrhizia uralensis)

  • Solid contents, free sugars, phenlic compounds and glycyrrhizin of extracts obtained from by-products of Glycyrrhizia uralensis by three different methods, i.e., shaking, heating, and static methods, were determined. Solid contents of extracts obtained by shaking, heating and static method were 15.6%, 15.0% and 5.3%, respectively. Phenolic compound contents of them were 11.33 mg/100 mL, 11.21 mg/100mL and 10.15 mg/100 mL. Main free sugars in the extracts from the by-products of G. uralensis were fructose, glucose, sucrose, and maltose. Glycyrrhizin content of the extracts from the by-products of G. uralensis were 2.79%, 3.54% and 0.63%, respectively. Extract obtained by the shaking methods had an ability of donating electron to DPPH. The relative antioxidant effects of th extract obtained from the shaking method showed 70% inhibitory effect of peroxidation on egg yolk lecithin.

고추의 생산 및 소비 실태에 대한 비교 분석 (The analysis on the production and consumption of red-pepper in Korea)

  • Even though red pepper is one of the most important agricultural products in Korean, the red pepper industry is decaying due to several reasons. In order to solve this problem, more specific studies are required. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the production and consumption sector of Korean red pepper market and to present the implications for the promotion of Korean red pepper industry. Survey analyses to producers and consumers were conducted for this research. The results of studies present a few findings: First, Korean consumers consume foreign red pepper products as well as domestic red pepper products, Second, more RPPC (Red Pepper Processing Complex) should be introduced, Third, WTP (Willingness To Pay) of consumers to red pepper products is different from WTP of producers, Forth, Consumers' requirements to promote the red pepper market is also different from producers' strategies.

  • Twelve different derivatives were synthesised from chitin/chitosan[1, 2, 3]. Their structures have been determined by different physical methods. The bioassay screening on antifungal and antibacterial activities of all these compounds showed that most of them had significant activity and they can inhibite the growth of some fungi and bacterias : E. coli, S. pyogenes, F. oxysporum, P. oryzae, that caused the spoilage of fresh fruits and foods. Furthermore, all of these compounds are non-toxic (LD$\_$50/>50g/kg) and can be applied for food preservation.

Warranties for Products with Varying Usage Intensity

  • Most warranty studies assume that the usage intensity is the same for all buyers. However, in real life the usage intensity varies across the population of buyers. In the general case, one can divide the population into $\kappa$ categories. This has implications for manufacturers of products. Should a manufacturer produce one product and offer different warranties for the $\kappa$ groups or produce different products (one for each group) and offer the same warranty. A warranty cost analysis is needed to choose between these options. The analysis complicated by factors such as adverse selection , buyers attitude to risk and the price structure. In this paper we develop models to study the expected warranty cost for products with free replacement warranty with varying usage intensity. Numerical examples are presented.

미생물제제 처리가 토양 미생물상의 변화 및 배추의 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Microbial Product on Microorganisms in Soil and Growth of Chinese Cabbage)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of different concentrations of microbial products on growth of chinese cabbage and microorganisms in soil. Two different levels of microbial products, such as 50 times and 100 times diluted solutions of chitosan, wood vinegar and EM activity liquid, were treated for foliar application. the results were summarized as follows : Among foliar applications of microbial products, 100 times diluted solution of chitosan was effective on growth of chinese cabbage comparing to other levels of dilutions and untreated control plot. The number of microorganism in the soil tended to increase under the treatment of microbial products compared to control plot. Especially, the numbers of the bacteria and actinomycetes were estimated $73.67{\times}10^3$ CFU/g and $34.00{\times}10^3$ CFU/g, respectively, under the treatment of 100 times diluted solution of chitosan.

수분활성도 조절에 의한 육제품의 장기저장에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Long-Term Preservable Meat Products Based on the Water Activity Control)

  • This experiment was carried out to develop long-term preservable meat products by controlling a water activity which has a potential inhibitory effects on the growth of microorganism and germination of spore. For this purpose the accuracy of instrument for the measurement of water activity, electric hygrometer was used for this study as well as water activity of final products were investigated according to the various amounts of different kinds of additives. Spore of Bacillus spp, Clostridium sporogenes and Cl. botulinum were inoculated to the meat products with different aw and their growth states in $25^{\circ}C$ were observed to find out the lowest aw which inhibit their growth (aw 0.950).
