The findings of the study are as follows: First, the importance and influence of the palate on evaluating wine quality attained the highest score. The nose, appearance, and 'others' also earned significant points in the respective order. Second, when we examined the servers' differences in perception about the importance of each factors on evaluating wine quality, significant distinctions were shown among males and females, and those in their 20's and 30's. Visual perception and social skill were evaluated for 18-24-year-olds, who are in late adolescence, and were analyzed for gender differences and correlations with chronological age. This study found that there was a difference in visual perceptual function according to gender in late adolescence, and it was significantly higher in men. There was no significant difference in social skills according to gender. However, there was a significantly positive correlation between chronological age and visual perception, but there was no correlation with social skills. These findings provide novel information regarding the developmental course of visual perception and social skill in late adolescence.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the relationship of the elder abuse perception with the caregiving stress of adult caregivers and to investigate influencing factors on them. Methods: Data were collected from 398 adults aged 30-65, and analyzed with the SPSS/WIN program. Results: In the elder abuse perception, there were differences in age, marital status, education, job, person to be taken care of, age of elderly mother, duration of caregiving, economic status and health status of elderly parents. As for the caregiving stress, there were differences in age, marital status, income, health status, relationship with the elder, person to be taken care of, economic status and health status of elder parents. Influencing factors on the elder abuse perception included caregiving stress, education, marital status, health status of elders, and economic status of parents (30%). On the caregiving stress, elder abuse perception, economic status of elders, and relationship between caregivers and elders were influencing factors (24%). • The objective of this study was to explore the role of familiarity in cross-cultural product perception and perception changes according to food systems (hot sauce and spicy-chicken) in Korean and US consumers. Free choice profiling was conducted by Korean and US consumers on four spicy-chicken samples made using four hot sauce samples. Half of the hot sauce samples were selected to be more familiar to US consumers and vice versa to Korean consumers. A previous study that investigated cross-cultural perceptions of the same four hot sauce samples in US and Korean consumers was incorporated in this study. For distinct sample differences, US and Korean consumers perceived products similarly. However, for less obvious differences, flavor familiarity seemed to affect consumers' product perceptions. In addition, product perceptions changed more dramatically according to food systems for familiar samples in each country. The findings of this study show that consumers' product perception can be affected by flavor familiarities.

  • In addition to technical skills and competencies, communication competence has been identified to be important to engineering students who will be drivers of innovation in a rapidly changing society. Drawing on the previous studies, this research examines the results of an empirical exploration of engineering students' perception of speaking ability and their communicative competence. To date, there has been most of the research conducted on 'writing' (e.g., its educational process, class designs, ability, etc.) for engineering students. However, relatively little attention has been paid to engineering students' speaking ability perception and their competence diagnosis. This study relies on quantitative data obtained from one survey questionnaire and one test conducted respectively. The sample consists of 386 engineering students as well as 481 non-engineering students for the 1st survey. And to measure communicative competence, 150 engineering students as well as 136 non-engineering students participated in the test. Our findings show that firstly, there were significant differences in perception of speaking ability by majors and gender. Whereas there was no difference in the same survey by grade. Secondly, there was a close and significant relationship between sub-factors of speaking ability. Thirdly, there were significant differences in communicative competence by majors. Whereas there was no difference by gender and grade. Fourthly, there was a close and significant relationship between sub-factors of communicative competence. These findings are expected to provide an explanation for the improvement on engineering students' speaking ability and to encourage the participation in extra-curricular activities and programs in engineering school.

  • As the importance of rural landscapes has recently emerged due to an increase in number of urban to rural migrants into suburban area in Korea, this study empirically grasps the differences in subjective landscapes perceptions between native and non-native residents. and tried to explore new landscape management possibilities through the role of each residents group. To this end, based on the data collected through the 'photo-elicitation with walking', the residents' landscape perception objects, perception factors, and perceived feelings are derived, and then the differences and characteristics of landscapes perception between native and non-native residents group were analyzed. As a result, native residents perceived everyday landscapes relatively meaningfully and provided abundant information in all aspects, while non-native residents mainly recognized characteristic landscapes and responded more sensitively to visual and environmental perception factors than the natives. Non-native residents also showed strong willingness to improve the degraded landscapes. These results are expected to provide a basis for exploring the role of residents in rural landscape planning and management in the future.

  • Purpose : Various research studies are needed to raise the perception of the CE of Korean physical therapists. However, there are little studies have been conducted, and relatively few studies are available to read on online. The purpose of the study is to find out the differences in the perception of CE according to the physical therapist's academic background. In this way, this article intends to strengthen the perception of the CE of health-care workers, such as physical therapists and occupational therapists in the Republic of Korea so that contributing to the development of national health. Methods : Present study showed that 431 out of 563 people who participated in the two meetings of CE conducted by the Gwangju Metropolitan City of the Korea Physical Therapy Association responded in the survey in 2015. Among them, only 238 people were surveyed on the awareness of CE in 2014, excluding 181 questionnaires due to poor responses and 112 questionnaires that did not participate in CE in the previous year. Descriptive analyses were conducted to identify the perception among those who experienced CE, and simple linear regression analysis was performed using dummy variables to identify awareness of the education based on their academic background. Results : Question 3 (p=.000, R2=.067) was significant in the significance test of the regression equation for perception of the CE (p<.05). Question 1 (p=.687), 2 (p=.066), 4 (p=.430), 5 (p=.085), and 6 (p=.054), 7 (p=.111), 8 (p=.088), 9 (p=.213), 10 (p=.191) and 11 (p=. 169), the regression formula was not significant (p>.05). Conclusion : Physical therapists had a moderate perception of the need for a CE and had the idea that improvements were required in what was provided in that education. In addition, there was no statistically significant difference, although there was a greater awareness of CE in the Master of Science Course or higher than college or university graduates.
