수치해석 기법을 이용한 발전용 단조 로타의 제조 공정 분석 및 공정 설계 (The manufacturing process analysis and design of the forged turbine rotor by using the numerical analysis technique)

  • Large-scale low-alloy steel shafts, used in the manufacture of steam turbine, are produced by ingot making, forging and heat treatemtn processes. The numerical analysis techniques are introduced to analyze and design the working conditions in each process. The solidification of a steel ingot is studied through the finite element method. The open die press forging and quenching process are simulated by viscoplastic and elastic-plastic finite element method, respectively. Thus numerical analysis techniques are very useful tools to study favorable working conditions for better and more desirable product quality.

노비드스탬핑 공법을 이용한 공정최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Process Optimization by a Beadless Stamping)

  • As the shape of stamped part is complicated and as the trend toward light weight continues, the higher level of difficulty is required in making stamping die because of inevitably poor formability. The poor formability can be improved if the material flow during the stamping is carefully controlled. Application of drawbead became commonsense used to retard metal flow of blank into the die cavity at the region where wrinkle is expected. In the study, the concept of beadless stamping process is proposed and the method how to realize the beadless stamping process is presented. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by the application of the real auto part.

  • In Micro injection process, it is needed to the technique of making micro die, Rapid Thermal Pressing (RTP) and other techniques. Those techniques are independent. But the mutual connected system of techniques is needed. The target of this paper is the design of micro mold and the development of the entire micro injection techniques for functional polymer.

  • This paper discusses the methods of computing tool-paths for machining free-form surfaces on 3-axis CNC machines in die and mould making. In computational view this paper describes the characteristics and issues of the geometric information and the shape, which make computing tool-paths difficult. Important points that should be considered in devising a computing method are also discussed. A newly implemented method is explained and compared with an old method for a commercial CAM system. The implemented method is used in a commercial CAM system and the computing time for an example is presented.

  • The intensive care unit (ICU) is the most common place to die. Also, ethical conflicts among stakeholders occur frequently in the ICU. Thus, ICU clinicians should be competent in all aspects for ethical decision-making. Major sources of conflicts are behavioral issues, such as verbal abuse or poor communication between physicians and nurses, and end-of-life care issues including a lack of respect for the patient's autonomy. The ethical conflicts are significantly associated with the job strain and burn-out syndrome of healthcare workers, and consequently, may threaten the quality of care. To improve the quality of care, handling ethical conflicts properly is emerging as a vital and more comprehensive area. The ICU physicians themselves need to be more sensitive to behavioral conflicts and enable shared decision making in end-of-life care. At the same time, the institutions and administrators should develop their processes to find and resolve common ethical problems in their ICUs.

  • The main object of this study is to develop a reliable FEM simulation technique for the analysis of Steel D&I Can bodymaking process using ABAQUS software. The body making process includes drawing, redrawing, 3 step ironing, doming. The newly developed FEM code in this research is based on the previous research achievement of POSCO for the drawing, redrawing and ironing process. The analysis is performed using two dimensional axisymmetric elements to analyze the punch force, the height of can, the distribution of residual stress and strain. The effect of blank thickness, gap of ironing die is also analyzed.

  • In these days, increase requirement of TEM (Transmission Electro Microscope) in not only scientific field but also industrial field. Because TEM can measure inner-structure of specimen a variety of materials like metal, bio. etc. When use TEM, specimen should be thin about 50nm. So making for thin specimen, use Ion milling device that include specimen holder. The holder generally made of Aluminium Aluminium holder is worn away easily. For this reason, using time of ion milling with aluminum holder is too short. To solve the problem, we replace aluminium holer to molybdenum alloy holder. In this paper, we design molybdenum alloy holer for CAM and modify CAD modeling for effective machining process. So we array a specimen 3 by 4 and setup orientation for one-shot machining process. Next we make a CAM program for machining. we making a decision two machining strategy that chose condition of tool-path method, step-down, step-over. etc. And then conduct machining using CNC milling machining center. To make clear difference between case.1 and case.2, we fixed machining conditions like feed-rate, main spindle rpm, etc. After machining, we confirm the condition of workpiece and analysis the problems case by case. Finally, case.2 work piece that superior than case.1 cutting with WEDM because that method can not ant mechanical effect on workpiece.

프라이 오토의 '자연적 구조'의 건축적 이념에 관한 연구 (A Study on the architectural Idea of 'the natural Construction' of Frei Otto)

  • Frei Otto, who is called to be the father of the ecological architecture, has shaped a peculiar architectural form style. In distance from the formalistic persistence to the modernist form canon and the postmodern tendencies to the self-representation of architects, Frei Otto has taken a more fundamentalistic position. Through the interdisciplinary researches on the self-organizing processes in the nature and the technical world Frei Otto could reason with architects, engineers, biologists, historians and philosophers the principle and structure of the natural construction that is applicable to the morphological research and the architectural construction research. In the middle of his architectural and scientific works is the idea of 'the natural construction' situated, and the basic principle and instrument of this 'Die Prinzip der Selbstbildung, The Principle of Self-making'. Founding himself on this principle, Frei Otto seeks after the new architectural form that is light, natural, flexible and variable by reasoning the typical formation process which refers to the common denominator of the self-making processes in the nature, the technique and the architecture. Despite his architecture is to be called to the anonymous, his architectural vision is headed toward the rationalistic form in accord with the natural laws. This study is purposed to elucidate the constellation to which his scientific attempts belong and the theoretical and methodological foundations of his architecture of 'the natural construction'.

신개발 국산 부가중합 실리콘 인상재의 젖음성과 기포발생에 관한 비교 연구

  • Wettability of addition silicone impression material is very important property for making an accurate restoration. This study examined theimpression quality in clinical condition and the wettability of impression material. Three commercially available addition silicone impression material (Imprint; 3M, USA, Examix; GC, Japan, Perfect; Handae, Korea) were studied. A total of 90 putty/wash impressions of semi-dried premolars and wet molar teeth were examined for void production in impression body. The percentae of the sulcus reproduction ability of each material was calculated from the sulcus depths of cross-sectioned casts from the impressions with stereomicroscope. Three impression materials were used to produce die stone casts from vcid entrapment die. Voids in the stone casts were counted with the stereomicroscpe. From the experiment, the following results were obtained: 1. In direct observation, Imprint showed greatest numbers of void in impression body (P<.001).However, correlations were not found between sulcus reproduction and void production. 2. Sulcus reproduction ability of additional silicone impression material was diminished in order of Imprint, Examix, Perfect. The significant difference was found between Imprint and other material (P<.001). 3. In void entrapment laboratory test, void productions was diminished in order of Examix, Imprint, Perfect. All voids in casts were less in delayed poured cast than immediately poured cast. 4. Especially, the stone pouring time of Perfect impression material should be delayed.

탄소공구강의 전단설계 변수에 따른 특성 상관관계 연구 (II) (A Study of Characteristic correlation go after the variable of shear process design for Carbon Tool Steel (II))

  • The sheet metal forming proceccing is very important and indispensable in the automotive industry because the accuracy of prsee worked parts is directly related to the automotive quality. But when making mold it is difficult and expensive to modify mold. mold design technology is a critical technology in press plastic working. When design the mold there are lots of variables in press plastic working according to worked material, mold materials, conditions of heat treatment, clearance and so on. Abrasion of mold depends on these kind of conditions and sheared surface which is crucial for quality of product also depends on them. In this study, we conduct research on abrasion loss of mold according to 8, 10 and 12% of clearance for thickness of 1.0mm of worked material out of mold design variables of the products whose worked materials are high carbon steel and carbon tool steel by a practical experiment and perform a comparative evaluation of difference of abrasion loss mold with the alloy tool steel (STD11) and Tungsten Carbide (WC).
