The UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) which is remotely operating with long endurance in high altitude must have a very reliable propulsion system. The precise fault diagnostic system of the turboprop engine as a propulsion system of this type UAV can promote reliability and availability. This work proposes a diagnostic method which can identify the faulted components from engine measuring parameter changes using Fuzzy Logic and quantify its faults from the identified fault pattern using Neural Network Algorithms. It is found by evaluation examples that the proposed diagnostic method can detect well not only single type faults but also multiple type faults.

Various diagnostic techniques for identifying influential observations are mostly based on the deletion of a single observation. While such techniques can satisfactorily identify influential observations in many cases, they will not always be successful because of some mask effect. It is necessary, therefore, to develop techniques that examine the potentially influential effects of a subset of observations. The partial regression plots can be used to examine an influential observation for a single parameter in multiple linear regression. However, it is often desirable to detect influential observations for a subset of regression parameters when interest centers on a selected subset of independent variables. Thus, we propose a diagnostic measure which deals with detecting influential observations on a subset of regression parameters. In this paper, we propose a measure M, which can be effectively used for the detection of influential observations on a subset of regression parameters in multiple linear regression. An illustrated example is given to show how we can use the new measure M to identify influential observations on a subset of regression parameters.

Objectives: Adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is an important mental health problem that needs resolution, especially considering the high rates of ADHD continuation from childhood to adolescence/adulthood and the high prevalence of ADHD in adults. Adults with ADHD have lifelong negative impacts and require close monitoring with long-term follow-up. Hence, the establishment of a Korean practice parameter for adult ADHD is necessary to minimize discontinuation of treatment and enable information sharing among Korean mental health professionals. Methods: The Korean practice parameter was developed using an evidence-based approach consisting of expert consensus survey coupled with literature review. Results: According to the expert consensus survey, the most commonly used diagnostic methods were clinical psychiatric interview (20.66%) and self-report scales (19.25%) followed by attention (14.71%) and psychological tests (14.24%). Key evaluation instruments currently available in Korea are the World Health Organization Adult ADHD Self-Report Rating Scale, Korean Adult ADHD Rating Scale, Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults, Barkley Deficits in Executive Functioning Scale for adults, Comprehensive Attention Test, Conners' Continuous Performance Test, and the subtests of Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Digit Span and Letter-Number Sequencing. Although pharmacotherapy is recommended as the first-line of treatment for adult ADHD, we recommend that it be followed by a multimodal and multidisciplinary approach including psychoeducation, pharmacotherapy, cognitive behavior therapy and coaching. Conclusion: The Korean practice parameter introduces not only general information for the diagnosis and treatment of adult ADHD on a global scale, but also the process of diagnosis and treatment options tailored to the Korean population.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the utility of the pleural fluid cholesterol level in separating the exudates from the transudates, and in differentiating tuberculous exudates from non-tuberculous exudates, 52 patients with pleural effusion were involved in this prospective study. By predefined criteria, 40 of these effusions were classified as exudates (Group I) and 12 as transudates (Group II). Group I was subdivided into tuberculous exudates (Group A) and non-tuberculous exudates (Group B). The followings are parameters used in separating the exudates from the transudates; pleural protein (P-PROT) 3.0 g/dl, pleural protein/serum protein ratio (P/S PORT) 0.5, pleural LDH (P-LDH) 200 IU, pleural LDH/serum LDH ratio (P/S LDH) 0.6, pleural cholesterol (P-CHOL) 50 mg/dl and pleural cholesterol/serum cholesterol ratio (P/S CHOL) 0.4. Mean values of the parameters in each group were compared, and then misclassified rate and the dignostic efficiency for each parameter were calculated. The results were as follows; 1) Mean P-CHOL ($94.98{\pm}73.86\;mg/dl$) in Group I was higher than that ($36.5{\pm}26.5\;mg/dl$) in Group II (p<0.05), but there was no significant difference in mean P-CHOL between Group A and Group B. 2) Mean P/S CHOL ($0.64{\pm}0.39$) in Group I was also higher than that ($0.27{\pm}0.15$) in Group II (p<0.01), but no difference was observed in mean P/S CHOL between Group A and Group B. 3) Misclassified rates for each parameter in separating the exudates from the transudates were as follows; P-PROT 1.9%. P/S PROT 3.8%. P-CHOL 9.6%, P/S CHOL 11.5%, P/S LDH 11.5%, and P-LDH 17.3%. 4) Diagnostic efficiencies for each parameter in separating the exudates from the transudates were as follows; P-PROT 98.1%, P/S PROT 96.2%. P-CHOL 90.4%. P/S CHOL 88.5%, P/S LDH 88.5%, and P-LDH 82.7%. In conclusion, we think that the pleural fluid chloesterol level could be used as a supportive parameter in separating the exudates from the transudates, but could not be used as a parameter in differentiating tuberculous exudates from non-tuberculous exudates.
This study examined those problems noticed under the Asymptotically Generalized Least Squares estimator in evaluating a structural model of physical health. The problems were highly correlated parameter estimates and high standard errors of some parameter estimates. Separate analyses of the endogenous part of the model and of the metric of a latent factor revealed a highly skewed and kurtotic measurement indicator as the focal point of the manifested problems. Since the sample sizes are far below that needed to produce adequate AGLS estimates in the given modeling conditions, the adequacy of the Maximum Likelihood estimator is further examined with the robust statistics and the bootstrap method. These methods demonstrated that the ML methods were unbiased and statistical decisions based upon the ML standard errors remained almost the same. Suggestions are made for future studies adopting structural equation modeling technique in terms of selecting of a reference indicator and adopting those statistics corrected for nonormality.
For possibly nonstationary autoregressive moving average, modeling based on the original observations rather than the differenced observations is considered. Under this scheme, sample autocorrelation functions, parameter estimates, model diagnostic statistics, and prediction are all computed from the original data instead of the differenced data. The methods and results established under stationarity of data are shown to naturally extend to the nonstationarity of one autoregressive unit root. The sample ACF and PACF can be used for ARMA order determination. The BIC order is strongly consistent. The parameter estimates are asymptotically normal. The portmanteau statistic has chi-square distribution. The predictor is asymptotically equivalent to that based on the differenced data.

Though SLA(Stereolithography Apparatus) is being recognized as an innovative technology, it still can not be used to fully practical applications since it lacks of dimensional accuracy compared to conventional processes. In SLA, the accuracy of cured part depends upon the set of process parmeters. In order to improve the accuracy of SLA, this paper quantitatively evaluates how largely each process parameter of SLA contributes to the part accuracy and estimates the optimal set of process parameter which minimizes the dimensional errors of the test part, "letter-H" part. For this purpose, we use ANOVA(analysis of variance) and S/N(signal-to-noise)ratio of Taguchi method.hi method.

This paper deals with friction-induced vibration of disc brake system under constant friction coefficient. A linear, lumped and distributed parameter model to represent the floating caliper disc brake system is proposed. The complex eigenvalues are used to investigate the dynamic stability and in order to verify simulations which are based on the theoretical model, the experimental modal test and the dynamometer test are performed. The comparison of experimental and theoretical results shows a good agreement and the analysis indicates that mode coupling due to friction force is responsible for disc brake squeal. And squeal type instability is investigated by using the parametric analysis. This indicates parameters which have influence on the propensity of brake squeal. This helped to validate the analysis model and establish confidence in the analysis results. Also they may be useful during system development or diagnostic analysis.

The objective of this study is to develop stochastic and deterministic models which could be used to synthesize water application time series. Adaptive models using mulitivariate ARIMA(Transfer Function Model) are developed for daily urban water use forecasting. The model considers several variables on which water demands is dependent. The dynamic response of water demands to several factors(e.g. weekday, average temperature, minimum temperature, maximum temperature, humidity, cloudiness, rainfall) are characterized in the model by transfer functions. Daily water use data of Kumi city in 1992 are employed for model parameter estimation. Meteorological data of Seonsan station are utilized to input variables because Kumi has no records about the meteorological factor data.To determine the main factors influencing water use, autocorrelogram and cross correlogram analysis are performed. Through the identification, parameter estimation, and diagnostic checking of tentative model, final transfer function models by each month are established. The simulation output by transfer function models are compared to a historical data and shows the good agreement.
