  • In order to collect vehicle internal diagnostic data, it is necessary to collect diagnostic data of ECU (Electronic Control Unit) included in various automotive parts. Diagnostic communication can be used to collect diagnostic data of ECU. In this paper, the method of collecting diagnostic data according to ECU function through standard diagnostic communication and the diagnostic communication module were analyzed. Among the standard modules of AUTOSAR, a standard for automotive electronics used by many automobile manufacturers, the diagnostic communication module was studied, and the process of diagnostic data processing through ECU was studied.

  • Abnormal symptoms on operating conditions of power transformer are monitored by a preventive diagnostic system which prevents the sudden power failure in case of quick progress of abnormal situation. The preventive diagnostic system helps plan the proper maintenance method according to the transformer conditions via accumulated data. KEPCO has adopted the preventive diagnostic system at nine of 345kV substations since 1997. Application techniques of the diagnostic sensors were settled, but diagnostic algorithm and practical use of accumulated data are not yet established. To build up the diagnostic algorithm and effective use of the preventive diagnostic system, the reliability of the data which were accumulated in a server computer is very important. This paper describes the data analysis in the server in order to advance the reliability of the accumulated data of the preventive diagnostic system. The principles and data flows of the diagnostic sensors were analyzed, and the data discrepancy between sensors and server were calibrated.

  • Android manufacturers collect diagnostic data to improve the quality of service to users around the world. The content and frequency of diagnostic data collected by these Android manufacturers is unknown. We analyze the diagnostic data collection behavior of Samsung smartphones, which has the largest share of the Android market among smartphone manufacturers, to explain which diagnostic data is communicated to the server via network packets, how the system app that collects the diagnostic data works, and whether the diagnostic data violates user privacy.

  • The preventive diagnostic technique prevents transformers from power failure through giving alarm and observing transformers in service. And it helps to establish the plan for optimum maintenance of the transformer as well as to find location or cause of fault using accumulated data. Data detection and experience of the preventive diagnostic system need to establish the preventive diagnostic algorithm regarding interrelationship between detected data and deterioration of equipment. Therefore in-depth analysis about the preventive diagnosis system is required. KEPCO has adopted the preventive diagnostic system at nine 345kV substations since 1997.   • GIS is used to isolate large power electrical equipment using SF6 gas. While GIS has simple structure, it has few break down, relatively high reliability. But it is hard to check up faults for reason of pressure. Faults of GIS should have a ripple effect on community and be hard to recovery. Consequently, GIS imports a preventive diagnostic system to find internal faults in advance. It is most important that reliability on the GIS preventive diagnostic system, because it estimates abnormality of system by analysis result of collected data. But, exist system which used central data management is low efficiency, and hard to guarantee timeliness and accuracy of data. To guarantee timeliness and accuracy, the GIS preventive diagnostic system needs accordingly to use a real-time middleware. So, in this paper, to improve reliability of the GIS preventive diagnostic system, we use a middleware based on TMO for guaranteeing timeliness of real-time distributed computing. And we propose an improved GIS preventive diagnostic system applying data acquisition, monitoring and control methods based on the TMO model. The presented system uses the Communication Control Unit(CCU) for distributed data handling which is supported by TMO. CCU can improve performance of the GIS preventive diagnostic system by guaranteeing timeliness of data handling process and increasing reliability of data through the TMO middleware. And, it has designed to take full charge of overload on a data acquisition task had been processed in an exist server. So, it could reduce overload of the server and apply distribution environment from now. Therefore, the proposed system can improve performance and reliability of the GIS preventive diagnostic system and contribute to stable operation of GIS.

  • In order to diagnose a vehicle, it is achieved by collecting diagnostic data within the ECU or between ECUs and managing the diagnostic data by utilizing various communication methods through an electronic device composed of an ECU(Electronic Control Unit), which is an automotive electronic device. As communication methods, LIN, CAN, FlexRay are mainly used. Recently, wired/wireless communication is being used based on Ethernet. In order to perform vehicle diagnosis, it is necessary to know the diagnosis code generated by the ECU and to collect diagnosis data using diagnosis communication. In addition, diagnostic data can be managed from the ECU only when the application software required for vehicle diagnosis is configured. If many automobile manufacturers are manufacturing ECUs based on the AUTOSAR standard, which is an automotive electronic standard, the software structure is also configured to be applied according to the standard. In this paper, we understand the vehicle diagnosis communication method of the AUTUSAR standard, study the configuration and processing method of diagnosis data, and study the contents of software components, diagnosis communication, and diagnosis event processing.

  • This paper develops an OBD Diagnostic Program (Program) using Visual Studio (C#), which was used to diagnosis malfunction information from OBD-II system vehicles. We accomplished this using the Program, Diagnostic tests, Board (STN1110), FTDI Basic Cable, Mini USB Cable, OBD Data Cable, and both hybrid and regular vehicles. The Program tests real-time data output, DTC output, sensor value output, engine RPM, waveform data, OBD type check, PID inspection, and whole monitoring. We found vehicles used in this research had 19 PIDs, which was within OBD-II regulations. We also gathered data on control and diagnostic code regulated by OBD-II system, such as, sensor output value, engine RPM, DTC output, each PID analytic value, OBD type, fuel mode, and whole monitoring result value. Using the data collected through the Program appropriately can lead to more effective diagnostic practices and contribute to education.

  • The inference process for medical expert system is mostly formed by diagnostic knowledge on the if-then rule base. Oriental medicine diagnostic knowledge, however, may involve uncertain knowledge caused by ambiguous concept. In this paper, we analyze an oriental medicine diagnostic process by a rule-based inference system, and propose a method for representing and processing uncertain oriental medicine diagnostic knowledge using CLP( R ) which is a kind of constraint satisfaction program.
