We are developing the methods for the objective and systematic diagnosis, but in actuality the relativity between a diagnosis of Korean medical doctor to a symptom of patients and the conformity to the expression of the Korean medical diagnostic mechanism is short of the statistical data. so, the questionnaire of Cold-Heat & Deficiency-Excess and a diagnosis of Korean medical doctor and a result of the Korean medical diagnostic mechanism, through the relationship of those, we have offered the objective data for diagnostic validity. The study group was 750 volunteers who diagnosed by Cold-Heat & Deficiency-Excess, out of 1475 volunteers who participated in Korean-Western medical examination. We compared the results of the questionnaires for Cold-Heat & Deficiency-Excess patternization through the questionnaire with a diagnosis of Korean medical doctor. we also studied the diagnostic validity for the item of the questionnaire by statistics analysis. It is proper that 9 questions of 16 questions for the Cold, 6 questions of 14 questions for the Heat, 13 questions of 14 questions for the Deficiency, 6 questions of 9 questions for the Excess, and there is close correlation between the questionnaire to the diagnosis. The difference between the questionnaire score is meaningful(p=0.000), this conforms to the diagnosis of the Korean medical doctor, so the questionnaire have the validity. The result of the questionnaire of Cold-Heat & Deficiency-Excess conform to a diagnosis of Korean medical doctor, it carries an important meaning by the measure of diagnosis, and it is necessary for further study for the significance of the medical diagnostic mechanism.
Objectives The purpose of this study was to develop diagnostic tools for Sasang Constitutional patterns based on the middle classification of the Sasang Constitutional patterns. Methods Diagnosis and assessment indicators of Soeumin, Soyangin, Taeeumin, and Taeyangin patterns were extracted based on the 『Clinical Practice Guideline for Sasang Constitutional Medicine Symptomatology』 and 『Donguisusebowon』. An online survey was conducted on the 'importance of diagnosis and assessment indicators' by the Sasang Constitutional Medicine expert group. Results Based on the expert consultation results, the importance weight for each diagnosis and assessment indicators symptom was calculated, and the importance was ranked to develop diagnostic tools for Soeumin, Soyangin, Taeeumin, and Taeyangin patterns. Diagnostic tool consisted of 58 questions for Soeumin patterns, 68 questions for Soyangin patterns, 81 questions for Taeeumin patterns, and 42 questions for Taeyangin patterns. The final total score was calculated by reflecting each response score and the weight of each question. Conclusions The developed 'Diagnostic Tools for Sasang Constitutional patterns' can be used to make an effective and objective diagnosis in the clinical site. In the future, if the reliability and validity of these diagnostic tools are tested through clinical study, it will be possible to improve clinical applicability and contribute to standardization of diagnosis.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliabilities of questions and diagnostic value of the Korean Sasang Constitutional Diagnostic Questionnaire(KS-15). The young adults aged 20's participated in this study. The first survey was conducted in march, 2016, and the second one was conducted two weeks later. Three hundred and three questionnaires and the informed consent were obtained from all participants. The test-retest kappa analysis was used to identify the reliabilities of the questions and diagnostic value, and the significance level was .05. The number of subjects was 303 [87(28.7%)males and 216(71.3%)females]. The Cronbach's α were .630 in 6 characteristic questions. The test-retest reliabilities of questions were ranged from .469 to 734. The agreement rate of KS-15 between the first and second constitutional diagnostic value was 87.13%(Kappa=0.794). The higher Sasang constitutional probability score in first survey resulted in the higher agreement rate between first and second diagnostic value. KS-15 seems to be a reliable implement. Further studies for the reliability of the people of different ages and suitable cut off point in Sasang constitutional probability score are needed for the practical use of KS-15.

The purpose of this study is to identify reading competency and its components according to the concept of reading competency in order to strengthen the reading competency of children and adolescents with disabilities, develop diagnostic questions, and provide basic data for the development of a reading competency diagnostic tool for children and adolescents with disabilities, Research methods include literature research, brainstorming, delphi survey, and preliminary research. As a result of the study, the components of the reading competency diagnostic tool are broadly divided into 2 areas (affective domain, environmental domain), 4 categories (reading motivation, reading attitude, human environment, and physical environment), and a total of 13 components in each of the 4 categories (Reading interest, reading value, reading recognition, reading expectations, reading habits, reading efficacy, reading immersion, reading anxiety (avoidance), home/family, school/teacher, peers, reading environment, media environment) and the corresponding questions. was developed. Based on these results, a direction for developing a reading competency diagnostic tool for children and adolescents with disabilities was presented.
In this research, The objective of the present study was to develop a preliminary diagnostic worksheet for use in consultations for learning mathematics. In order to achieve this, the worksheet was constructed with questions designed to assess the students. Through standardization, diagnostic worksheets for primary school students in grades 5 and 6 and secondary school students in grades 7 and 8 were produced. The diagnostic worksheet was divided into three sections, consisting of the psychology of learning mathematics in section 1, the methodology in learning mathematics in section 2, and personal preferences in learning mathematics in section 3. The psychology of learning mathematics was composed of questions on factors such as, "confidence in math learning ability," "math anxiety," and "attitude in learning mathematics." Moreover, factors in methodology in learning mathematics were "self-management in learning mathematics" and "math learning strategies." Those for personal preferences in learning mathematics asked about "motivation" and "preferences" with questions about "math learning habits" and "management methods for learning math." This diagnostic worksheet can be used as basic material in consulting students on learning mathematics.
Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the appropriate management and implementation of the oral malodor prevention for the general people. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 420 subjects in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from March to October, 2013. Except 19 copies, 401 copies were analyzed. The instrument of subjective oral malodor awareness and status was adapted from Yoon and Youn and partly modified. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics(4 questions), oral malodor awareness(3 questions), oral malodor related characteristics(3 questions), self-diagnostic test of oral malodor(5 questions), and subjective oral malodor and health status(3 questions). Self-diagnostic test of oral malodor was score as yes(1 point) and no(0 point). The subjective oral malodor and health status scoring was done by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach alpha was 0.713 in the self-diagnostic test of oral malodor. Results: The self-recognition rate of oral malodor was 0.8%. When the level of oral malodor increased to 1 point, the self-test of oral malodor increased as the rate of 0.033(p<0.05). Conclusions: There existed no close correlation between subjective recognition of oral malodor and oral malodor self-test. Therefore, oral malodor should be measured by an expert counseling to make an accurate diagnosis. It is important to establish the appropriate oral malodor prevention program for the general people.
Objectives This study was performed to make a short-form of Sasang Constitution Questionnaire for Patient(SSCQ-P). Methods In order to select important questions of SSCQ-P, we got advice from 10 professors of Oriental Medicine. As a result, we chose 37 questions. In addition, we selected 69 questions which had been used more than 12 times in SSCQ-P as the variable. We used some statistical methods to reduce questions. Finally, a total of 40 questions were selected. To find diagnostic accuracy rate of this short-form, discriminant analysis was performed. We used 1378 cases which was collect ed from February 2008 to June 2013 by online system(Sasang-medi data which has selected by web site, http://www.sasangmedi.or.kr), and 68 cases which was collected from November 2006 to September 2007 by the research "Construction of a biological information collection system for the Constitutional scientific diagnosis"(Korea Constitutional Multicenter Bank data, KCMB data) Results We made a short-form of SSCQ-P consisting of 40 questions. Diagnostic accuracy rate of short-form is 66.18% using Sasang-medi data, and 42.65% using KCMB data. Conclusions More cases are needed to improve the diagnostic accuracy rate of this short-form.

Objectives: Patients with dementia are increasing in Korea. So the importance of accurate diagnosis and treatment of dementia is growing. In this paper, we evaluated the result of employing the Korean medical diagnostic pattern as a tool in clinics. Methods: Patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease were evaluated using the Korean medical diagnostic pattern tool. Results: The number of patients with liver-kidney yin deficiency pattern/syndrome was 35. Analyzing the ratio difference between the 'liver-kidney yin deficiency' group and the 'not liver-kidney yin deficiency' group revealed that the ratio of the responses to the fourth question was less than zero. The ratio of the responses to the fifth, seventh, and eight questions were all less than 10%. The ratio of the responses to the first and second questions were greater than 30%. Conclusions: Of the six diagnostic patterns, liver-kidney yin deficiency was the greatest in the study subjects. The fourth question in the liver-kidney yin deficiency tool tests for the lack of appropriateness whereas the fifth, seventh, and eight questions test for lack of discrimination. Applying more weight to the first and second questions was an excellent choice to increase the discrimination.

This study conducted a questionnaire for students of Pusan National University Graduate School of Korean Medicine who practiced using the Oriental Medicine Diagnosis System (ODS). From the questionnaire, this study investigated current state of application and perception of AI in Korean Medicine and explored the direction of ODS improvement and utilization. The survey questions consisted of six questions examining the satisfaction of the diagnostic expert system, five questions evaluating the availability of the diagnostic expert system, and six questions to predict the impact of AI on the Korean medicine community. The survey analysis showed high satisfaction with practice using ODS. On the other hand, the possibility of using ODS, especially in clinical use, was evaluated as relatively low compared to the satisfaction of the practice. Therefore, the overall impact of AI on the Korean medical community is not expected to be large. Although there are difficulties in standardization of clinical data due to the academic characteristics of Korean medicine, it is necessary to continue attempts to apply AI. By actively introducing educational tools using the latest AI techniques to the diagnosis experience and doctor-patient role in a practice, students will be able to increase their satisfaction with their practice and respond appropriately to the state-of-the-art medical environment.
Background: The objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) is used in the colleges of Korean Medicine, but few studies have validated the OSCE evaluation criteria or post-education questionnaires. Diagnostic ultrasound is used in Korean medicine treatment including acupuncture, acupotomy, and pharmacopuncture to increase the safety and efficacy of treatment. We aimed to develop and validate a OSCE checklist and questionnaire for diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound training. Methods: A OSCE checklist and rubric for diagnostic ultrasound training, and questionnaire was developed using literature research. Eight expert panelists verified each draft item in a single-round survey. Items with a content validity ratio (CVR) < 0.75 were excluded or modified to reflect the experts' opinions. Results: The OSCE checklist and rubric for diagnostic ultrasound training focusing on volar wrist and carpal tunnel syndrome included: 15 items revised according to CVR and expert opinions, the pre-examination procedure, structures to be identified by ultrasound, scans with 2 diagnostic criteria for carpal tunnel syndrome, an explanation of the exam results, and the post exam procedure. The questionnaire consisted of 15 items, including the overall evaluation of training, the effect of the OSCE, and the perception of the ultrasound. All 6 self-evaluation items were not revised, as they had a CVR of ≥ 0.75. Conclusion: An ultrasound OSCE for scanning the volar wrist and diagnosing carpal tunnel syndrome was developed using 15 validated tasks, 15 survey questions about ultrasound training, and 6 questions for self-evaluation. These results may be used in the future for education in diagnostic ultrasound.
