Development of a Knowledge Representation Scheme and Diagnosis Mechanism for Heterogeneous Distributed Fault Diagnosis (이종분산 고장 진단을 위한 지식표현 방법 및 진단 방법의 개발)

  • An integrated fault diagnosis system for heterogeneous manufacturing environments is developed. This system has a contrast with existing diagnosis systems in the respect that they are mostly for diagnosing faults on individual machines. In addition to the usual (e.g., audio, electrical) diagnostic signals, the characteristics of products from the machines are considered as the unifying diagnostic parameters among heterogeneous machines in the diagnosis. The system is composed of a knowledge representation scheme and a diagnostic query processing mechanism. Its knowledge representation scheme allows the diagnostic knowledges from heterogeneous unit diagnostic systems to be uniformly expressed in terms of the causal relations among relevant data items. It is flexible in the sense that causes for one relation can be effects for another may be reflected on our knowledge representation scheme. The diagnosis mechanism is based on a probabilistic inferencing method. This probablistic diagnosis mechanism provides more general diagnosis than existing ones in that it accommodates multiple causes and takes complication among causes into account. These scheme and mechanism are applied to a typical example to demonstrate how our system works.

  • Modern Objectification of Pulse Diagnosis, One of the Four Diagnosis Method of Oriental Medicine, is necessarily project to improving Oriental medical clinic status and quality by standardization of diagnosis database. At that, accurate measurement equipment or devices(sensor, system and instruments, etc,) to exactly detect MacSang(脈診 : the parameter and subject of pulse diagnosis) have not developed yet. Existing Pulse diagnosis devices are not satisfy clinical needs and medical equipments quality. We study for pulse diagnosis system, that CD is satisfying oriental medical clinic needs, is ensuring accuracy and reappearance to support in clinical diagnosis and treatment, is guaranteeing the quality of medical equipments. theoretical base and convenience.

  • System-level diagnosis plays an important technique for fault detection in multi-processor systems. Efficient diagnosis is very important for real time systems as well as multiprocessor systems. Feng(1) proposed two adaptive diagnosis algorithms HADA and IHADA for hypercube system. The diagnosis cost, measured by diagnosis time and the number of test links, depends on the number and location of the faults. In this paper, we propose an adaptive diagnosis algorithm using the syndrome analysis. This removes unnecessary overhead generated in HADA and IHADA algorithm sand give a better performance compared to Feng's Method.

  • Object : In this thesis we researched the transformation of five symptoms of final life stage from ${\ll}$Sumun(素問)${\gg}$, ${\ll}$Yingshu(靈樞)${\gg}$ and ${\ll}$Nanjing(難經)${\gg}$ and pulse diagnosis method. Method : We studied medical books from Mawangdui Han dynasty tomb Results and Conclusion : 1. The symptoms of final life stage according to Yinyanmaisihou(陰陽脈死候) is suggested by observation of symptoms introducting Yinyan five-elements theory. 2. The symptoms of final life stage according to Yinyanmaisihou(陰陽脈死候) and "Qijue(氣絶)" from ${\ll}$Lingshu(靈樞) Jingmai(經脈)${\gg}$ made use of twelve merdian bian(遍) diagnosis method and ${\ll}$Lingshu(靈樞) Zongshi(終始)${\gg}$, ${\ll}$Sumun(素問) Zhenyaojingzhonglun(診要經終論)${\gg}$ made use of twelve merdian biaoben(標本) diagnosis method. Afterward oriental medical biology which suggests agreement between outside and inside symptoms needs to be examined by use of science and medical theory to apply medical treatment .

  • Short-circuit rotor windings on a generator causes unstable oscillation of unbalance of flux, asymmetrical heat. In order to prevent serious accidents of short-circuit rotor windings, it is important to study the shorted-turn diagnosis method for rotor windings of the generator. To improve the defects of the diagnosis with sensors, the new sensorless method for rotor shorted-turn diagnosis is proposed, which is to measure the electrical values of the voltage and current at the generator and then to detect if the shorted-turned phenomena would occurred. For the feasibility of the suggested method the theoretical results are shown in the aspects of the air-gap flux density, the flux leakage, the generated output voltage and the shorted field current through the digital simulation. Also the possibility of decision for the suggested sensorless method could be shown in this paper.

  • There have been many successful researches on a bearing fault diagnosis based on Deep Learning, but there is still a critical issue of the data distribution difference between training data and test data from their different working conditions causing performance degradation in applying those methods to the machines in the field. As a solution, a data adaptation method has been proposed and showed a good result, but each and every approach is strictly limited to a specific applying scenario or presupposition, which makes it still difficult to be used as a real-world application. Therefore, in this study, we have proposed a method that, using a data transformation with MFCCs and a simple CNN architecture, can perform a robust diagnosis on a target domain data without an additional learning or tuning on the model generated from a source domain data and conducted an experiment and analysis on the proposed method with the CWRU bearing dataset, which is one of the representative datasests for bearing fault diagnosis. The experimental results showed that our method achieved an equal performance to those of transfer learning based methods and a better performance by at least 15% compared to that of an input transformation based baseline method.

  • In Oriental medicine, the status of a tongue is the important indicator to diagnose the condition of internal organs in a body. A tongue diagnosis is not only convenient but also non-invasive, and therefore widely used in Oriental medicine. But tongue diagnosis has some problems that should be objective and standardized, it also exhaust the diagnosis tool that can help for oriental medicine doctor's decision-making. In this paper, to solve the this problem we propose a method that calculates the tongue geometry information for effective tongue diagnosis analysis. Our method is to extract the tongue region for using improved snake algorithm, and calculates the geometry information by using convex hull and In-painting. In experiment, our method has stable performance as 7.2% by tooth plate and 8.5% by crack in region difference ratio.

  • This paper proposes a fault diagnosis method for an open-fault in inverter driving five-phase induction motor. The five-phase induction motor has a high output torque and small torque ripple in comparison to three-phase. The best advantage of the five-phase induction motor is fault diagnosis and tolerant control using redundancy of phases. This paper uses an inverter as a power converter for driving a five-phase induction motor. If a switch of inverter occurs to the open-fault, this problem is the influence on the output current and output torque. To solve this problem, there is need of an accurate diagnosis and fault switch distinction. Therefore, this paper propose a fault detection method of the open-fault switches for the fault diagnosis. First, analyzing the pattern for the open-circuit fault of one phase. next, analyzing the pattern for the open-circuit fault of each inverter switches. Through the pattern analysis, It defines the scope of each of the failure switch. Thereafter, By using an algorithm that proposes to perform a fault diagnosis method. The proposed algorithm is verified from the experiment with the 1.5 kW five-phase induction motor.

  • Sound-based machine fault diagnosis is the automatic detection of abnormal sound in the acoustic emission signals of the machines. Conventional methods of using mathematical models were difficult to diagnose machine failure due to the complexity of the industry machinery system and the existence of nonlinear factors such as noises. Therefore, we want to solve the problem of machine fault diagnosis as a deep learning-based image classification problem. In the paper, we propose a CNN-based automatic machine fault diagnosis method using Spectrogram images. The proposed method uses STFT to effectively extract feature vectors from frequencies generated by machine defects, and the feature vectors detected by STFT were converted into spectrogram images and classified by CNN by machine status. The results show that the proposed method can be effectively used not only to detect defects but also to various automatic diagnosis system based on sound.
