다중회귀분석을 이용한 임하호 유입하천의 수온예측 (Water-Temperature Prediction of Streams Entering into Imha Reservoir using Multi-Regnssion Method)

  • The regression models for the water temperatures of Ban Byeon Stream and Yong Jeon stream were developed using multi-regression method. It was also investigated that the applicability of the stream temperature prediction to two-dimensional numerical simulation to predict the vertical water temperature in Imha Reservoir. Air temperature and dew point as independent variables were selected to be applicable to cases with the different variation of flow rates. The data division of water temperature using a cutoff flow rate of $20m^3/s$ was found to reduce the prediction error of the stream temperature. The mean absolute percent error of the numerical simulation results of the vertical water temperature in Imha Reservoir using the regression models was 11%, which was only 4.3% lager than the simulation result using the measured stream temperature. Therefore, the regression models of the stream temperatures using multi-regression method applied in this study could be applied to predict the vertical water temperature in Imha Reservoir with a good accuracy.

  • The objective of this study is to the test applicability of SLURP on Soyanggang-dam watershed. The area of this watershed is $2,694km^2$ and mean elevation and slope is 650 m and $23^{\circ}$ respectively. Topographical parameters were derived from DEM using TOPAZ and SLURPAZ. NDVI was calculated from multi-temporal NOAA/AVHRR images. The daily meteorological data and hydrograph during $1999\~2001$ were selected for model calibration and performance tests. Weather elements (dew-point temperature, solar radiation, maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity) were required from the S meteorological stations near the study area. The model parameters of each land cover class were optimized by sensitivity analysis and SCE-UA method. Runoff rate shows $49.33\%\~64.06\%$. Simulated results during 4 years were estimated by Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency and WMO volume error. Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency shows $0.61\~0.75$ and WMO volume error shows $6.1\%-18.8\%$.

  • 본 논문은 CANDU 형 원자력 발전소의 Dual Tower 종수증기 회수 계통을 경제적, 효율적으로 운천하기 위하여 PLC를 사용한 제어기를 개발한다. 기계식 타이머와 릴레이를 사용한 기존의 제어기의 문제점을 분석하고 해결힘으로써 향상된 운전 성능을 제공한다. 개발된 제어가는 PLC의 기능을 이용하여 시간제어와 노점제어를 결합한 형태의 제어 알고리즘 채용하고 각종 감시 및 보호기능을 추가함으로써 더욱 정밀하고 안전한 운전기능을 제공한다. 제안된 제어기를 사용함으로쩌 운전비용 및 성능 측면에서의 최적화를 얻을 수 있다.

에폭시계 코팅재의 내산열충격 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the characteristics of acid resistance and thermal shock for epoxy coatings)

  • This paper was studied on the characteristics of acid resistance and thermal shock for epoxy coatings in the strong acidic environment. The exhaust gas system, such as a air preheater, desulfurization equipment, for industrial boiler is damaged by dew point corrosion. To protect the acid corrosion, the coating using nonmetal was applied. The electrochemical polarization test, acid resistance and thermal shock test for epoxy coatings were carried out. And the acid resistance and thermal shock characteristics, aspect, and electrochemical anti-corrosion characteristics for epoxy coatings in the strong acidic environment were considered. The main results are as followings: As the epoxy glass flake coating by acidic thermal shock was damaged to the crack, blistering and elution etc., the current density of epoxy glass flake coating is high. But the damage of epoxy metal complex coating by acidic thermal shock was not occurred. Therefore the characteristics of acid resistance and thermal shock for epoxy metal complex coating is better than those for epoxy glass flake coating.

호남지방 안개 특성 및 KLAPS를 통한 이류.복사안개 사례 연구 (The Characteristics of the Fog and Analysis of the Advection.Radiation Fog by KLAPS in Honam Region)

  • Recently the traffics and transportation hazzards by fog are tremendously Increased. There occurred the greater traffic disaster by Dense Fog of Oct.2006. In this study frequent occurrences of advection fogs centerd over Honam Prov are investigated. Increment of transportation during the Fog period for 1996~2005(decade)are statistically analyzed with Honam Prov.'s fogs. For Honam west coast(Gunsan, Mokpo), inland of Honam(Junju, Gwangju, Suncheon), Honam south coast(Wando, Yepsu), Wind, Dew point, Diff. of air and sea temp. relative humidity are classified between 12 hours before and on time of fog with three Dimensional Analysis System(KLAPS). High frequencies of advection-radiation Fog occurrence in western Coasts except for Suncheon. The application of fog characteristics analyzed by KLAPS for denser fog over the western coast in Fall to Fog prediction and special advisory issues. The advection-radiation fog can occure favorably when the moisture index is less than $2^{\circ}C$, relative humidity is greater than 90%, but the moisture depth is under 1.5 km. In addition when the height of 925 hPa is rising, then fog occurs, but for sinking is disappearing.

Influence of Selective Oxidation Phenomena in CGLs on Galvanized Coating Defects Formation

  • The gas atmosphere in continuous annealing and galvanizing lines alters both composition and microstructure of the surface and sub-surface of sheet steel. The formation and morphology of the oxides of alloying elements in High Strength Interstitial Free (HS-IF), Dual Phase (DP) and Transformation-Induced Plasticity (TRIP) steels are strongly influenced by the furnace dew point, and the presence of specific oxide may result in surface defects and bare areas on galvanized sheet products. The present contribution reviews the progress made recently in understanding the selective formation of surface and subsurface oxides during annealing in hot dip galvanizing and conventional continuous annealing lines. It is believed that the surface and sub-surface composition and microstructure have a pronounced influence on galvanized sheet product surface quality. In the present study, it is shown that the understanding of the relevant phenomena requires a combination of precise laboratory-scale simulations of the relevant technological processes and the use of advanced surface analytical tools.

국지풍이 내륙의 안개발생에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Local Wind on Occurrence of Fog at Inland Areas)

  • We have examined the influence of local wind on occurrence of fog at two inland areas, Chuncheon and Andong, in Korea. The surrounding topography of two inland areas shows significant difference: Chuncheon is located in the basin surrounded by ridges with north-south axis while Andong is located in the valley between the ridges with east-west axis. Occurrence of fog shows maximum in October at both sites but high occurrence of fog at Chuncheon is also noted in the winter. Occurrence of fog at Andong in October is much larger than that at Chuncheon. High occurrence of fog in October is due to favorable synoptic condition for fog formation such as weak wind, clear day and small depression of the dew-point. Fog occurrence at Chuncheon is closely related to very weak wind condition where wind speed is less than $0.5m\;s^{-1}$. The weak wind at Chuncheon in winter is due that pressure driven channeling wind (southerly) cancels out partly downslope northerly flow during nighttime. On the other hand, fog at Andong occurs well when wind is southeasterly which is thermally forced flow during nighttime. Southeasterly provides cold, moist air from the narrow valley to Andong during nighttime, leading to favorable condition for formation of fog.

서울에서의 미세먼지 저감을 위한 인공강수 가능성 진단 (An Assessment of the Effectiveness of Cloud Seeding as a Measure of Air Quality Improvement in the Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • Cloud seeding experiment has been proposed as a way to alleviate severe air pollution problem because, if successful, artificially produced precipitation through cloud seeding could scavenge out some portion of air pollutants. As a first step to verify the practicality of such experiment, seedability of the clouds observed in Seoul is assessed by examining statistical characteristics of some relevant meteorological variables. Analyses of 9 years of Korea Meteorological Agency Seoul station data indicate that as PM10 mass concentration increases, cloud amount, liquid water path, and ice water path decrease, but the difference between temperature and dew point temperature tends to increase. Such finding suggests that cloud seeding becomes less feasible as air pollution becomes more severe in the Seoul metropolitan area, at least in a statistical sense. For some individual severe air pollution events, however, seedable clouds may exist and indeed cloud seeding experiments can be successful. Therefore, detailed investigation on cloud seedability for individual severe air pollution events are highly required to make a concrete assessment of cloud seeding as a way to alleviate severe air pollution problem.

  • There are three types of dehumidification systems : refrigeration dehumidification method, desiccant dehumidification method and hybrid dehumidification method. The first method involves removing moisture by condensation below the dew point, the second method involves absorption by a desiccant material and the last is an integration method. However, the refrigeration dehumidification system consumes too much power and controlling the humidity ratio is difficult. The desiccant dehumidification system uses less power but it has problems of environmental pollution. The hybrid dehumidification system has the disadvantage of a high initial cost. On the other hand, the energy consumption of the membrane based dehumidification system is lower than for the refrigeration dehumidification system. Also, it is an environmentally friendly technology. In this study, the performance parameters are evaluated for the dehumidification system using a hollow fiber membrane. Available area, duct side dry-bulb temperature, sweep gas flux (flow rate) and LMPD (Log Mean Pressure Difference) were used as the performance parameters.

  • In recent years, South Korea has often witnessed damages by gusts caused by thunderstorms in summer. The Korea Meteorological Administration defines that a gust happens when the maximum instantaneous wind velocity is 10m/s or more and draws up hourly observation reports. When a cumulonimbus develops due to an ascending current and reaches the height of 12~16 km, the temperature of the cloud top drops and a lightening happens, which causes a gust accompanied by a thunderstorm and further regional meteorological damage. It's difficult to predict a regional gust with the mesoscale prediction model at the administration. Thus this study set out to analyze the damage cases by a gust accompanied by a thunderstorm and to make a contribution to the prediction and understanding of a gust by a thunderstorm. A gust by a thunderstorm happens where potential equivalent temperature converges or is higher than the surrounding areas. The convergence area of potential equivalent temperature matches the track of thunderstorm cells. The Kimje gust took place where high potential equivalent temperature converged, and the Jangsu gust did as the area of high potential equivalent temperature approached. There should be a good amount of vapor supply with the moisture flux converging at the bottom layer in order to bring instability. In addition, it should collide into a dry and cold atmosphere at 700 hPa. The moving track at the center of the low dew point spread corresponds to that of a gust.
