  • Noise control in underwater environments is an entirely different beast from its airborne counterpart, partly because of the orders-of-magnitude difference in density and compressibility between water and air. One of the most popular systems ever used for (passive) noise reduction under water is an anechoic coating known as "alberich," which was developed by the German during the Second World War and are still used today in naval applications. This talk looks back on some recent developments in underwater noise control, ranging from acoustic metamaterials to active noise control techniques, specifically geared to achieving underwater invisibility.

  • Prior to discuss on recycling status and future prospects for the non-ferrous metals in the Korea, Japan and U.S.A. respectively, worldwide resources of non-ferrous metals and characteristics with recycling of non-ferrous metals are reviewed. In case of recovery non-ferrous metals, recycling of automobile shredder dust and E.A.F. dust are illustrated. Finally, the problems and technological developments associated with recycling of non-ferrous metals are summarized.

  • The genus of Pseudodiaptomus Herrick, 1884 presently comprises 74 species worldwide extending freshwater to hypersaline water(Walter, 2002). Of these, the post-embryonic developments of their naupliar and copepodid stages have been reported in only eight species: P euryhalinus, P. cornatus, P. richardi inequalis, P. marinus, P. binghami, P. poplesia, P. aurivilli and P. hessei. • This paper illustrates applications of the Component Object Model (COM) for power system software developments. As an integral part of Microsoft's component services, COM has gained increased popularity for developing enterprise applications. This paper illustrates the concepts of COM and the latest developments as well as the available tools for developing COM components. Possible COM applications for developing power system software, such as sparse matrix manipulation, fault location, genetic algorithm applications, and so on. are presented. Advantages and promises brought about by COM are manifested through these examples.

  • Geologic Structures are reflected on the landform development. So lots of studies are emphasized on the individual processes and mechanism of the relationship between geologic structures and landforms. In this study, many cases are represented, such as : weathering, stream directions and structures expecially joints, gnamas, meander bending etc. New D-D Diagrams and photos are available to explain the relations of two factors. Landform developments are depend on geologic structures.

  • Now we are faced on the national policy to aim at the nationwide logistics center in North-East Asia. To come true, Korean ports developments policies are better off going towards integrated governmental supportive system build-up, activated infra-structures, back-yard developments, legal and institutional system, international co-ordination networks system, customer-oriented port management system like one-stop services, and multi-variate financing resources. Above all, Related governmental institutions strongly have self-confidences and devotional efforts to make them all implemented not losing own way.

  • In this paper, we review recent developments in network analysis using the graph theory, and introduce ongoing research area with relevant theoretical results. In specific, we introduce basic notations in graph, and conditional and marginal approach in constructing the adjacency matrix. Also, we introduce the Marcenko-Pastur law, the Tracy-Widom law, the white Wishart distribution, and the spiked distribution. Finally, we mention the relationship between degrees and eigenvalues for the detection of hubs in a network.

  • Surgery for temporal lobe epilepsy refractory to medical treatment is a promising treatment option. After a short overview on historical developments in this field, we describe the present practice of presurgical evaluation and resection strategies as practiced at our institution and review the corresponding publications from other centers. We try to delineate major future developments for surgical therapy of temporal lobe epilepsy, as they can derived from present trends.
