미국 학교도서관의 독서 흥미유발 프로그램에 관한 연구 (A Study of Reading Motivation and Incentive Programs of the School Library in the USA)

  • 2002년 교육인적자원부가 발표한 "학교도서관 활성화 종합방안"에 힘입어 학교도서관 활성화에 박차를 가하고 있는 때이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다양한 독서 흥미유발 프로그램을 통해 학교도서관 활성화를 꾀하고 있는 미국 학교도서관의 프로그램들을 국가적 차원의 독서 진흥책, 상업적 지원의 독서 흥미유발 프로그램, 컴퓨터 테스트를 이용한 독서 흥미유발 프로그램, 주 차원 그리고 각 학교의 독서 흥미유발 프로그램으로 나누어 소개하고 이를 우리나라에 적용할 수 있는 방안을 모색해보고자 하였다.

  • 현재까지 경지정리 조사설계를 위한 토양조사결과 처리, 토양도 제작 분석 및 그에 따른 적절한 건설기계 선정은 모두 수작업에 의해 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구에서는 지리정보시스템을 이용하여 이러한 작업을 전산화하였다. 다양한 토양 분포 양상을 띠는 산간지역경지정리 조사설계 지구의 현장조사 및 실내분석 시험치에 대한 자료를 수집하여 기본도와 주제도를 작성하고, 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 이를 분석하여 대상지역의 경지정리시 사용되는 적절한 건설기계 선정방안을 제시하고 기존의 수작업 내용과 비교 검증하였다.

  • We are at the onset of a major revolution in education, a revolution unparalleled since the invention of the printing press. The computer will be the instrument of this revolution. Computers and computer application are everywhere these days. Everyone can't avoid the influence of the computer in today's world. The computer is no longer a magical, unfamiliar tool that is used only by researchers or scholars or scientists. The computer helps us do our jobs and even routine tasks more effectively and efficiently. More importantly, it gives us power never before available to solve complex problems. Mathematics instruction in secondary schools is frequently perceived to be more a amendable to the use of computers than are other areas of the school curriculum. This is based on the perception of mathematics as a subject with clearly defined objectives and outcomes that can be reliably measured by devices readily at hand or easily constructed by teachers or researchers. Because of this reason, the first large-scale computerized curriculum projects were in mathematics, and the first educational computer games were mathematics games. And now, the entire mathematics curriculum appears to be the first of the traditional school curriculum areas to be undergoing substantial trasformation because of computers. Recently, many research-Institutes of our country are going to study on computers in orders to use it in mathematics education, but the study is still start ing-step. In order to keep abreast of this trend necessity, and to enhance mathematics teaching/learning which is instructed lecture-based teaching/learning at the present time, this study aims to develop/present practical method of computer-using. This is devided into three methods. 1. Programming teaching/learning method This part is presented the following five types which can teach/learn the mathematical concepts and principle through concise program. (Type 1) Complete a program. (Type 2) Know the given program's content and predict the output. (Type 3) Write a program of the given flow-chart and solve the problem. (Type 4) Make an inference from an error message, find errors and correct them. (Type 5) Investigate complex mathematical fact through program and annotate a program. 2. Problem-solving teaching/learning method solving This part is illustrated how a computer can be used as a tool to help students solve realistic mathematical problems while simultaneously reinforcing their understanding of problem-solving processes. Here, four different problems are presented. For each problem, a four-stage problem-solving model of polya is given: Problem statement, Problem analysis, Computer program, and Looking back/Looking ahead. 3. CAI program teaching/learning method This part is developed/presented courseware of sine theorem section (Mathematics I for high school) in order to avail individualized learning or interactive learning with teacher.   • Patient Navigation Program (PNP) is considered as an important implementation of health care systems that can assist in patient's treatment. Due to the feasibility of PNP implementation, a systematic reuse is needed for a wide adoption of PNP computerized system. SPL is one of the promising systematic reuse approaches for creating a reusable architecture to enabled reuse in several similar applications of PNP systems which has its own variations with other applications. However, stakeholder decision making which result from the imprecise, uncertain, and subjective nature of architecture selection based on quality attributes (QA) further hinders the development of the product line architecture. Therefore, this study aims to propose a quality-driven approach using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) techniques for Software Product Line Architecture (SPLA) to have an objective selection based on the QA of stakeholders in the domain of PNP. There are two steps proposed to this approach. First, a clear representation of quality is proposed by extending feature model (FM) with QA feature to determine the QA in the early phase of architecture selection. Second, MCDA techniques were applied for architecture selection based on objective preference for certain QA in the domain of PNP. The result of the proposed approach is the implementation of the PNP system with SPLA that had been selected using MCDA techniques. Evaluation for the approach is done by checking the approach's applicability in a case study and stakeholder validation. Evaluation on ease of use and usefulness of the approach with selected stakeholders have shown positive responses. The evaluation results proved that the proposed approach assisted in the implementation of PNP systems.

Development of safety-Based Guidelines for Cost-Effective Utility Pole Treatment along Highway Rights-of-Way

  • This study was conducted to develop a methodology to predict utility pole accident rates and to evaluate cost-effectiveness for safety improvement for utility pole accidents. The utility pole accident rate prediction model was based on the encroachment rate approach introduced in the Transportation Research Board Special Report 214. The utility pole accident rate on a section of highway depends on the roadside encroachment rate and the lateral extent of encroachment. The encroachment rate is influenced by the horizontal and vertical alignment of the highway as well as traffic volume and mean speed. The lateral extent of encroachment is affected by the horizontal and vertical alignment, the mean speed and the roadside slope. An analytical method to generate the probability distribution function for the lateral extent of encroachment was developed for six kinds of encroachment types by the horizontal alignment and encroachment direction. The encroachment rate was calibrated with the information on highway and roadside conditions and the utility pole accident records collected on the sections of 55mph speed limit of the State Trunk Highway 12 in Wisconsin. The encroachment rate on a tangent segment was calibrated as a function of traffic volume with the actual average utility pole accident rates by traffic volume strategies. The adjustment factors for horizontal and vertical alignment were then derived by comparing the actual average utility pole accident rates to the estimations from the model calibrated for tangent and level sections. A computerized benefit-cost analysis procedure was then developed as a means of evaluating alternative countermeasures. The program calculates the benefit-cost ratio and the percent of reduction of utility pole accidents resulting from the implementation of a safety improvement. This program can be used to develop safety improvement: alternatives for utility pole accidents when a predetermined performance level is specified.

Ubiquitous-Based Mobile Control and Monitoring of CNC Machines for Development of u-Machine

  • This study was an attempt to control and monitor Computerized Numerical Controller (CNC) machines anywhere and anytime for the development of a ubiquitous machine (u-machine). With a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) phone, the machine status and machining data of CNC machines can be monitored in wired and wireless environments, including the environments of IMT2000 and Wireless LAN. Moreover, CNC machines can be controlled anywhere and anytime. The concept of the anywhere-anytime controlling and monitoring of a manufacturing system was implemented in this study for the purpose of u-manufacturing and u-machines. In this concept, the communication between the CNC controller and the PDA phone was successfully performed anywhere and anytime for the real-time monitoring and control of CNC machines. In addition, the interface between the CNC controller and the developed application module was implemented by Object linking and embedding for Process Control (OPC) and shared CNC memory. For communication, the design of a server contents module within the target CNC was based on a TCP/IP. Furthermore, the client contents module within the PDA phone was designed with the aid of embedded c++ programming for mobile communication. For the interface, the monitoring data, such as the machine status, the machine running state, the name of the Numerical Control (NC) program, the alarm and the position of the stage axes, were acquired in real time from real machines with the aid of the OPC method and by sharing the CNC memory. The control data, such as the start, hold, emergency stop, reserved start and reserved stop, were also applied to the CNC domain of the real machine. CNC machines can therefore be controlled and monitored in real time, anywhere and anytime. Moreover, prompt notification from CNC machines to mobile phones, including cellular phones and PDA phones, can be automatically realized in emergencies.

ICT 기반 교량 생애주기 관리시스템 개발 (Development of Bridge Life-Cycle Management System based on Information and Communication Technology)

  • 교량은 지속적인 규모의 증가와 노후화의 확대로 인해 전산화된 관리 체계가 요구되었다. 국내외 교량관리시스템(Bridge Management System; BMS) 개발 동향 및 기능의 비교, 고찰을 통해 생애주기 관리가 가능한 ICT (Information and Communication Technology) 기반 교량 관리 체계를 제안하였다. BMS는 인터넷과 모바일이 결합된 운영 체계에 GIS 기능과 객체 기반 정보 관리 체계를 바탕으로 개발되었다. BMS는 교량의 생애주기 동안 발생되는 모든 정보의 객체 기반 정보화를 수행하여, 생애주기 성능 변화와 소요 예산의 추정을 바탕으로 중장기 관리 전략과 단기 관리 계획의 수립을 지원한다. 실제 공용중인 교량 약 6천 개소에 대한 생애주기 관리 전략 수립을 통해 의사 결정 지원을 위한 유용한 지식 정보를 도출하였다. 전국의 모든 도로교량에 적용 가능하도록 개발된 BMS는 정확한 이력 관리를 통한 성능 유지, 합리적인 예산 관리를 통한 비용 절감, 현장 정보 수집의 편의성 및 신뢰성 증진을 위해 실제적, 실용적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

가임여성의 에너지 섭취량측정을 위한 식품섭취빈도지 개발 및 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development and Validation of Food Frequency Questionnaire for Estimating Energy Intake of Women in Child-Bearing Age)

  • This study was conducted to develop a computerized food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) for assessing nutritional status of women of child-bearing age. Computerized food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) that reflect intakes of energy, carbohydrate, fat and protein was developed for women of child-bearing age. This FFQ is composed of 61 foods or food groups containing 192 dish items. To estimate of energy intake easily, we have developed a computer program that can be viewed on a computer screen in an actual size of dish items. Nutrient intakes of the last three months by the FFQ was validated with comparing the result of a 3-day diet record through 92 college students aged from 20 to 30. The level of energy, carbohydrate and sodium of estimating by the FFQ method was significantly higher than the level of a 3-day diet records method (p < 0.01). Pearson's correlation coefficients between the two methods were 0.50 for carbohydrate (p < 0.01), 0.55 for energy (p < 0.01) and 0.56 for protein (p < 0.01). Spearman's correlation coefficients were 0.53 for carbohydrate (p < 0.01), 0.55 for energy (p < 0.01) and 0.52 for protein (p < 0.01). The percent of subject in the lowest quartile in a 3-day diet record belonged to the first and second lowest quartile in food frequency questionnaire is 78.2% in energy, 91.3% in carbohydrate, 78.2% in protein, 69.5% in fat. Also, the percent of subject in the highest quartile in a 3-day diet record belong to the first and second highest quartile in food frequency questionnaire is 78.3% in energy, 73.9% in carbohydrate, 82.6% in protein, and 73.9% in fat. On the whole, the result of this study seemed to be in good agreement with other studies. Therefore, the FFQ developed by this study is considered to be a reliable tool to assess nutrients and food intakes for women of child-bearing age.

Introduction of Medical Simulation and the Experience of Computerized Simulation Program Used by $MicroSim^{(R)}$

  • 배경 : 의학시뮬레이션 교육방법이 새로이 도입되면서 다양한 방법이 개발되었다. 특히 컴퓨터와 인터넷을 이용한 시뮬레이션 교육이 학생들에게 사전에 임상수기 교육 및 임상경험을 가능하게 하여 많은 도움을 주고 있다. 본 연구는 $Microsim^{(R)}$ 프로그램을 이용한 학생들의 첫 경험을 보고하고 컴퓨터와 인터넷을 이용한 시뮬레이션 교육에 대하여 소개하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법 : 의학과 3학년 학생을 대상으로 임상의학입문 과정의 일환으로 $Microsim^{(R)}$ 프로그램을 이용하여 2주간의 실습후 획득한 점수를 산정하여 통과여부를 알아보고자 하였다. 모듈 1은 기도 및 호흡, 모듈 2는 심정지, 모듈 3은 심장 부정맥, 모듈 4는 흉통으로 정하였으며, 4개의 모듈에서 미리 지정된 각각의 증례하나를 선택하여 반복하여 실습하고 최종적으로 각각 통과점수가 70% 이상이 되어야 인정되도록 하였다. 결과 : 전체 75명의 학생이 참가하여 이중 56명(74.7%)이 4개의 모듈을 모두 통과하였다. 각각의 모듈의 평균 통과율은 모듈 1이 86.7%, 모듈 2가 85.3%, 모듈 3과 4가 각각 84.0%였으며, 4개 모듈의 평균점수는 88.6이었다. 결론 : 의학시뮬레이션이 비록 완전하게 통과되지는 않았지만 학생들로 하여금 실제적인 임상경험을 가능하게 하였다. 하지만 이는 아직은 기존의 교육방식의 보조적인 역할을 담당한다고 할 수 있으며 향후 좀 더 다양한 방법으로 반복된 시뮬레이션 교육과 이에 대한 평가가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 아울러 의학시뮬레이션의 다양한 교육방법에 대하여 소개를 하고자 하였다.
