An Effective TOA-based Localization Method with Adaptive Bias Computation

  • In this paper, we propose an effective time-of-arrival (TOA)-based localization method with adaptive bias computation in indoor environments. The goal of the localization is to estimate an accurate target's location in wireless localization system. However, in indoor environments, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) errors block the signal propagation between target device and base station. The NLOS errors have significant effects on ranging between two devices for wireless localization. In TOA-based localization, finding the target's location inside the overlapped area in the TOA-circles is difficult. We present an effective localization method using compensated distance with adaptive bias computation. The proposed method is possible for the target's location to estimate an accurate location in the overlapped area using the measured distances with subtracted adaptive bias. Through localization experiments in indoor environments, estimation error is reduced comparing to the conventional localization methods.

다목적 헬기용 DIRCM의 시뮬레이션 기반 장착위치 선정 연구 (A Study on Simulation-based Mounting Location Selection of DIRCM for Multi-purpose Helicopter)

  • DIRCM is a device that deception missiles by directing the light source to missile seeker with infra-red laser based turret. The effectiveness of the device is affected by changes of the turret's Field of View (FoV), and also influence of the interference devices determines the effect of the DIRCM's effectiveness. Therefore finding mounting location for DIRCM is critical parameter for the DIRCM's effectiveness. so we applied stiffness review, interference analysis, FoV analysis and simulation analysis method to Multi-purpose helicopter for the find DIRCM location. As a result, in case of 1 DIRCM mounted at helicopters bottom shows 30~40% survivability. case of 2 DIRCM mounted at both side shows 70~80% survivability.

Location-Based Saliency Maps from a Fully Connected Layer using Multi-Shapes

  • Recently, with the development of technology, computer vision research based on the human visual system has been actively conducted. Saliency maps have been used to highlight areas that are visually interesting within the image, but they can suffer from low performance due to external factors, such as an indistinct background or light source. In this study, existing color, brightness, and contrast feature maps are subjected to multiple shape and orientation filters and then connected to a fully connected layer to determine pixel intensities within the image based on location-based weights. The proposed method demonstrates better performance in separating the background from the area of interest in terms of color and brightness in the presence of external elements and noise. Location-based weight normalization is also effective in removing pixels with high intensity that are outside of the image or in non-interest regions. Our proposed method also demonstrates that multi-filter normalization can be processed faster using parallel processing.

Multi-Dimensional Selection Method of Port Logistics Location Based on Entropy Weight Method

  • In order to effectively relieve the traffic pressure of the city, ensure the smooth flow of freight and promote the development of the logistics industry, the selection of appropriate port logistics location is the basis of giving full play to the port logistics function. In order to better realize the selection of port logistics, this paper adopts the entropy weight method to set up a multi-dimensional evaluation index, and constructs the evaluation model of port logistics location. Then through the actual case, from the environmental dimension and economic competition dimension to make choices and analysis. The results show that port d has the largest logistics competitiveness and the highest relative proximity among the three indicators of hinterland city economic activity, hinterland economic structure, and port operation capacity of different port logistics locations, which has absolute advantages. It is hoped that the research results can provide a reference for the multi-dimensional selection of port logistics site selections.

실시간 위치 기반 서비스를 위한 확장 SLDS 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of the Extended SLDS for Real-time Location Based Services)

  • 최근 이동 컴퓨팅 기술과 무선 측위 기술이 급속도로 발전하고 무선 인터넷이 보편화됨에 따라 이동체의 위치 정보를 활용하는 위치 기반 서비스(LBS: Location Based Service)가 다양한 분야에서 제공되고 있다. 위치 기반 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 이동체의 위치 정보를 주기적으로 저장하는 위치 데이타 서버가 필요하다. 기존에는 이동체의 위치 데이타를 저장하기 위해서 GIS 서버를 사용해 왔다. 하지만 GIS 서버는 정적 데이타를 기반으로 설계되었기 때문에 이동체의 위치 데이타를 저장하는데 적합하지 않다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이동체의 위치 데이타를 관리하기 위해 제안된 클러스터 기반 분산 컴퓨팅 구조를 갖는 GALIS(Gracefully Aging Location Information System) 아키텍처의 서브 시스템인 SLDS(Short-term Location Data Subsystem)를 확장하여 실시간 위치 기반 서비스를 위한 확장 SLDS를 설계 및 구현하였다. 확장 SLDS는 TMO(Time-triggered Message-triggered Object) 프로그래밍 기법을 이용하여 위치 데이타 처리의 실시간성을 보장하며, 이동체 데이타를 다수의 노드에 적절히 분산시킴으로써 대용량 위치 데이타를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있다. 그리고, 메인메모리에서 위치 데이타를 관리하기 때문에 검색 및 갱신 오버헤드가 적다. 또한, 실험을 통하여 확장 SLDS는 기존에 제시된 SLDS 보다 더 효율적인 저장과 부하 분산을 수행한다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문은 지능형 위치추적을 위한 위치트리거와 이동에이전트 시스템 기술을 적용하여, 상황인식 기반 위치서비스를 위한 위치트리거 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 또한, 트리거 및 조치 서비스 프로토콜 구현과 능동규칙 탑재 이동에이전트에 대한 실험을 통하여, 제안 시스템이 상황인식 기반 위치서비스의 특성에 따른 시스템 최적화 및 위치 기반 서비스 응용들에 대한 확장성과 유효성이 있음을 검증한다. 제안 시스템은 전력 사용자의 소비 패턴 및 행위 변화에 대한 시스템의 능동적 특성을 통한 자원 활용의 최적화 시스템 구축을 위한 예비 연구로써, 객체 위치 기반의 지능적 경고와 조치를 통한 환경 및 자원 활용 최적화와 다양한 위치서비스 응용 시스템 구축에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있다.

Although there are various kinds of method to solve this, approached from super conductivity Fault Current Limiter application viewpoint among them. High Temperature Superconductor-Fault Current Limiter (HTS-FCL) development is progressing according to HTS technology development, and system application is tried. For actual system application of such super conductivity FCL, an efficient method to find FCL locations suitable for reduction of short circuit currents of more than one fault location is developed.

Development of MATLAB GUI Based Software for Monitoring Ionospheric Disturbances

  • This study introduces MATLAB Graphical User Interface (GUI)-based software to monitor ionospheric disturbances. This software detects ionospheric disturbances using Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) measurements, and estimates a location of the disturbance source through the detected disturbance. In addition, this software includes a sky plot making function and frequency analysis function through wavelet transform. To evaluate the performance of the developed software, data of 2011 Tohoku earthquake in Japan were analyzed by using the software. The analysis results verified that the ionospheric disturbances were detected through GPS and GLONASS measurements, and the location of the disturbance source was estimated through the detected disturbance.

  • "Domestic delivery service" is defined the service to deliver goods or packages from point of senders to point of receiver. With the characteristics of door to door, it is must a service provider should know the exact location of destination assuring best utilization of moving path. Generally, location information consist of postal code and address only, which result in difficulties to identify the precise location of destination. It is relatively less correlated between the information that address refers and practical location in Korea address system. For example, the next door to house number 100 is not always house number 101. Therefore, a delivery man additionally uses a paper map or a GPS navigation which carry extra job to input every code of location to the device in order to know precise location. It is also very inconvenient that every delivery man identify the location that address information refers and make a personal decision of the optimum moving path dropping each destination without calculating provisioning process of whole delivery path. As explained above, it is inefficient to find information delivery service required and to generate the optimum path. In results, these difficulties bring in delay of service and increase of cost. In this point, the contents of the thesis suggest a GPS navigation system easy to obtain accuracy of delivery information which enables to automate optimum moving path based on RFID which contains location information.
