Then we suggest that to prepare the next national mathematical curriculum, we consider the method to deduce the math-dislike, the method to increase the power of problem solving etc. and also we construct a compact curriculum which contains most of important math items. In the process of developing the curriculum, we must have lively discussion with mathematicians, and especially with teachers.

  • Patient safety is achieved through systematic improvement based on the knowledge and willingness of medical professionals. A systematic longitudinal curriculum for patient safety is essential to prepare medical students and professionals. The purpose of this article is to introduce our experience with a 'workshop for developing a patient safety curriculum' and to compare the results with previous studies. The workshop comprising 15 medical professors and patient safety experts met for 2 days. The Consensus Workshop method was applied, collecting opinions from all of the members and reaching consensus through the following stages: context, brainstorm, cluster, name, and resolve. The patient safety curriculum was developed by this method, covering patient safety topics and issues, and teaching and assessment methods. A total of 7 topics were extracted, 'activities for patient safety, concepts of patient safety, leadership and teamwork, error disclosure, self-management, patient education, policies.' Issues, teaching methods, and assessment methods were developed for each topic. The patient safety curriculum developed from the workshop was similar to previous curricula developed by other institutions and medical schools. The Consensus Workshop method proved to be an effective approach to developing a patient safety curriculum.

  • An outcome-based curriculum is perceived to be one alternative educational approach in medical education. Nonetheless, it is difficult for curriculum developers to convert from traditional curriculum to an outcome-based curriculum because research documenting its development process is rare. Therefore, this study aims to introduce the development process and method of outcome-based curriculum. For the purpose of this study, we used diverse data analyses, such as an existing literature search, development model analysis, and case analysis. We identified five phases from the analysis. First, the curriculum developers analyze the physician's job or a high performer in a medical situation. Second, curriculum developers extract outcomes and competencies through developing a curriculum, affinity diagraming, and critical incident interviews. Third, curriculum developers determine the proficiency levels of each outcome and competency evaluation methods. Fourth, curriculum developers conduct curriculum mapping with outcomes and competencies. Fifth, curriculum developers develop an educational system. Also, it is important to develop an assessment system for the curriculum implementation in the process of developing the outcome-based curriculum. An outcome-based curriculum influences all the people concerned with education in a medical school including the professors, students, and administrative staff members. Therefore, curriculum developers should consider not only performance assessment tools for the students but also assessment indicators for checking curriculum implementation and managing curriculum quality.

The job definition of food safety specialist is one who manages food safety through analysis, safety evaluation, inspection, and hazard blocking in all processes related to the purchase, distribution, storage, manufacture, and marketing of foods and food materials. The job description on the DACUM research chart for food safety specialist contained 7 duties and 79 tasks. Its duties were defined as the specific and independent work of a food safety specialist, and were composed of 7 duties, i.e. hazard analysis of foods and related affairs, safety evaluation of purchased food materials, safety management of food/food materials distribution/storage, safety management of food manufacture, safety examination of food marketing, administration affairs on food safety, and self-development. For the future, this study suggests a curriculum, that shall be basis of program planning and food safety operation for subjects within many schools.

  • E-business curriculum needs to be developed reflecting requirements of the industry which involve a close relation with a job performed in the field, and a professional knowledge and an expert skill. In this paper, we present a method based on a market-oriented approach for developing an I-business curriculum. For the purpose, we analyze the opinion data resulting from the surveyed opinions of respondents working for I-business companies and evaluate the importance of each course being involved in the curriculum with respect to the job classification (e.g., Web planner, Web master, Web programmer, Web marketer, Web designer, Web PD), and then, complete a flow diagram considering precedence and relative difficulty among the selected courses. The E-business curriculum developed by the proposed method is useful to provide guidelines for determining courses required toward a desired job and for making a partial amendment of the curriculum.

  • The government intends to pursue a program to develop LINC from 2012. Through this program, the government intends to nurture expert manpower required by the areas of industry, research and development, and technology transfer. For this, it wants to create and expand various leader models of industry-university cooperation. Therefore, this study is focused on the method of developing a robust curriculum suitable for educating students to a level where they are ready to work upon graduation. In this study, curriculums used by some universities which have been taken part in the program of industry-university cooperation have been examined. As a result there are some suggestions for the future of this curriculum, and they are as follows: firstly, in order to overcome the gap between universities and industries, universities should survey the requirement of local industries and apply this to developing a curriculum for industry-university cooperation; secondly, DACUM should be used and finally, the curriculum for industry-university cooperation should build upon a stepwise-model in the form of a foundation-core-intensification course throughout a student's university years.

So far, the field has seen various studies on the development of competencies, performance evaluation, and the importance of outcome-based education, but few studies have documented the development of such an education model. Therefore, this study develops an OBE curriculum for dentistry education and describes the development procedures and then finally this study intends to share our experience to other dental schools. Methods: This study introduces the development procedure and details of an outcome-based education model for dental education and presents the five stages of an outcome-based education model. In this study, 3 educational experts and 2 dental professor composed the TFT and developed the research method according to the ADDIE model. Step 1 is to conduct quantitative / qualitative research analysis through some survey and interview, Step 2 is to do a survey to revise competency, Step 3 is to develop a materials through consensus and participation of our professors of the dental school, Step 4 is to do some workshops, Step 5 is to prepare and conduct a outcome evaluation. Results: Step 1 is a required process for developing an educational model: the Job Analysis & Need Analysis stage. Step 2 is the Development of Outcome and Competency stage, which involves revising the competencies that are the basis of the curriculum. Step 3 is developing competency descriptions, competency levels, and evaluation criteria?the Development of Outcomes and Evaluation Standards. Step 4 is the Development of Milestones for Curriculum and Instructional Strategy, which examines the curriculum's problems and analyzes the improvements of each course. Step 5 is the Evaluating Outcomes stage, conducted based on the competencies specified by the target dental school. Conclustion: The model presented here can serve as a foundation for outcome-based education in other dental schools.
