이론적 방법에 의한 제습로터 최적 회전속도의 결정 (Theoretical Determination of Optimum Rotating Speed of Desiccant Rotor)

  • A simple equation to find a optimum speed of desiccant rotor is presented in this theoretical study. Usually the determination of optimum speed of desiccant rotor requires tedious and lengthy procedures by solving governing differential equations with many complicated parameters. The determining equation of optimal rotating speed is derivated from governing differential equations with three linearization assumptions, which simplify temperature profile linear along the desiccant rotor depth, psychrometric chart within a proper range, and relative humidity-sorption capacity relation. This study shows that the dominant parameters of optimal rotating speed of desiccant rotor are NTU, flow velocity, desiccant rotor depth, and temperature different between dehumidification and regeneration. The comparison shows the good agreement between complicated calculation results and simple theoretical equation prediction.

Determination of a Minimum Detectable Activity through a Measurement of Pu Isotopes in Environmental Samples

  • In this paper, several parameters affecting the sensitivity and determining the minimum detectable activity (MDA) for the measurement of the Pu isotopes were investigated. Among the parameters affecting the determination of the MDA values for the Pu isotopes in the environmental samples, amounts of the samples appeared to be crucial factors in decreasing the MDA values. The MDA for the Pu isotopes in the environmental samples were calculated by varying the counting time of the samples and background. The results obtained in this study can be used for an environmental radiation monitoring program regarding the level of concern for a radionuclide beyond which some action may need to be taken.

  • 램프형 A/D 변환기의 직선도의 정밀도에 영향을 미치는 여러 가지 원인들을 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 아울러 램프형 A/D 변환기의 직선도, 정밀도, 및 상계오차를 개선하기 위한 회로소자의 결정방법을 제안하였다. Various factors which affect the linearity and accuracy of the ramp type analog-to-digital converter have been investigated experimentally. A suggestion hav been made in the determination of circuit parameters with the emphasis on the improvement of the linearity and accuracy in the ramp type analog-to-digital conveter.

  • This paper deals with the problem of synthesis of the 3-dimensional Grasp Planning. In previous studies the genetic algorithm has been used to find optimal grasping points, but it had a limitation such as the determination time of grasping points was so long. To overcome this limitation we proposed a new algorithm which employs the Neural Network. In the Neural network we chose input parameters based on the shape of the object and output parameters resulted from optimization with the GA method. In this study the GRNN method is employed, it has been trained by the result value of optimization method and it has been tested by known object. The algorithm is verified by computer simulation.

  • The determination of feasible design flood is the most important to control flood damage in river management. Model parameters should be calibrated using observed discharge but due to deficiency of observed data the parameters have been adopted by engineer's empirical sense. Storage constant in the Clark unit hydrograph method mainly affects magnitude of peak flood. This study is to estimate the storage constant based on the observed rainfall-runoff data at the three stage stations in the Imjin river basin and the three stage stations in the Ansung river basin. In this study four methods have been proposed to estimate the storage constant from observed rainfall-runoff data. The HEC-HMS model has been adopted to execute the sensitivity of storage constant. A criteria has been proposed to determine storage constant based on the results of the observed hydrograph and the HEC-HMS model.

  • It is essential to carry out appropriate site investigations for the accurate prediction of the geo-structure. However, the importance of the site investigation is often overlooked due to the time and expense constraints. In this study, several cases of geotechnical design perfromed in United States are introduced with the lessons about how the site investigations are planned, performed and applied for the actual design parameter determination. Based on the case studies presented herein, experienced geotechnical engineer should participate in site investigations from the planning stage through the final boring logs and utilize all the laboratory and field tests to have consistent input parameters for the soil constitutive models. Furthermore, it is also desired to have close relationship between construction industry and the academia to compensate their needs.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the extent of the rheology parameters at the segregation boundary of mid-range workability concrete. In addition, it was intended to present the extent of the rheology parameters of the normal strength concrete with segregation resistance using the determination of segregation occurrence of concrete and the use of the rheology parameters. However, it was confirmed that segregation occurs even if the measured rheology parameters is in the range of the suggested rheology parameters. Therefore, it is determined that the conditions under which segregation occurs will provide fundamental data that can be rheological defined. Additional studies are also needed on the relationship between rheological parameters and segregation.

추론모델을 통한 강우-유출모형 매개변수의 간접추정법 적용 (Application of Inference Models for Estimating Parameters of a Catchment Modelling System)

  • 모델의 적용에 있어서 안정성과 신뢰성 있는 예측치를 얻기 위해서는 그 유역의 장기간의 강우-유출 기록자료들이 필요하다. 그러나 대부분의 유역들은 계측이 이루어지지 않아 수문기록 자료들을 전혀 보유하고 있지 않거나, 설사 있다하더라도 모델검정에 필요한 충분한 자료들을 보유하고 있지 않은 실정이므로 이러한 유역들에 있어 모델적용은 상당한 어려움을 수반한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 미계측 유역 및 기록자료들이 미비한 계측유역의 모델적용에 있어서 정확한 모델변수추정을 꾀하고 이로 인한 모델의 신뢰도를 높이기 위하여 추론모델을 통한 매개변수추정을 도모한 간접추정법을 개발하였다. 수량 및 수질 모의에 가장 민감하게 영향을 미치는 토지이용인자를 주 요소로 하여 유도된 추론 모델은 현재 널리 사용되고 있는 SWMM(Storm Water Management Model)의 매개변수 추정에 사용할 수 있도록 유도되었으며, 추론모델의 적용성 효과를 최대화하기 위하여 추론모델에 필요한 유역의 지형특성인자들은 지리정보시스템을 이용하여 추출하였다. 제안된 방법의 적용성 실험은 호주 시드니에 위치한 센테니얼 파크 유역 (Centennial Park catchment)을 대상으로 하였다. 간접추정법을 적용한 경우 기존의 모델 검정방법을 통해 모델 변수를 추정한 경우보다 모델 예측치의 신뢰도를 월등히 높일 수 있었음은 물론, 제안된 추정법의 적용에 의한 각 소유역내의 상당한 수의 지형특성변수들의 추정에 드는 엄청난 시간과 노력을 최소화 할 수 있었다.
