The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a healing garden program based on internal factors of vocational adaptation on career attitude for college students with developmental disabilities. First, healing garden program was defined by a group of experts related to education for developmental disabilities in the industry and academia through the focus group interview. Second, the healing garden program for college students with developmental disabilities was carried out for 15 weeks. Third, this study examined the effects of healing garden program based on internal factors of vocational adaptation on career attitude for college students with developmental disabilities. The participants of this study were 55 college students with developmental disabilities in N University, with 25 students placed in the experimental group and the other 30 in the control group. As a result of examination, the difference between before and after the program, it was found that factors of career attitude were improved significantly after the program in the experimental group, with Factor 1 (determination) increased from 2.08 to 3.39, Factor 2 (finality) from 2.28 to 3.19, Factor 3 (confidence) from 2.20 to 3.69, Factor 4 (preparation) from 2.12 to 3.79, and Factor 5 (independence) from 1.88 to 3.63. But the control group did not show a significant improvement after 15 weeks of the program except Factor 3 (confidence) and Factor 5 (independence). It was found that the healing garden program based on internal factors of vocational adaptation had effects on career attitude for college students with developmental disabilities. Finally, the program will contribute to vocational rehabilitation for college students with disabilities. The findings further suggest that healing gardening programs that facilitate career attitudes must be continuously developed and applied in order to establish effective transition from school to the world of vocational adaptation.

SPEX SkinSkan is a newly developed spectrofluorometer that can calculate transmission of UVA on the surface of human skin as a non-invasive method. We have investigated UVA protection factors of Japanese over-the-counter sunscreens using SPEX SkinSkan. This non-invasive method is useful to know UVA protection of sunscreens in vivo.

Recently, audio-visual speech recognition (AVSR) has been studied to cope with noise problems in speech recognition. In this paper we propose a novel method of deciding weighting factors for audio-visual information fusion. We adopt the particle swarm optimization (PSO) to weighting factor determination. The AVSR experiments show that PSO-based normalized confidence measures (NCM) improve the rejection performance of mis-recognized words by 33%.

EEG(electroencephalogram) is attempted to determination of human emotion. Ten university students were participated in this study. Ten auditory stimuli were presented for a subject to evoke emotion. Data homogeneity according to brain local area and basic mechanism of relative variation for combinational delta, theta, alpha and beta waves were analyzed. As the result, the local area characterized by factor analysis and the relative variation of alpha-delta wave can be considered as the determinants of human emotion.

Modified Vainshtok weight function method is developed. The thermal shock stress intensity factors for elliptical surface cracks existed in the thin and thick walled cylinders are determined. The present results are compared with previous solutions and shown to be good agreement with them.

In general, the evaluation of water supply capacity is important factor to establish various establishment of water resource supply plan include water resource security and determination of dam's mass. But former researchs about estimation of water supply capacity were lack in continunity of evaluation basis, and didn't excute analysis on reliability criteria also. In this study, Nakdong river was selected for study basin, and then water supply capacity was analyzed by HEC-5 model using identical reliability criteria.

The determination of appropriate buffer capacity is an important issue in the design of the advanced manufacturing systems and closely related to the system efficiency and flexibility. Work-in-process is usually not desirable. However, in reality, maintaining some capacity of buffer storage is inevitable in compensation for the machine blocking and break down. The objective of this paper is to present analytical methods and tools for the buffer capacity planning in the Flexible Manufacturing System Environments. The effects when machine blocking is critical factor are also discussed.

This paper addresses on new codes of practice, limit state design; load resistance factored design and Eurocode 7, which have recently been adopted by foundation engineers in North America and European Communities. A brief description of the limit state design concepts and some introductions to Australia and Sweden national code for pile foundation are made on behalf of pile capacity determination. Also, simple closed form solution for rational resistance factor when resistance is log-normally distributed, has been derived for pile foundation.

Color is an imfortant factor for interior design. But both selecting the appropriate color and combinating many color are not easy. Actually designers spend much time searching interior images published in magazine to refer to previous cases of the color combination. And the side up, they undergo a process to try to search own hoping color in the interior design example of the magazine. As an alternative to avoid this inefficient process, this study provides a method to show good cases of color combination. This method can reduce trial and error in the determination the color combination.
