수삼의 저장온도가 유통 중 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Storage Temperature on Quality of Fresh Ginseng during Distribution)

  • Background : This study was conducted to determine out the effect of storage temperature on the quality of fresh ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) during distribution. Methods and Results : Fresh ginseng was washed, packed in $30{\mu}m$ low density polyethylene (LDPE) film, then stored at 0, -2 and $-4^{\circ}C$. After 4 weeks of storage, ginseng was then stored at $5^{\circ}C$, as a simulation of the distribution process. Ginseng stored at $-4^{\circ}C$ showed higher respiration rate, ethylene production and electrolyte conductivity during the distribution phase than those stored at 0 and $-2^{\circ}C$. Decay and browning rate rapidly increased following 3 weeks of distribution in samples stored $-4^{\circ}C$. However ginseng stored $-2^{\circ}C$, which is below freezing point, for 4 weeks did not show the physiological change or quality deterioration. Ginsenoside contents decreased during storage for all plant, but did not differ significantly between storage temperatures. Conclusions : Storage at temperatures below $-2^{\circ}C$ can negatively affect respiratory characteristics and electrolyte leakage and increase quality deterioration and decay rates during distribution.

도장 오염이 Electric Cable의 성능에 미치는 영향 연구 (A Study on Effect of Coating Stain on the Performance of Electric Cable)

  • After the installation of electric cables at block, PE(pre-erection) and hull stages, the coating stains on the electric cable sheath were unavoidably occurred by additional painting process. According to class rules paint or coating applied on the electric cables shall not adversely affect the mechanical, chemical of fire resistant characteristics of the electric cable sheath. However, there has not been quantitatively studied about the effect of coating stains on properties of sheath materials. In this study, we tried to investigate the effect of coating stains on the performance and deterioration of sheath materials by using FTIR, SEM analysis, flame retardant, high potential voltage and tensile test. The results sowed that coating stains, which were occurred during painting work on site could not adversely affect on the performance and deterioration of sheath materials.

나노유체 토로이달 자연대류 루프에서의 열전달 특성 (Heat Transfer Characteristics on Toroidal Convection Loop with Nanofluids)

  • Experimental studies on single-phase toroidal circulation loop(thermosyphon) have been performed in the present study with Ag-nanofluids as a working fluids. The present paper deals with an experimental study on the heat transfer behavior of single-phase toroidal loop. Toroidal loop charged with nanofluid has been constructed and a number of tests have been carried out. Different geometric parameter, e.g., orientation has been investigated. The tests were conducted employing two fluids: distilled water and Ag-nanofluid of various volume concentrations. The experiments at Rayleigh number from $10^5$ to $10^6$ showed a systematic and slight deterioration in natural convective heat transfer. It was observed that the deterioration due to the particle concentration was in the range of 5-10%. At a given particle concentration of 0.05%, abrupt decrease in the Nusselt number and the Raleigh number was observed. The present study with toroidal loop shows that the application of nanofluids for heat transfer intensification should not be decided only by the effective thermal conductivity with increasing particle concentration.

  • It is necessary to study a conductive characteristics of electrical facilities covered with particulate for the analysis of electrical accidents in vulnerable area where are included market place, a sawmill and so on. Therefore, there are studied on risk assessment and contact angle measure(CAM) according to surface deterioration of PVC and phenolic resin Through the contact angle measure of samples, there are ascertain whether hydrophobicity or not. These data would used to be judged by the causes of electrical accidents.

  • 현재 영화, TV, 카메라, 광고 등과 같은 대중 매체를 이용한 영상 처리 기술들이 급속도로 발전되고 있다. 그러나 영상은 데이터를 처리 전송 및 저장하는 과정에서 열화가 발생하며, 주요한 원인은 salt and pepper 잡음이 대표적이다. salt and pepper 잡음을 제거하기 위한 대표적인 필터는 CWMF(center weighted median filter), AMF(adaptive median filter) 등이 있으며, 이러한 필터들은 잡음 밀도가 높아짐에 따라 잡음제거 특성이 다소 미흡해지고 시각적인 오류를 나타낸다. 따라서 본 논문은 salt and pepper 잡음을 효과적으로 제거하기 위해, 4개의 영역으로 세분화된 국부마스크를 적용한 메디안 필터를 제안하였으며, 판단 기준으로 PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio)를 사용하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is performance validation of district heating apartments about heating energy consumption and analysis of energy consumption by unit characteristics. The heating energy consumption of the existing apartments was analyzed and the analyzed results will be used for energy saving technology development and policy making. The heating energy consumption data about total 78 apartment complexes, 56,910 units in Gangnam-Gu, Seoul, Korea were investigated from October, 2010 to April 2011. The analysis results are as follows; The mean heating energy consumption is 98[kWh/m2]. The energy consumption of Apgujung-Dong, Daechi-Dong is higher than that of mean valuse. The energy consumption deviation by deterioration, unit area, core type and regional group is very high. Specially, building deterioration casts a long shadow.

Characteristics of Nano-Particles Exhausted from Diesel Passenger Vehicle with DPF

  • The nano-particles are known to influence the environmental protection and human health. The relationships between transient vehicle operation and nano-particle emissions are not well-known, especially for diesel passenger vehicles with DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter). In this study, two diesel passenger vehicles were measured on a chassis dynamometer test bench. The particulate matter (PM) emission of these vehicles was investigated by number and mass measurement. The mass of the total PM was evaluated using the standard gravimetric measurement method, and the total number concentrations were measured on a ECE15+EUDC driving cycle using Condensation Particle Counter (CPC). According to the investigation results, total number concentration was $1.14{\times}10^{11}$M and mass concentration was 0.71mg/km. About 99% of total number concentration was emitted during the $0{\sim}400s$ because of engine cold condition. In high temperature and high speed duration, the particulate matter was increased but particle concentration was emitted not yet except initial engine cold condition According to DPF performance deterioration, the particulate matter was emitted 2 times and particle concentration was emitted 32 times. Thus DPF performance deterioration affects particle concentration more than PM.

  • In this paper, frequency spectra of AE signals detected from respective the insulation deterioration were analysed to under ac high-voltage application using epoxy resin sample and insulation oil. Also, frequency spectra of AE signals generated from the load currents in the actual operating transformer of 500[kVA] under distribution system of 22.9[kVJ] were also analysed to distinguish the AE signals due to void discharges from the magnetic circuit noises in transformer. As the experimental results, we could distinguish the AE signals whether those signals were caused due to the void discharges or due to the magnetic circuit noises by analyzing the frequency spectrum of AE signals.

  • The Global Positioning System (GPS) is becoming more attractive navigation means for LEO (Low Earth Orbit) spacecraft due to the data accuracy and convenience for utilization. The anomalies such as serious variations of Dilution-Of-Precision (DOP), loss of infrequent 3-dimensional position fix, and deterioration of instantaneous accuracy of position and velocity data could be observed, which have not been appeared during the ground testing. It may cause lots of difficulty for the processing of the orbit control algorithm using the GPS data. In this paper, the characteristics of the GPS data were analyzed according to the configuration of GPS receiver such as position fix algorithm and mask angle using GPS navigation data obtained from the first Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT). The problem in orbit tracking using GPS data, including the infrequent deterioration of the accuracy, and an efficient algorithm for its countermeasures has also been introduced. The reliability and efficiency of the modified algorithm were verified by analyzing the effect of the results between algorithm simulation using KOMPSAT flight data and ground simulator.

  • In this paper, The evaluation of durability of the PC Panel lining for tunnel structure was examined through the rapid test by carbonation and freezing and thawing. Also for the purpose of improvement of durability. Namely, the durable characteristics of PC Panel lining by carbonation and freezing and thawing, was evaluated by rapid test and long-term field exposure test and main influence factors were derived. As a result of test, Correlation of accelerating test in deterioration chamber and long-term field exposure test, it will be expected that the proposed correlation well to the prediction of life expectancy of structure and is contributed greatly in the future.
