  • An ability of $NO_2$ gas detection has been investigated using dilithium phthalocyanine($Li_2Pc$) Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films. It is a well-known gas sensitive material and has been manufactured under a surface pressure of 30mN/m. A status of deposited films was confirmed by UV-visible absorption spectrum, ellipsometry measurements and current-voltage characteristics. Gas-detection characteristics of the films were studied through an electrical conductivity, response time, recovery time, and reproducibility under 200 ppm of $NO_2$ gases.

  • This study proposed the analysis of mass position detection and modified stiffness due to the change of the mass and stiffness of structure by using the original and modified dynamic characteristics. The method is applied to examples of a cantilever and 3 degree of freedom by modifying the mass. The predicted detection of mass positions and magnitudes are in good agreement with these from the structural reanalysis using the modified mass.

  • In this study, we examine the characteristics of beam and the effect of these characteristics on the flaw detection by using different type of two transducers, which are PZT and PVDF film transducer. Consequently, the detection of infinitesimal flaw is more possible than PZT, since it has beam width at focus of $60%{\sim}65%$ in contrast with PZT's. Moreover we can know PVDF transducer has superiority in detecting ability for sub-surface flaw detection in view of its acoustic impedance is near to water's and its focusing range is narrower than PZT's as $65{\sim}85%$ because it has spherical surface.

  • In this paper Low Drop-Out (LDO) regulator that improved load regulation characteristics due to the feedback detection structure. The proposed feedback sensing circuit is added between the output of the LDO's internal error amplifier and the input of the pass transistor to improve the regulation of the delta value coming into the output. It has a voltage value with improved load regulation characteristics than existing LDO regulator. The proposed LDO structure was analyzed in Samsung 0.13um process using Cadence's Virtuoso, Spectre simulator.

  • In-situ particle monitors(ISPMs) are widely used for monitoring contaminant particles in vacuum-based semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In the present research, the performance of a Particle Measuring Systems(PMS) Vaculaz-2 ISPM at subatmospheric pressures has been studied. We created uniform upstream conditions of particle concentration and measured the detection efficiency, the lower detection limit, and the size response of the ISPM using uniform sized methylene blue aerosol particles. The effect of particle size, particle velocity, particle concentration, and system pressure on the detection efficiency was examined. Results show that the detection efficiency of the ISPM decreases with decreasing chamber pressure, and with increasing mass flow rate. The lower detection limit of the ISPM, determined at 50 % of the measured maximum detection efficiency, was found to be about $0.15{\sim}0.2{\mu}m$, which is similar to the minimum detectable size of $0.17{\mu}$ given by the manufacturer.

  • MANET has been applied to a wide variety of areas because it has advantages which can build a network quickly in a difficult situation to build a network. However, it is become a victim of malicious nodes because of characteristics such as mobility of nodes consisting MANET, limited resources, and the wireless network. Therefore, it is required to lightweight attack detection technique which can accurately detect attack without causing a large burden to the mobile node. In this paper, we propose a multistage attack detection techniques that attack detection takes place in routing phase and data transfer phase in order to increase the accuracy of attack detection. The proposed attack detection technique is composed of four modules at each stage in order to perform accurate attack detection. Flooding attack and packet discard or modify attacks is detected in the routing phase, and whether the attack by modification of data is detected in the data transfer phase. We assume that nodes have a public key and a private key in pairs in this paper.

  • Many studies in detection and classification of the targets in the underwater environments have been conducted for military purposes, as well as for non-military purpose. Due to the complicated characteristics of underwater acoustic signal reflecting multipath environments and spatio-temporal varying characteristics, active sonar target detection technique has been considered as a difficult technique. In this paper, we describe the basic concept of Fractional Fourier transform and optimal transform order. Then we analyze the relationship between time-frequency characteristics of an LFM signal and its spectrum using Fractional Fourier transform. Based on the analysis results, we present active sonar target detection method. To verify the performance of proposed methods, we compared the results with conventional FFT-based matched filter. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method compared to the conventional method in the aspect of AUC(Area Under the ROC Curve).

  • This paper suggests a method of detecting traffic lights for vehicles by combining the HSV(hue saturation value) color model, morphometric characteristics, and location information appearing on consecutive images in daytime. In order to detect the traffic light, the color corresponding to the signal lights should be explored. It is difficult to detect traffic lights among colors of lights from buildings, taillight of cars, leaves, placards, etc. The proposed algorithm searches for the traffic lights from many candidates using morphometric characteristics and location information in consecutive images. The recognition process is divided into three steps. The first step is to detect candidates after converting RGB channel into HSV color model. The second step is to extract the boundaries between the housing of traffic lights and background by exploiting the assumption that the housing has lower brightness than the surrounding background. The last step is to recognize the signal light after eliminating the false candidates using morphometric characteristics and location information appearing on consecutive images. This paper demonstrates successful detection results of traffic lights from various images captured on the city roads.

  • Through the low orbit GPS satellite a 3-dimensional real time position detection can be achieved anywhere. Utilizing the GPS satellite detection values an analysis of the varing characteristics of the iono- sphere can be achicved, and by calculating the correlation relationship of the position detection error and the ionospheric time delay characteristics, an advanced algorithm technique can be developed. Computer simulation of the developed algorithm for defining the correlation between the position detec- tion error and the varing ionospheric time delay characteristics has been proceeded. The results of simulation reveal the fact that the varing characteristics of the ionosphere nearly match the actual ionospheric time delay characteristics.
