지능형 ESC 시스템을 위한 모델 기반 결함검출 (Model Based Fault Detection for Advanced ESC System)

  • This paper describes a model based fault detection algorithm for an Advanced ESC System which consists of Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) with built-in wheel pressure sensors. Advanced ESC System can be used for various value-added functions such as Stop & Go Function and Regenerative Brake Function. Therefore, HCU must have a reliable fault detection. Due to the huge amount of sensor signals, existing specific sensor based fault detection of HCU cannot guarantee the safety of vehicle. However, proposed algorithm dose not require the sensors. When model based fault detection algorithm detects severe failures of the HCU, it warns the driver in advance to prevent accidents due to the failures. For this purpose, a mathematical model is developed and validated in comparison to actual data. Simulation results and data acquired from an actual system are compared with each other to obtain the information needed for the fault detection process.

원자력 압력용기의 피복하부 결함검출에 대한 고찰(II) (A Study of the Detection for Underclad Cracks of Nuclear Pressure Vessel)

  • 국내 원자력 압력 용기의 피복하부 결함에 대한 검사는 1970년대 초부터 이 피복하부 결함에 대한 보고가 되기 시작하였으나 적용 규격인 ASME Code의 요구사항이 아니므로 현재까지는 검사를 수행해 오지 않고 있다. 본 실험의 목적은 이러한 피복하부 결함을 검출하는데 적절한 초음파검사 방법의 조건을 찾는 것이다. 실험은 $70^{\circ}$굴절종파, 50/70 multibeam탐촉자, SLIC-50 탐촉자 등을 사용하여 원자력 압력용기의 피복 용접과 같은 조건하에서 피복용접 시킨 초음파보정 시험편과 demonstration시험편에 대하여 수행하였다. 실험 결과 피복하부 결함의 검출은 50/70 multibeam탐촉자가 효과적이었으면, 피복하부 결함의 길이 평가는 $70^{\circ}$굴절종파로 수행하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 나타났으며, 반면에 피복하부 결함의 깊이 측정은 SLIC-50 탐촉자를 사용하여 M-SPOT 방범과 M-PET 방법으로 평가하는 것이 가장 효과적인 것으로 사료된다.

과량수혈이 혈역학에 미치는 영향 (Hemodynamic effects of induced overtransfusion of blood in dogs)

  • Appreciation of the large volume deficits which may occur in surgical or trauma patients due to blood loss has led to vigorous transfusion techniques designed to overt hypovolemic shock and ischemic damage to vital organs which may develop in minutes during the hypovolemic state. In a significant proportion of patients treated with massive rapid blood or fluid transfusion, hypervolemia occurs and life threatening pulmonary edema may develop. Especially, hypervolemia may occur during transfusion for preventing development of the so-called low output syndrome following cardiac surgery. However, the most effective indicator which reveals the adequate level of transfusion is not settled yet. The present study was aimed to compare the effectiveness of the indicators suggested thus far and to determine the most sensitive one. Eight dogs were experimentally studied in terms of left atrial pressure, pulmonary arterial systolic pressure, central venous pressure, mean systemic arterial pressure and heart rate before and after induced hypervolemia with infusion of 600ml heparinized homologous blood. Immediately after induced overtransfusion of the blood, pulmonary arterial systolic pressure increased 75.0%, in omparison with the control before transfusion, left atrial pressure 58.8%, central venous pressure 44.6%, and mean systemic arterial pressure 10.1%, one hour after transfusion, pulmonary arterial systolic pressure 40.0%, left atrial pressure 21.2%, central venous pressure 14.5%, and mean systemic arterial pressure 3.2%, central venous pressure 14.5%, and mean systemic arterial pressure 3.2%, respectively. Heart rate showed no significant change throughout the experiment. These result suggested that the changes of the pulmonary arterial systolic pressure is the most sensitive indicator for detection of hypervolemia during blood transfusion.

The Development of a Wearable Prototype to Measure Clothing Pressure through Sensor Calibration Procedure

  • Clothing pressure is considered the essential factor affecting the comfort of clothing, so it is crucial that it is measured precisely. The purpose of this study is to construct a prototype using the Adafruit Flora as the Arduino system, which can be used as a wearable framework for easy, low-cost, and precise clothing pressure measurement. The study also aims to determine how best to conduct the procedure of sensor calibration. To optimize the accuracy of the sensors, the calibration procedure was implemented using mathematical methods that combined polynomial and exponential regression in a hybrid approach. The prototype can easily measure clothing pressure even during active movements, as seen in the detection of stable signals. In addition, since the system was specifically proposed as a wearable patch that can be easily attached and removed as necessary, it can also be used to standardize the value of clothing pressure in each movement.

소방펌프의 운전상태에 따른 유도전동기의 이상 신호 분석 (Analysis of Abnormal Signals for Induction Motor according to Operating Status of Fire Pumps)

  • This article aims to develop an algorithm that detects fire pump defects by analyzing the current signals of an induction motor, which are triggered by changes in the flow rate and pressure of multistage volute pumps that are used for fire services. The operational status of the pumps was categorized into three: first, normal operation; second, a defect that is caused by a change in the current value; and third, a defect occasioned by a change in current, pressure, and flow rate. When a fire pump was in normal operation, the motor's operating current was measured between 5.06 A and 6.9 A, the flow rate was estimated at 0-0.27 m3/min, and the pressure ranged from 0 to 0.47 MPa. In the event that a defect was caused by an abnormal current value in the motor, it was attributed to the pump's adherence. Furthermore, if there was no source of water, the defect was considered to have been induced by phase-loss operation, no-load operation, or run-stop operation, with the current value of each scenario being measured at > 52.8 A, < 4.13 A, > 45.15 A, and < 3.8 A, respectively, placing its overall range between 0 and 50 A. The sources of defects were detected based on an analysis of the flow rate, pressure, and current, which represent the following causes: air inflow into the casing, inadequate suction of water, and reverse-phase operation, respectively. Each cause entailed the following values: when air seeped into the casing, the pressure was measured at 0.24 MPa irrespective of changes in the flow rate; when there was inadequate suction of water, the pressure was recorded between 0 and 0.05 MPa despite changes in the flow rate; and when the power line's reverse-phase loss was the cause of the defect, the pressure was measured at 0.33 MPa for a flow rate of 0 L/min, and a higher flow rate decreased the pressure to nearly 0 MPa. The results of this study will enable engineers to develop a pump defect detection algorithm that is based on an analysis of current, and this algorithm will facilitate the execution of a program that will control a fire pump defect detection system.

음향방출을 이용한 복합재 압력용기의 건전성 평가 (The Structural Integrity Evaluation of Composite Pressure Vessel Using Acoustic Emission)

  • 본 연구에서는 음향방출법을 활용한 복합재 연소관의 구조적 건전성 평가 방법을 개발하기 위하여 표준 평가용 시험 시편의 수압 시험 중, 압력용기로부터 방출되는 음향방출 신호를 측정함으로써 시편이 파괴되기 전, 대략적인 시편의 파열 위치 예측 및 일정 압력 유지 상태에서 hit rate(hit/sec) 양상에 의한 시편의 건전성 평가 방법을 제시하였다. 데이터 분석 기법의 향상을 위하여 음향방출 데이터를 시간 및 센서별로 분류하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 수압 시험을 낮은 압력 단계부터 높은압력 단계까지 일정 압력 유지 상태에서 발생한 hit 수와 1분간 유지한 후, 발생되는 hit rate의 값의 크고 작음이 복합재 압력 용기의 결함수의 증감으로 나타났으며, 이로부터 복합재 압력 용기의 파열 압력과의 상관 관계 및 건전성을 예측할 수 있었다. 복합재 압력 용기의 파열 위치는 energy rate(energy/sec) 측정값을 분석하여 예측하였으며, 시편 파열 압력의 25∼36%에서 가능하였다.

Assessment of Leak Detection Capability of CANDU 6 Annulus Gas System Using Moisture Injection Tests

  • The CANDU 6 reactor assembly consists of an array of 380 pressure tubes, which are installed horizontally in a large cylindrical vessel, the Calandria, containing the low pressure heavy water moderator. The pressure tube is located inside the calandria tube and the annulus between these tubes, which forms a closed loop with $CO_2$ gas recirculating, is called the Annulus Gas System(AGS). It is designed to give an alarm to the operator even for a small pressure tube leak by a very sensitive dew point meter so that he can take a preventive action for the pressure tube rupture incident. To judge whether the operator action time is enough or not in the design of Wolsong 2,3 & 4, the Leak Before Break(LBB) assessment is required for the analysis of the pressure tube failure accident. In order to provide the required data for the LBB assessment of Wolsong Units 2, 3, 4, a series of leak detection capability tests was performed by injecting controlled rates of heavy water vapour. The data of increased dew point and rates of rise were measured to determine the alarm set point for the dew point rate of rise of Wolsong Unit 2. It was found that the response of the dew point depends on the moisture injection rate, $CO_2$ gas flow rate and the leak location. The test showed that CANDU 6 AGS can detect the very small leaks less than few g/hr and dew point rate of rise alarm can be the most reliable alarm signal to warn the operator. Considering the present results, the first response time of dew point to the AGS $CO_2$ flow rate is approximated.

  • A pressure sensor that mimics the sensing ability of human skin has emerged as high-profile technology because it shows remarkable applications in numerous fields such as robotics, human health monitoring, and artificial prosthetics. Whereas recent pressure sensors have achieved high sensitivity similar to that of human skin, they still show limited detection bandwidth. Moreover, once these e-skin are fabricated, their sensitivity and stiffness are fixed; therefore, they can be used for only limited applications. Our study proposes a new adaptive pressure sensor built with uniform gallium microdroplet-elastomer composite. Based on the phase transition of gallium microdroplets, the proposed sensor undergoes mode transformation, enabling it to have a higher sensitivity and wider detection bandwidth compared with those of human skin. In addition, we succeeded in extending a single adaptive pressure sensor to sensor arrays based on its high uniformity, reproducibility, and large-scale manufacturability. Finally, we designed an adaptive e-skin with the sensor array and demonstrated its applications on health monitoring tasks including blood pulse and body weight measurements.

HOG 특징과 다중 프레임 연산을 이용한 보행자 탐지 (Pedestrian Detection using HOG Feature and Multi-Frame Operation)

  • A large number of vision applications rely on matching keypoints across images. Pedestrian detection is under constant pressure to increase both its quality and speed. Such progress allows for new application. A higher speed enables its inclusion into large systems with extensive subsequent processing, and its deployment in computationally constrained scenarios. In this paper, we focus on improving the speed of pedestrian detection using HOG(histogram of oriented gradient) and multi frame operation which is robust to illumination changes in cluttering images. The result of our simulation indicates that the detection rate and speed of the proposed method is much faster than that of conventional HOG and differential images.

가스추진 LNG 운반선의 가스 압축기실에 설치된 가스검출장치의 최적 배치에 관한 연구 (Optimal Gas Detection System in Cargo Compressor Room of Gas Fueled LNG Carrier)

  • 본 연구는 가스추진 174K급 LNG 운반선의 가스 압축기실에서 발생하는 가스누출 모사를 통해 가스탐지기의 최적 위치를 분석하였으며, 새로 개정된 IGC 코드에 명시된 안전규정을 만족하는 합리적인 방법도 함께 제안하였다. 가스압축기실에서의 LNG 가스누출 수치해석을 위해, 실제 ME-GI 엔진이 장착된 174K급 LNG 운반선의 압축기실 형상과 장비, 배관의 배치와 같은 치수로 3D 설계되었다. 가스누설에 대한 시나리오는 305 bar의 높은 압력과 1 bar의 낮은 압력을 적용하여 진행하였다. 고압용 핀홀의 크기는 4.5, 5.0, 5.6 mm이고 저압용은 100, 140 mm이다. 해석 결과, 5.6 mm 핀홀(고압)과 100, 140 mm 핀홀(저압) 상태의 누출에 대한 환기평가에서 가연성 가스농도는 심각한 위험이 없음을 확인하였다. 그러나 개정된 IGC 코드에 따라 설치된 압축기실의 가스 감지 센서의 실제 위치는 다른 지점으로 이동해야 하고, 측정 지점이 현 규정에서 요구하는 것보다 더 추가되어야 함을 확인하였다.
