IT제품의 유니버설 디자인을 위한 사용실태조사 (An Investigation of Using Practices for Universal Design of Information Technology Products)

  • This study investigated perceived discomfort and reasons related to use three information technology products (personal computer, mobile phone and digital television remote controller), and extracted the universal design factors. 240 people (30 females and 30 males for four age groups) participated in the one-to-one interview type of questionnaire, and replied to degree of discomfort at level of items and the reasons of discomfort at level of detailed elements for each product. As a result, almost all age groups answered that using input buttons of mobile phone and remote controller and watching display of mobile phone caused discomfort. Binary logistic regression of the detailed elements showed that response rate of discomfort mostly increased with age, except for specific elements such as shape of mouse and remote controller, and location of function button of mobile phone. Some of the detailed elements had high response rate of discomfort from all age groups. The age groups also showed similar tendency for the elements to select one alternative for the reason of discomfort, but not for sound volume and size of mobile phone and button sensitivity of remote controller. Finally, the universal design factors were extracted for each product based on the results, and divided into common factors and factors classified by the age group. Through this study, we identified using practices of various age groups and their demands for the products. It is expected that extracted detailed elements can be considered as important design factors to design the products universally.

교통사고 조사 및 재현에서 신형 전자식운행기록계의 신뢰성에 관한 연구 (Study on Reliability of New Digital Tachograph for Traffic Accident Investigation and Reconstruction)

  • Recently Digital-TachoGraph(DTG) was mounted mandatorily in commercial vehicles(Taxi, Bus, etc.). DTG records accurate and detailed information of the running state of vehicles related to traffic accident, such as Time, Distance, Velocity, RPM, Brake ON/OFF, GPS, Azimuth, Acceleration. Thus those standardized data can play an important role in traffic accident investigation and reconstruction. To develope the accurate and objective method using the DTG data for the reconstruction of traffic accident, we had conducted several tests such as driving test, high speed circuit test, braking test, slalom test at Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute(KATRI), and collision test at Korea Automobile insurance repair Research and Training center(KART) with the vehicle equipped with several DTG. Development of the program which enables the reading and analysis of the DTG data was followed. In the experiments, we have found velocity error, RPM error, brake signal error and azimuth error in several products, and also non-continuous event data. The cause of these errors was deduced to be related to the correction factor, the durability of electronic parts and the algorithm.

  • 미즈나미 지하처분연구시설 프로젝트는 일본원자력연구개발기구가 결정질암 내의 심부 지하 환경에 관해 종합적으로 연구하는 프로젝트이다. 미즈나미 프로젝트는 3개의 중첩되는 단계로 구성된다: 지표기반 조사단계 (단계 1), 건설단계 (단계 2), 운영단계 (단계 3)의 총 20년. 미즈나미 프로젝트의 1단계에서 3단계까지의 전체 목표는 1) 심부지질환경을 조사, 분석, 평가하기 위한 기술 정립, 2) 심부 지하 활용을 위한 일련의 공학적 기술 개발이다. 전체 목표 1을 달성하기 위하여, 1단계 목표를 굴착 전에 지질환경을 모사하고 굴착거동을 예측하는 모든 지표기반 조사결과로부터 지질환경 모델을 구축하는 것으로 설정하였다. 전체 목표 2를 달성하기 위하여, 2단계 목표는 지하시설을 위한 상세 설계 개념과 건설 계획을 수립하는 것으로 설정하였다. 본 논문은 결정질암내 지하수의 수리지화학적 특성을 조사하고 평가하기 위한 지질통합적 방법을 소개한다.

CFD 시뮬레이션을 활용한 화학물질 누출사고 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Chemical Leakage Accidents Using CFD Simulation)

  • Objectives: Chemical accidents cause extensive human and environmental damage. Therefore, it is important to prepare measures to prevent their recurrence and minimize future damage through accident investigation. To this end, it is necessary to identify the accident occurrence process and analyze the extent of damage. In this study, the development process and damage range of actual chemical leakage accidents were analyzed using CFD. Methods: For application to actual chemical leakage accidents using FLACS codes specialized for chemical dispersion simulation among CFD codes, release rate calculation and 3D geometry were created, and scenarios for simulation were derived. Results: The development process of the accident and the dispersion behavior of materials were analyzed considering the influencing factors at the time of the accident. In addition, to confirm the validity of the results, we compared the results of the actual damage impact investigation and the simulation analysis results. As a result, both showed similar damage impact ranges. Conclusions: The FLACS code allows the detailed analysis of the simulated dispersion process and concentration of substances similar to real ones. Therefore, it is judged that the analysis method using CFD simulation can be usefully applied as a chemical accident investigation technique.

현장실무자용 암반사면 위험도평가법 개발 (Development of Practical Rock Slope Hazard Evaluation Method)

  • 산악지형이 우세한 강원도 지역 내 도로 및 철도 노선에는 수많은 암반 절개 사면들이 존재하며 이들 사면들은 각각 담당 기관별로 유지관리되고 있다. 사면의 위험도를 평가할 때 모든 암반사면에 대한 정밀조사를 수행하기에는 전문 인력과 예산 면에서 거의 불가능하다. 이러한 암반사면의 효율적 관리를 위해서는 1단계로 현장 실무자가 암반사면의 위험도를 개략적으로 평가하여 암반사면의 기본적인 정보를 관리하는 한편, 이를 바탕으로 위험사면을 선정하여 전문가에 의해 후속 정밀조사를 실시하도록 하는 2단계 평가가 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 기존 문헌 조사 및 전문가에 의한 정밀현장조사와 분석을 통하여 현장실무자가 손쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 단순화된 암반사면위험도평가법을 개발하였으며 전문가에 의한 현장적용을 통해 타당성을 검토하였다. 개발된 KSMR은 적은 평가항목에도 불구하고 SMR을 대체할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 KSMR에 의한 평가시 사면높이를 고려한 결과 전문가에 의한 위험도평가등급과의 오차가 약간 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

시공 중 비탈면의 붕괴 특성에 대한 충청지역 사례연구 (A Case Study on Collapse Characteristics of Slope during Construction in the Chung-Cheong Area)

  • 비탈면 붕괴와 관련된 대부분의 연구는 안정화되어 공용 중인 사면에서 발생되는 붕괴사례를 중심으로 이루어져 왔으며, 안정화가 이루어지지 않은 시공 중에 발생되는 비탈면의 붕괴특성에 대한 연구는 많지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 충청지역을 대상으로 시공 중 또는 시공 직후의 비탈면에서 붕괴가 발생된 79개소를 대상으로 정밀조사를 수행하고 그 결과를 통해 기하학적인 특성과 파괴특성, 설계 및 보강방법 등의 특성을 평가하였다. 분석결과 충북권은 평면형 붕괴와 표층 붕락이 두드러지며, 충남권은 평면형 붕괴가 대다수이나 충북권에 비해 퇴적암의 표층부 붕락이나 유실이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한 주된 파괴인자는 충북권이 절리의 교호(53%)와 풍화(25%)로 나타났고 다방향 절리로 인한 블록화와 천매암 지역의 엽리가 영향을 미치고 있으며, 충남권도 발달된 절리(55%)가 주요요인이나 단층, 탄질셰일 등 퇴적암의 지질학적 성인(36%)도 상당한 영향을 미치고 있어 지질학적, 기후적, 환경적 특성이 비탈면의 안정에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

온라인 연속간행자료수집 및 보존에 관한 연구 (An Investigation on the Acquisition and Preservation of Online Serials)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 온라인으로만 발행되는 연속간행자료의 수집 및 보존에 대한 운영모형을 개발하기 위한 것이다. 공공기관, 단체, 연구기관의 전문가로 패널을 구성하여 델파이 조사를 실시하여 온라인 연속간행자료 보존에 따른 운영 모형 개발에 필요한 68개 세부항목을 도출하였으며, 적합성 및 시급성을 조사 분석하여 적합성 분석에 최종 선정된 57개 세부항목을 제시하였다. 온라인 연속간행자료의 수집을 위하여 RSS 기술을 이용한 콘텐츠의 자동수집방안을 제시하고, 온라인 연속간행자료에 맞는 수집 및 보존 프로세스를 설계하였다.

일제강점기 이후 석탑(石塔) 조사연구사 (A Study on the Research History of Stone Pagoda after Japanese Colonial)

  • This study aims to investigate the changing aspects about research methodology of stone pagoda from the period of Japanese colonial to now. There were the differences in purpose, method and analysis of the research according to each period. In Japanese colonial period, the purpose of research was to make lists of almost stone pagodas in Korea. Following this, Japanese researchers conducted detailed research for academic purpose. They took measurements of stone pagodas and made drawings. After liberation the research was focused on the relics contained in pagodas. They proceeded to investigate the inner relics in order to attract the attention of the people. In the late 1900's, the repair works of cultural heritages were increased. Many reports of the repair works were released and sent to administration offices. The reports contained the change aspects of situation between before work and after with drawings or simple investigation documents. In the 1990's, the restoration works for important stone pagodas were started by the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage. Since then, researches from various way - architectural and conservational researches about historical interpretation, shape, structure, proportion, technique, etc. - progressed for careful restoration and accurate study. In Recent years, various professional organizations(in the field of structure, physics, chemistry, biology, lithology, etc.) started to join the researches. Researches conducted studies directly with the stone pagodas, as well as conducting indirect studies with the stone pagodas, such as the structural stability of stone pagodas, the characteristics of rock, and conservation chemicals. Today the research project 'The preservation project of stone cultural property' is being conducted by the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage. The purpose of this project is to gain more detailed and accurate investigation documents to be provided for the people. In conclusion, researches from various fields must be included in the research. Furthermore, a synthetic study should be done through comparing similar characteristics or different characteristics among many research results.

The July 2, 2017, Lantian landslide in Leibo, China: mechanisms and mitigation measures

  • Landslides triggered by the combination of heavy precipitation and anthropological disturbance in hilly areas cause severe damage to human lives, properties, and infrastructure constructions. A comprehensive investigation of the influencing factors and failure mechanisms of landslides are significant for disaster mitigation and prevention. This paper utilized the combination of detailed geological investigation, physical experimental testing as well as numerical modelling to determine the failure mechanism, and proposed a countermeasures of the Lantian landslide occurred on 2, July 2017. The results reveal that the Lantian landslide is a catastrophic reactivated slide which occurred in an active tectonic region in Southwest China. Because of the unique geological settings, the fully to highly weathered basalts in the study area with well-developed fractures favored the rainwater infiltration, which is the beneficial to slide reactivation. Engineering excavation and heavy precipitation are the main triggering factors to activate the slide motion. Two failure stages have been identified in the landslide. The first phase involves a shallow mass collapse originated at the upper slopes, which extends from the road to platform at rear part, which is triggered by excavation in the landslide region. Subjected to the following prolonged rainfall from 19 June to 2 July, 2017, the pore water pressure of the slope continually increased, and the groundwater table successively rise, resulting in a significant decrease of soil strength which leads to successive large-scale deep slide. Thereinto, the shallow collapse played a significant role in the formation of the deep slide. Based on the formation mechanisms of the landslide, detailed engineering mitigation measures, involving slope cutting, anchor cable frame, shotcrete and anchorage, retaining wall and intercepting ditch were suggested to reduce the future failure risk of the landslide.

Implementation Strategy for the Numerical Efficiency Improvement of the Multiscale Interpolation Wavelet-Galerkin Method

  • The multi scale wavelet-Galerkin method implemented in an adaptive manner has an advantage of obtaining accurate solutions with a substantially reduced number of interpolation points. The method is becoming popular, but its numerical efficiency still needs improvement. The objectives of this investigation are to present a new numerical scheme to improve the performance of the multi scale adaptive wavelet-Galerkin method and to give detailed implementation procedure. Specifically, the subdomain technique suitable for multiscale methods is developed and implemented. When the standard wavelet-Galerkin method is implemented without domain subdivision, the interaction between very long scale wavelets and very short scale wavelets leads to a poorly-sparse system matrix, which considerably worsens numerical efficiency for large-sized problems. The performance of the developed strategy is checked in terms of numerical costs such as the CPU time and memory size. Since the detailed implementation procedure including preprocessing and stiffness matrix construction is given, researchers having experiences in standard finite element implementation may be able to extend the multi scale method further or utilize some features of the multiscale method in their own applications.
