Geological heritages can be defined conveniently as geological records worthy of conservation, and are represented in most cases by geological outcrops. So survey and evaluation of geologic outcrops are necessary for better conservation of geological heritages. As a measure to prevent potential destruction of geological heritages from various development projects, I propose construction of database based on survey and evaluation forms of geological outcrop, which can also be used for environmental impact assessment. The geological survey form consists of survey area, category, subcategory, location, dimension, geologic features, photo, description, and investigator. The evaluation form consists of evaluation category, detailed evaluation, comprehensive evaluation, and evaluation grade. The evaluation category is divided into academic aspect, education effect and landscape. The detailed evaluation items for academic aspects and education effect are representativeness, rarity, diversity and typicality, while those for geomorphology and landscape are peculiarity, aesthetics and naturalness. The evaluation grades are divided into five, where the first grade means a must of conservation.
This article examines the urban example of Batu Sawar which served as the capital of the Johor kingdom between 1587 and circa 1615. Around the middle of the eighteenth-century European reference works continued to describe Batu Sawar as the capital of Johor, even though the city had long ceased to serve as a trading center, let alone as Johor's capital, and probably no longer existed. Such observations raise the question of urban impermanence-the transience of sizeable settlements with reference to the Malay Archipelago. Two overarching questions form the backbone of the investigation: First, why did Batu Sawar rise as a regional trading center, and second, what are the reasons that contributed to its decline? Batu Sawar's fate was sealed by a combination of factors that included poor defenses, multiple external shocks, destruction by fire, court politics and rivalry between the early colonial powers.
A human being has been using more and more materials for promotion of its life level year by year. The materials are originated from the Nature. We must think that a human being temporarily borrows them from the Nature. So we should return them in the same form as the origin into the Nature. However, it is impossible because it has been irreversibly changed into different phase. This attributes destruction of the Nature, i.e., pollution of the Nature. For environmental prevention of the Nature from pollution, we should try the entire recycling of materials by returning the used materials in the safe from even if it has a different phase in comparison with the original state. This article proposes the entire recycling of materials lot keeping the EARTH.
Hypereutectic Al-Si alloys have been widely utilized for wear-resistant components in the automotive industry. In order to expand the application of Hypereutectic Al-Si alloys, the addition of alloying elements forming a stable precipitate at high temperature is required. Thermally stable inter metallic compounds can be formed through the addition of transition elements such as Fe, Ni to Al alloys. However, the amount of transition element to be added to Al alloys is limited due to their low solid solubility. Also, hypereutectic Al-Si-Fe alloys form coarse primary Si phases and needle-shaped intermetallic compounds during solidification in the general casting processes. In this study, the effects of the destruction of Intermetallic compound and Si phase are investigated via hot extrusion. Both the microstructure and mechanical properties are discussed under different extrusion conditions.
We show that some network and pom-pom constitutive models are essentially the same. Instead of the usual confrontation, we suggest that the two approaches can offer useful mutual support: vital information about network destruction rates found from detailed pom-pom calculations can be used to improve the network models, while deductions about network creation rates can pinpoint areas needing further attention in the tube modelling area. A new form of the PTT model, the PTT-X model, results in improved shear and elongational flow descriptions, plus an improved recoil behaviour. The remaining problems of strain-time separation, second normal stress difference description, and reduction of parameters are also discussed and some suggestions for progress are offered.
[ $SO_2$ ]and NO gases that come from the flue gases of most of all industrial combustion processes are harmful to everything include person and industrial facilities. For the simplification of the environmental clean-up processes, we studied the decomposition process by microwave. The microwave can destroy molecules into elementary atoms and offers energy to the atoms to react with carbons. Since the microwave is not absorbed into quartz tube and metallic chamber, the air pollution gases can be removed with much lower energy than in the case of conventional methods. We studied the decomposition of $SO_2$ and NO gases on the carbon beds by microwave. In the microwave field, the gases can be decomposed to form other compounds, such as elementary sulfur, nitrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. It was found that CO gas is formed at higher temperature than is $CO_2$ gas, so it needs to control the bed temperature depend on products that we want to get.
There is increasing concern that depletion of the ozone layer may have important health consequences. Each $1\%$ decline in ozone concentration is expected to cause a $2\%$ increase in ultraviolet radiation this in turn has been suggested to lead to up to a $4-6\%$ increase in certain kinds of skin cancer. In Colorado state, malignant melanoma patients increased form 7.4 cases per 100,000 to 12.6 per 100,000 in the general population between 1979 and 1985. In Australia, 4,000 new melanomas are diagnosed each year and 800 people die every year from melanoma. Strong international controls CFCs production are necessary to lower the destruction of ozone in the stratosphere. Only then will the increase in ultraviolet radiation to the skin be halted and the incidence and mortality from melanomas be reduced.
The traditional and still most widely used, test methods for concrete structures are destructive method, such as coring, drilling or otherwise removing part of the structure to permit visual inspection of the interior. While these methods are highly reliable, they are also time consuming and expensive, and the defects they leave behind often become focal point for deterioration. In this study, tomography by theoretical inversion method in case of elastic wave using impact-echo method among concrete non-destruction test method was made. Taken model experiments are theoretical inversion method and time domain and frequency domain test on pier test model at laboratory level. Also experiment concerning frequency domain on 3 kinds of tunnel model with I-dimension form was carried out.
UV-catalytic oxidation technique was applied for the treatment of bio-refractory character of the leachate, which is generally present in the form of adsorbable organic halogens (AOX). Destruction of AOX was likely to be governed by pH adjustment, quantitative measurement of oxidants, and the selection of oxidation model type. Peroxide induced degradation ($UV/H_2O_2$) facilitated the chemical oxidation of organic halides in acidic medium, however, the system showed least AOX removal efficiency than the other two systems. Increased dosage of hydrogen peroxide (from 0.5 time to 1.0 time concentration) even did not contribute to a significant increase in the removal rate of AOX. In ozone induced degradation system ($UV/O_3$), alkaline medium (pH 10) favored the removal of AOX and the removal rate was found 11% higher than the rate at pH 3. Since efficiency of the $UV/O_3$ increases with the increase of pH, therefore, more OH-radicals were available for the destruction of organic halides. UV-light with the combination of both ozone and hydrogen peroxide ($UV/H_2O_2$ 0.5 time/$O_3$ 25 mg/min) showed the highest removal rate of AOX and the removal efficiency was found 26% higher than the removal efficiency of $UV/O_3$. The system $UV/H2O_2/O_3$ got the economic preference over the other two systems since lower dose of hydrogen peroxide and relatively shorter reaction time were found enough to get the highest AOX removal rate.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to redefine imperial cultural properties and pass on and provide the elegant value of imperial cultural properties with the Allen Collection's promotion to retrieve imperial cultural properties. Design/methodology/approach - This study was approached to deal with the essential interpretation of cultural improvement through discussion in the cultural science approach Findings - As a result of examining ways to revitalize tourism resources using Allen Collection, it is necessary to cultivate international manners and knowledge levels in strengthening imperial awareness through the establishment of imperial museums, enacting laws on standards for designation of imperial cultural assets, and promoting them. In addition, policy needs such as the development plan of the imperial cultural festival, re-establishment, application, reuse, re-establishment, and reproduction according to environmental changes, and technical support and monitoring systems for investigating and preserving imperial cultural assets are needed. Research implications or Originality - The study on the device imperial cultural assets as tour resources the cultural assets mate be not only preserved and inherited to the descendant but also useful in contemporary national emotion positively. for we could obtain wide national support and co-operation in the protection work of cultural assets. What makes our cultural assets leaved indifferent before destruction like this most of all, it is form indifference of the people, we must make an effort to meet with recognizing the value of useful cultural assets by mean of utilizing cultural assets as tour resources to inhibit more damage of destruction of cultural assets.
