사출성형제품 부형상의 지적 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Intelligent Supplementary Feature Designer(ISFD) in Injection Molding)

  • The configuration of injection molded part can be classified into primary feature and supplementary feature. Even though supplementary features such as ribs, snap fits and bosses make mold more complicated, which cause the increasement of the mold cost, supplementary features should be attached to primary features because of assembly, reinforcement, moldability and other functional purposes. But it is not easy for novice designers to design them appropriately because of the profound knowledge related to Injection molding. In this paper, the intelligent design tool called ISFD(Intelligent Supplementary Feature Designer) which supplies easy, simple, time and cost-effective design method has been studied and developed. A knowledge-based design system is a new tool which enables the concurrent design and CIM with integrated and balanced design decisions at the initial design stage of injection molding.

  • Current CAD systems are good enough to be used as a tool to manipulate three-dimensional shapes. This is a very important capability to be owned by a design tool because a major portion of designers'activities is spent on the shape manipulation in the design detailing process. However, the whole design process involves a lot more than the, shape manipulation. Currently, these remaining tasks, mostly logical reasoning process for the function realization together with structure decomposition in the top-down manner, are processed in the designer's brain. To support the top-down functional design process of a mechanical product, a system integrating the functional, structural and geometrical aspects of a product design in a unified environment is presented. Using this system, a designer can perform function decomposition, structure decomposition, and geometry detailing, and function verification activities in parallel and the whole design process it modeled resultantly. Once the whole design process is modeled, any redesign task can be automatically performed with the verification of the desired functions.

STEP AP214 자동차 설계 데이터 정리 시스템 (Healing of STEP AP214 Automotive CAD Data)

  • To exchange CAD data between heterogeneous CAD systems, we generally use a neutral format especially STEP, which is the international standard (ISO-10303) for product model data exchange. AP214 (Application Protocol) for the automotive industry not only takes into account geometry and organizational data, but also provides a classification mechanism for product modeling. When reading a STEP file during a design process that is exported from other CAD systems, it is a burden to a designer to go through the tedious process of removing duplicate or non-manifold entities, adjusting parts, and rearranging text. We analyze the structure of AP214 and develop a healing tool to solve the following problem. Without the assembly information in the Master workspace of CATIA, or to read a STEP file from Pro/Engineer, a designer should do a repetitive process of disintegrating an assembly into parts one by one. We have developed a post-processing tool for STEP AP214 that separates out a part from an assembly model and adjusts superfluous or useless entities using the ACIS kernel.

  • The goal of this research is a visual and auditory tool development enabling designers to have the same emotional value with users in the process of user centered design. Through the research, we intend to show the aid measure for making cognitive gaps narrow between users and designer in the process of transforming and understanding the emotional needs as a verbal image. because In the business practice of design, most of tools and techniques for assessment and analysis of emotional needs are those used usually in the marketing fields. So the information generated and transformed from users to designers have a form of physical words. When the designer's understanding of the emotional needs is considered as a product mediated communication process, the morphologic and cognitive information gaps become obvious. This difference could be a false basis in designing with emotional user needs. So the alternative needs assessment sub-tools of visual and auditory information form was embodied mainly for designer's cognitive gaps and inter-cultural emotional needs assessment. As the method of embodiment, Firstly, adjectives related to emotion were classified in their cognitive dimension. Secondly, visual and auditory data were extracted, and then the relativity verified. Finally, the practicality and effectiveness were tested through the database generation. In view of the results so far achieved, 1. We could find being of the big information cognitive gaps in the verbal assessment of emotional needs between designers and users. 2. With the visual and auditory assessment tool, we could make the big cognitive gaps narrower than we expected. 3. Also, we could find the chance that the fidelity, recognition, and friendliness of design for emotional user needs would become better.

  • The digital modeling process is visualization of designer's specific intension in digital virtual space by constructing computer and information system that fits the designer's intension and morphological characteristic of the space that to be modeled. Digital Modeling Process has been brought to attention for it's design efficiency and potentialities as new creative tool. The effect of DMP, in spacial design process has been grown from simply providing a ways to visualize designer's idea toward utilizing modeling data for real construction which includes architectural and constructional material. The purpose of this study is to find optimal methodological answers to spatial design process that is improved and specialized due to rapid improvement of digital media.

And the concept of water as the meaning concept is used as the tool to represent a certain issue in silhouette and fabrics not only the introduction as substantial water into fashion giving the fashion designer's emotion to shape and representing the fashion designer's aesthetic needs by emphasizing with the designer.

  • Application specific instruction-set processor (ASIP) is a suitable design choice for system designers who seek both flexibility to handle various applications in the domain together with the performance. Successful development of an ASIP, however, requires a software development kit (SDK) to be provided along with the processor. Synopsys Processor Designer is an ASIP development tool, which takes as input a set of files written in a high-level architecture description language called LISA (Language for Instruction Set Architecture), and generates SDK as well as RTL. Recently, they have added support for the generation of LLVM compiler backend, though some manual work is required. In this paper, we introduce some details in porting LLVM compiler to a custom processor architecture in Synopsys Processor Designer.

스텔스 게임 레벨 디자인 툴의 개선 (Improving A Stealth Game Level Design Tool)

  • 스텔스 게임 레벨 디자이너는 다양한 난이도의 흥미로운 게임환경(레벨)을 제작해야 한다. J. Temblay와 공동 연구자들은 이 과정의 자동화를 돕는 Unity-기반 레벨 디자인 툴을 개발했다. 이 툴은 디자이너가 지도에서 경비병의 경로, 속도, 감시 영역, 플레이어의 출발점과 도착점 등 여러 게임 요소들을 입력하면 플레이어가 취할 수 있는 가능한 경로들을 포함한 다양한 시뮬레이션 결과들을 보여준다. 이를 이용해 디자이너는 현재의 게임 요소들이 자신이 의도한 난이도 및 플레이어 경로를 만드는지 실시간으로 확인할 수 있고, 필요한 경우 이들을 조정할 수 있게 되었다. 여기서는 두 가지 면에서 이 툴의 개선점을 제시한다. 첫째, 디자이너가 몇 개의 지점을 입력하면 이 지점들을 포함하는 흥미로운 경비병의 감시 경로를 난이도별로 추천해주는 기능을 추가해서 레벨 디자인 툴로서의 편의성과 유용성을 높였다. 둘째, 기존의 충돌 체크 함수 및 RRT-기반 경로 탐색 함수를 새로운 충돌 체크 함수와 델로네 로드맵-기반 경로 탐색 함수로 대체하여 시뮬레이션 속도를 크게 향상시켰다.

3D 게임 제작을 지원하는 저작도구의 개발 (Development of an Authoring Tool for Producing 3D Games)

  • 최근 3D 게임의 개발이 활발해지면서 이를 지원하기 위한 저작도구에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 개발된 3D게임 제작용 저작도구를 소개한다. 개발된 저작도구는 맵 에디터, 사운드 에디터, 데이터 추출기 및 프리퓨어, 특수효과 에디터로 구성되어진다. 게임 디자이너는 본 저작도구를 이용하여 게임 맵, 사운드 및 특수효과 등과 같은 게임 데이터를 효율적으로 제작할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 개발된 저작도구를 활용하여 실험용 컨텐츠를 만들어 저작도구의 유용성을 검증하였다.

사용자의 감성반응에 기초한 형태 분석 도구에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Form Analysis Tools Based on the User's Emotional Response)

  • 최근 사용자 중심의 디자인과 형태개발 및 분석은 성공적 디자인의 중요한 방법론으로 부각되고 있다. 사용자의 형태분석을 위해서는 기존 방법의 통합적인 접근과 더불어 디자이너의 전문도구로서 고찰되고 개발되는 것이 요구된다. 특히 기존의 분석도구들은 디자이너의 요구에 적합할 수 있도록 분석결과의 시각화과 명확한 방향성 제시가 요구되며, 사용자 감성반응을 형태분석에 응용할 수 있는 다각적인 방법의 모색이 요구된다. 또한 분석도구로서의 전문성을 강화하고 디자이너가 손쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 디자이너 친화적 인터페이스의 적용이 필요하다. 본 연구는 사용자 감성반응을 기존의 형태분석 도구에 활용하기 위한 방법과 체계를 분석하며, 이를 통하여 사용자의 감성적 반응에 기초한 형태분석 도구를 제시하였다. 구체적인 형태분석의 도구는 통합적 관리, 변수설정, 분석결과의 시각화, 데이터마이닝을 통한 심층 분석, 사용자 중심 분석결과의 연관성 강화의 5가지 컨셉으로 제시되었으며, 프로젝트 관리, 분석프레임 설정, 데이터 입출력, 기초 분석, 심층분석의 5가지 모듈로서 개발되었다. 제안된 도구는 모바일 폰의 사례조사를 통하여 그 효용성을 알아보았으며, 도구 활용의 사용성과 형태분석의 타당성이 검증되었다.
