This paper presents a streetscape design for the 'Gaeksa-gil', located in Gosa-dong and Jungang-dong, Jeonju City, which length is about 830m and width is about $8\sim10m$. The goals of the design are to make a street on which people want to walk and rest both safely and pleasantly. To achieve these goals; concepts of identity, history, placeness, commercial vitality, environmentally-friendliness, safety, amenity , and democracy have been developed. For the pedestrian safety; shared street concepts, such as crank, salalom, fort, mini-rotary etc. are adopted. For design method, community participatory design is adapted. For the design theme; the axes of Time and Space are developed and streets are divided into 3 thematic spaces, such as 'History Street,' 'Nature Street,' and 'Culture Street.' The History Street, which belongs to Time axis, is a space for experiencing past, present, and future history of Jeonju city. Nature Street, which belongs to Space axis, is a space for feeling and loaming the nature of the city. The Culture Street, which also belongs to Space axis, is a space for experiencing the culture of the city. The community participated in the whole design process through the workshop, the internet website, the street events, etc.
Purpose - The present study aimed to investigate the difference between entity theorists and incremental theorists in the extent of attributing efforts and traits of consumers for the realization of pursued goals. Furthermore, the present study was conducted to determine the difference depending on circumstances. In this regard, the circumstances where consumers felt pride were divided into those in which important goals and ordinary life goals were achieved. Research design, data, and methodology - An empirical study was performed, which was divided into group 1 and 2. Group 1 is the experimental group concerned with the important goal achievement, and group 2 is the control group related to daily ordinary goal achievement. 80 college students were assigned to each group, respectively. The empirical study for each of the two groups was performed respectively by means of questionnaire survey. In the experimental group, t-test was used to verify the hypotheses for the empirical study. In the circumstances of the control group, t-test was also used to examine whether the results were same as those shown from the analysis of experimental group data or not. Results - According to the group 1 and 2, the t-test of the empirical study showed that entity theorists tended to attribute the achievements of goals to their traits more than incremental theorists did, whereas the incremental theorists tended to attribute achievements of goals to their efforts more than entity theorists did in the important goals-achieved circumstance. In the circumstance of daily life goals-achieved, additional questionnaire survey and analysis were conducted, however, there was no difference between incremental and entity theorists in regard to attributing realization of goals to their efforts, and it leads to assess the difference in the meaning of invested efforts between important goal and ordinary goal achievement. Conclusions - Considering that the feeling of consumers has been regarded as one of the significant factors in marketing mix management, the results of this study are considered as significant implications for management. The implications can be said that when incremental consumers feel authentic pride in the important goals-achieved circumstance, marketers are requested to emphasize the fact that the efforts of consumers have contributed to realization of the important goals. By contrast, when consumers feel hubristic pride in both circumstances, marketers are requested to approach to entity-oriented consumers by way of trait. Authentic and hubristic pride are pervasive and engendered by important events or daily routines, and they could have effect on delaying making decisions. Therefore, it is necessary for future research to examine the unexplored difference of effect between incidental authentic and hubristic pride on consumer's self-control. In particular, future researches are related to the extent of difference in attributing efforts and traits. The consumers'realization for the previously pursued goals between entity theorists and incremental theorists affects their present or long distant decisions in self-control dilemmas. The consumers are faced with choosing one between virtuous long term- related option and vice immediate option.
We consider a problem of intelligent Integration Information system for research ship, and propose a design as one effective solution of the problem. The goals of the proposed design and system are as follows: management of engine, management of ship, researcher's work, education, training, manage schedule of the project, and thus to manage the whole life cycle of the research ship project. The support structure of an optical mirror system is the one of the important design elements because the one affects the optical aberrations of the mirror surface. In this paper, Lagrange equation of the moving body of the fast steering mirror system(FSM) has been formulated to use with optimization design. Major goals for optimization are to assign the reasonably flexible stiffness to the structure and to enhance the first natural frequency of the mirror and support system in aid of more affordable control bandwidth for the FSM. Pursuing these purposes with the proposed method, the finite element analysis(FEA), optimization technique and the Zernike polynomial estimation are used for the design effects. It is concluded that the proposed approach for design well guides toward the desired design goals with regards to both structural and optical performances.

This study aims to provide lesson plans that can simultaneously achieve both the learning goals of the 'Human Development & Family' domain of the 2015 revised Technology & Home Economics curriculum and the Sustainable Development Goals. Four steps including analysis, design, development, and evaluation and revision were followed. In the analysis step, the 'Changing Families and Healthy Families' unit was selected as it is relevant to the nine subgoals of the SDGs. In the design step, three sessions were planned with a problem-solving project approach. In the development step, three lesson plans for each session, individual and group activity worksheets for students, and guidelines for teachers were constructed. In the evaluation and revision step, criteria for evaluating the lesson plans were developed reflecting both the goals of the Home Economic curriculum and the SDGs. The validity of the lesson plans was reviewed by a panel of experts. Then, the revised lesson plans were finalized. This study provides an illustrative example of the lesson plans in the secondary education context that can be used to achieve the learning goals of the Home Economic curriculum and the Sustainable Development Goals at the same time.
Due to the fashion industry taking responsibility for their garment manufacturing, a significant number of UK universities are focusing on combining sustainability in their curriculum to support future employees' skills and knowledge in sustainable fashion. A proper understanding of educational and instructional theories is needed to develop effective teaching and learning materials and environments. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the Fashion Design module created with consideration of sustainability using ADDIE instructional model. For evaluation, the teaching materials, including the module brief and the PowerPoint slides for each session, were used. Ten students were interviewed and observed along with two tutors, also interviewed to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the module from a variety of viewpoints. With sustainable fashion being embedded into specialized higher education courses, tutors decided to incorporate sustainability into the module as an introduction to this topical subject in order to build a stronger foundation of knowledge and challenge traditional ways of working. Results showed that combining sustainability into the design and technical sessions had a positive influence on students who built upon their existing knowledge. Tutors researched the need for change within the industry in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and aligned the content to inform the students of the current crisis. This study could provide a guideline to create instructional material for sustainable fashion design courses.
This study was conducted by the questionnaires to 323 undergraduate students in fashion related departments. Questionnaires were designed to ask total 23 questions including possibility of halfway dropouts, establishment of goals, self-improvement, entrance motives, satisfaction ratings of academic subjects, job prospects and path planning, amelioration of ways to instruct, desires for the integrated lessons and intense academic courses, wishes of field project education carrying out tasks, desired lecturers, and others. Results in this research were summarized as follows. To begin with, it was appeared that respondents with possibility of halfway dropouts showed considerable percentage (25.4%) and the reasons left out were various including joining the army, the poor economic conditions in family, a major not corresponding with one's aptitude. Secondly, in the extent of establishing goals and improving oneself, there was the difference between people with possibility of halfway dropouts and people without that, and it was judged that the extent of establishing goals and improving oneself as good parameters could explain halfway omission. Thirdly, the ways to teach for getting classes interesting were to make instruction according to one's capabilities, to progress systematically, and to take lessons with specific goals. Fourth, many respondents answered to want the integrated lessons, intense academic courses, and field project education carrying out tasks. Fifth, an overwhelming majority of respondents hoped instructors with a outstanding ability in business. For improvement of the ways to instruct and the role of professors, it is suggested as follows. First, students are given intelligible lessons focused on fundamental subjects fitted to their levels and also need gradual intense academic courses classified by their way directions and interests. Second, creative and individualized teaching methods depending on the majors and levels are developed to help students have strong interest in schoolwork. Third, professors are constantly to learn practical techniques and skills related to industries in step with the education goals of college. Fourth, it is desirable to adopt instructors with practical business talents rather than theoretical capabilities.
Objective: Setting therapeutic goals assist to identify patient priorities and predict problem that may arise in performing daily and functional activities. Goal setting is associated with improved rehabilitation outcomes in individuals with hemiparetic stroke. This study was conducted to assess the effects of having awareness and satisfaction of goals on the functional status of individuals with hemiparetic stroke. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Eighty-one people who had been diagnosed with stroke participated in this study. The study was conducted through a face-to-face surveys to identify participants' awareness and satisfaction of goals and standard assessment tools were used to evaluate patients' functional status. This study measured functional status through three clinical measures including the manual function test (MFT), Berg Balance scale (BBS), and modified Barthel index (MBI). Results: In participants with hemiparetic stroke, the MBI, BBS, and MFT scores were significantly higher in the participants who were aware of the therapeutic goal than in those who were unaware (p<0.05). The MBI, BBS, and MFT scores were not significant between the participants who were satisfied with the goal and those who were unsatisfied. Conclusions: This study suggests that having awareness in therapeutic goal-setting could lead to improvement of functional status in those with hemiparetic stroke. This study highlights how goal-setting can have a positive effect on persons with hemiparetic stroke.
Purpose: The objective of the study is to examine the role of approval goals, subjective norm, internal motivation, external motivation, attitude towards behavior, and perceived behavioral control on retail consumer's intention to consume fortified food in Pakistan. Research design, data, and methodology: The study was quantitative in nature. That is why the data were collected from 384 respondents approaching retail stores of Lahore, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad using mall intercept survey. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze the data. Results: The results show that approval goals significantly influence subjective norms. Secondly, subjective norms positively influence internal and external motivation. Thirdly, attitude towards behavior and internal motivation significantly impacted on intention. However, the findings of the study show, non-significant relationship of external motivation and perceived behavioral control with intention to consume fortified food. Conclusion: Theory of reasoned goal pursuit was used to investigate consumer intention to consume fortified food in Pakistan. This study is helpful for the marketers to create a word-of-mouth strategy to enhance positive word of mouth for the company, which ultimately beneficial to develop the distribution strategy of the firm. Fortified food is full of health enriched ingredients which is beneficial for society at large.
Parametric design systems serve as powerful assistive tools in the design process by providing a flexible approach for the generation of a vast number of design alternatives. However, contemporary parametric design systems focus primarily on low-level engineering and structural forms, without an explicit means to also take into account high-level, cognitively motivated people-centred design goals. We present a precedent-based parametric design method that integrates people-centred design "precedents" rooted in empirical evidence directly within state of the art parametric design systems. As a use-case, we illustrate the general method in the context of an empirical study focusing on the multi-modal analysis of wayfinding behaviour in two large-scale healthcare environments. With this use-case, we demonstrate the manner in which: (1). a range of empirically established design precedents -e.g., pertaining to visibility and navigation- may be articulated as design constraints to be embedded directly within state of the art parametric design tools (e.g., Grasshopper); and (2). embedded design precedents lead to the (parametric) generation of a number of morphologies that satisfy people-centred design criteria (in this case, pertaining to wayfinding). Our research presents an exemplar for the integration of cognitively motivated design goals with parametric design-space exploration methods. We posit that this opens-up a range of technological challenges for the engineering and development of next-generation computer aided architecture design systems.
