  • A Seismic retrofit idea based on a first principle is proposed for existing RC walls under various level of axial loading. In application of the proposed retrofit method, designers can choose the size and shape of boundary elements of wall sections for a required level of ductility. For this axial load ratio, steel ratio, and strength of concrete and steel are considered as design parameters. In order to show the usage of the idea, several design charts are presented with an application example.

수소저장시설의 폭발에 대한 인접 구조물의 손상도 평가 (Damage Evaluation of Adjacent Structures for Detonation of Hydrogen Storage Facilities)

  • 본 연구에서는 수소저장시설의 폭발에 대한 시설물의 안전성 평가를 위하여 수소 폭발에 의한 발생된 충격파의 효과와 그에 따른 구조물의 손상도 평가에 대한 해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 수소저장시설의 폭발효과에 미치는 주요 설계변수로 수소저장시설의 부피(10~50,000 L), 잔존용량(SOC, 50% 및 100%) 및 초기 압력(50 MPa 및 100 MPa)을 고려하여 폭발 시나리오를 수립하였다. 수소폭발효과를 도출하기 위하여 수소의 기계적 에너지와 화학적 에너지를 고려한 TNT 등가량 산정방법을 활용하였다. 환산된 TNT 등가량에 대하여 기존 UFC 3-340-02의 Kingery-Bulmash 폭발하중 설계차트를 개선한 평가식을 적용하여 수소 폭발 모델을 제안하였다. 수소 폭발 모델은 거리별 압력과 충격량에 대하여 지난 수소 탱크의 폭발실험 결과와 비교하여 검증되었다. 검증된 수소폭발 모델을 활용하여 시나리오에 따른 변수해석을 수행하였으며 폭발 중심으로부터의 이격거리에 따른 압력과 충격량에 대한 설계차트를 제시하였다. 더욱이 이 압력과 충격량 설계차트와 압력-충격량(PI) 다이어그램을 활용하여 압력과 충격량의 수준에 따른 구조물의 미세손상, 주요부재손상 및 부분 붕괴의 3단계 손상도와 이격거리에 따른 설계차트를 제안하였다.

타구치 로버스트 계획에서 응용모형의 개발 (Development of Application Models Based on the Robust Design)

  • This study develops three new models that are practically applicable to three stages of Taguchi's robust design, which includes system design, parameter design and tolerance design. In system design, the Multiple Loss Function Analysis(MLFA) and Overall Loss Index(OLI) which reflect upon weight of characteristics and importance of specification are developed. Moreover parameter design presents Process Capability Index(PCI), $C_{PUK}$ and $C_{PLK}$, in order to segregate Signal-To-Noise Ratio(SNR) into accuracy and precision for an evaluation of relative comparison. In addition, tolerance design presents the new model of allowance computation for assembled product which is primarily derived from safety margin(SM) considering functional limit and specification. The guideline of those three new models, which include systematic charts and applicable illustrations, offers convenience for practitioners in the field. Hence, the practical applications could be made with the steps of robust designs such as system design, parameter design and specification allowance design.

Development of a safe operation capability chart as the design basis of a rudder area

  • Ship owners now demand a new design approach for the rudder that considers detailed design information such as maneuverability and environmental loads etc. on a quantified basis. In this paper, we developed the concept of a safe operation capability chart for the design of a rudder area. The chart can be used as the basis of design considering the maneuverability and environmental loads. To confirm the applicability of the safe operation capability chart for use as the basis of design, four different rudders are assumed in this work. First, it is determined whether or not it is appropriate to design a rudder by applying a conventional design approach based on IMO maneuvering tests. The proposed concept is reviewed for use as the basis of the design by investigating the effect of rudder area on capability charts that are plotted according to the rudder under various environmental conditions.

  • 최근 들어 강구조 공장건축은 상당부분 P.E.B.시스템으로 지어지고 있으나 관련기술이 대부분 외국에서 수입된 것으로 전용프로그램(예, MBS, LTI 등)에만 의존하고 있고 국내의 설계지침이 없어서 AISC-ASD에 의해 설계하고 있다. 또한 P.E.B.골조의 구조적 거동을 검토한 연구 및 H형강을 이용한 요소기술 개발이 부족한 실정에 있다 특히, 기둥-보(rafter) 접합부는 Extended type end plate에 의한 접합에만 의존하여 과다설계의 경향이 있으므로. 접합부에 대한 구조적 검토가 필요하다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 P.E.B.시스템 공장건물에서 H형강-보(rafter)의 접합부(Extended/Flush type)의 구조성능을 실험적으로 평가하여 구조적, 경제적으로 우수한 P.E.B. 시스템 골조의 설계를 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, the membrane and buckling analysis of beams with various shaped brackets is performed by using the finite element method. From the viewpoint of minimum structural weight, a optimum design method to determine the optimal shapes and scantling of brackets under design load is proposed by investigating the effects of beam depth, bracket length and aspect ratio on the structural weight. Also optimal design data and charts for the brackets to support transverse girders or web frames of actual ships are provided. By the present design method, it is possible to perform optimum design of brackets used in actual ships, which could result in considerable reduction of structural weight or cost, increase of dead weight and service speed of ships.

샘플링오차에 의한 품질통계 모형의 해석 (Interpretation of Quality Statistics Using Sampling Error)

  • The research interprets the principles of sampling error design for quality statistics models such as hypothesis test, interval estimation, control charts and acceptance sampling. Introducing the proper discussions of the design of significance level according to the use of hypothesis test, then it presents two methods to interpret significance by Neyman-Pearson and Fisher. Second point of the study proposes the design of confidence level for interval estimation by Bayesian confidence set, frequentist confidential set and fiducial interval. Third, the content also indicates the design of type I error and type II error considering both productivity and customer claim for control chart. Finally, the study reflects the design of producer's risk with operating charistictics curve, screening and switch rules for the purpose of purchasing and subcontraction.

Incorporating nonstructural finish effects and construction quality in a performance-based framework for wood shearwall design

  • This paper presents results from a study to extend a performance-based shearwall selection procedure to take into account the contributions of nonstructural finish materials (such as stucco and gypsum wallboard), construction quality issues, and their effects on the displacement performance of engineered wood shearwalls subject to seismic loading. Shearwall performance is evaluated in terms of peak displacements under seismic loading (characterized by a suite of ordinary ground motion records) considering different combinations of performance levels (drift limits) and seismic hazard. Shearwalls are analyzed using nonlinear dynamic time-history analysis with global assembly hysteretic parameters determined by fitting to actual shearwall test data. Peak displacement distributions, determined from sets of analyses using each of the ground motion records taken to characterize the seismic hazard, are postprocessed into performance curves, design charts, and fragility curves which can be used for risk-based design and assessment applications.

아스팔트 鋪裝道路의 確率論的 表層設計 (Pobabilistic Design of Asphalt Pavement Surface Courae)

  • A prototype probabilistic approach to thickness design for asphalt pavement surface course was developed using first-order second moment probability model. The tensile strain (load effect) developing at the bottom of surface layer due to the wheel load and the critical strain (resistance) of asphalt concrete were used as random variables for pavement reliability analysis. Based on the parameters for load effect and resistance data collected from reference and field, simulated data were generated by Monte Carlo method for reliability evaluation of the pavement for a typical rural highway. Thickness of pavement surface course was defined in terms of target reliability of the pavement, growth factor of traffic, design life of pavement and resistance of the asphalt concrete to be placed on the pavement. According to these rationales, prototype thickness design chrats were sugested through example studies. From these, similar design charts can be developed for many pavements if appropriate data and target reliability are determined.

VVC 다이오드의 시작연구(II) (Fabrication of silicon Voltage Variable Capacitance Diode-II)

  • 액상과 고상의 불순물원을 사용한 이중확산법을 이용하여 초분수형 p-n 접합 VVC다이오드를 열작하고 그 특성을 측정하였다. 먼저 접합부근의 불순물분포를 지수난수로 근사시키고 여기에서 부터 유도되는 인가전압대 접태용총번계, 접합부에서의 섬계로계강도, 규재주파수 등을 고려하여 WC 다이오드외 새로운 담계수법을 위시하였다. 이 설계도표는 원하는 특성의 VVC다이오드를 번표와에서 나접 설계 할수있으므로 매우 사리하다. VVC다이오드는 2.5ohnm-cm의 n형, 실리콘박편위에 도너불순물 POCl3를 사용하여 선을 확정시키고, 다시 억셉터 불순물 BN을 사용하여 붕소를 확산시켜서, 접합깊이 2미크론에 초단계형접합을 만드므로서 제작하였다. 본연구에서 텔레비젼 수상기튜너용으로 시작한 다이오드의 최대용량대 총소용량의 비는 4:1이였고 그외의 전기적 제 특성도 이론적으로 설계한 값들과 거의 합치된 결과를 얻었다. 한편 이때의 실리콘 박편의 제작법과 확산기술에 관하여 간단히 기술하였다.
