Development of Design Catalogue to Reduce the Design Period for Recycling (리사이클링 고려 설계시간 단축을 위한 설계카탈로그의 개발)

  • Today the tastes of consumers change rapidly and the kinds of the products become diverse. There- fore the product life cycle becomes shorter and shorter. Moreover the save of resources and the recycling for the environmental preservation are the essential theme. On this the necessary information for the product development increases enormously. For the right use of the information the design process should be supported by the proper design tool. For this the 'design catalogue system for recycling' is suggested here. This system consists of four parts. that is, 'the existing automobile system database', 'welting principle database', 'Assessment system of the ease of disassembly' and 'one's own product development ratabase'. By the use of this system the product development period could be reduced about 30% drastically.

  • The world faces a legacy of serious environmental problems such as exhaustion of natural resources and lack of landfill sites. To address these problems, recycling of materials and products has been proposed, but at present, it is realized only within a few fields. This is because most industrial products consist of various components made of different materials and their recycling are based on the assumption that they can be separated and classified easily, the actual situation however cannot satisfy this assumption. The issue in recycling the components and wastes of used cars, in turn, gives rise to emphasis on the disassembly process. For the efficient disassembly, the component materials and their easy separation as well as the recyclability must be taken into account as early as in the design process. It should be developed an almost perfect design catalogue with existing technologies by analyzing design characteristics, manufacturing, assembly and disassembly processes for major parts and components of automobiles in terms of existing and newly proposed recycling technologies. Also it is essential to provide more technical know-how and application methods that may be helpful to utilize different components and component groups.

  • Due to an increase of the importance of E-catalogue on electronic commerce, E-catalogue systems have been prevailing for their production and efficient management around Web environment. In this study, we categorize service factors off-catalogue systems into three aspects contents-providing, user participation, and system management, and we measure their impacts on user satisfaction. The results of the study show that richness, design, trust, interaction, function of transaction management, system extensibility, system stability, and security have been found out to be significant factors to affect user satisfaction.

  • Outfitting systems in marine vessels have many kinds of standard parts. Ship CAD system should support the designers with an efficient tool for the modeling of outfitting parts such as pipes and valves. We develop a practical procedure for a part master model that combines ship CAD systems with the industrial standard. Part master or catalogue database of standard equipments is included in the database of ship CAD. The part master makes the associations of three dimensional modeling with the industrial standard. Moreover, it reflects the automatic modeling to maintain attributes that are disclosed in the entity of each part master in order to reduce the modeling time. Entity and attributes of pipe and valves are chosen from JIS(Japanese Industrial Standards) in order to explain the proposed procedure. Suggested procedure explains that three dimensional model of equipment is generated by parsing the pre-defined attributes after the entities of part masters is stored in database.

  • The IHO S-100 is a standard on the universal hydorgraphic data model for supporting information services that integrate various data in maritime and provide proper information for safety of vessels. The S-100 is used to develop S-10x product specifications which are standards on guideline for creation and delivery of specific data set in maritime. The product specification for feature-based data such as ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart) data includes a feature catalogue that describes characteristics of features in that feature-based data. The feature catalogue is developed by domain experts with knowledge on data of the target domain. However, it is not feasible to develop a feature catalogue according to the XML schema by manual. In the IHO TSMAD committee meeting, needs of developing technology on building feature catalogue has been discussed. Therefore, we present a feature catalogue builder that is a GUI(Graphic User Interface) system supporting domain experts to build feature catalogues in XML. The feature catalogue builder is developed to connect with the FCD(Feature Concept Dictionary) register in the IHO(International Hydrographic Organization) GI(Geographic Information) registry. Also, it supports domain experts to select proper feature items based on the relationships between register items.

The Catalogue and Online-Order Apparel Shoppers Impulsive Purchase Orientation and Impulsive Purchase Stimuli (의류 통신판매 이용자의 충동구매 성향과 충동구매 자극)

  • The purposes of this study were to find out the catalogue and online-order apparel shoppers' impulsive purchase orientation and impulsive purchase stimuli. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to women over than 20 years, and collected from middle to the end of November in 2000. Frequencies, percentages, and mean were calculated. One-way ANOVA, chi-square test, factor analysis, and cluster analysis were used, and Duncan's Multiple Range test was followed. 1. Factors of impulsive purchase orientation were relax from negative moods, design property, inducement from neighbors, taste congruence, price property of apparel, positive moods, and loose-control, and were segmented into the low impulsive purchaser, the reasonable purchaser, the fulfilled with positive moods, and the high impulsive purchaser. The factors of impulsive purchase stimuli were apparel property, consumer service, sales promotion on the point of sales, and low price. 2. The low impulsive Purchaser was affected little by impulsive purchase stimuli, spent a little money on apparel, and the married with high education level were the most. The reasonable purchaser was affected by sales promotion on the point of sales or low price, spent a little money on apparel, and students or house-wives were the most The fulfilled with positive moods was affected by low price, and students or career women with high education level were the most, but spent less money on apparel. The high impulsive purchaser was affected by various impulsive purchase stimuli, the young unmarried with high education level were the most, and spent more money on apparel. 3. The younger, the unmarried, students or career women, and shoppers with higher income or apparel expenditure showed a higher impulsive purchase tendency for relax from negative mood, design property, for inducement from neighbor, taste congruence, and positive moods. 4. The older, the married, house wives, and shoppers with higher apparel expenditure were stimulated by apparel property or consumer services.
