안전한 제품을 설계하기 위한 새로운 제품위험분석 방법 (A New Approach to Product Risk Analysis for Safe Product Design)

  • Today we are observing a lot of injuries, casualties, and property losses that are mainly caused by the defects of products. In order to derive safety designs, which minimize the possibility of such product liability-related accidents, we need to take into account the user-product interaction as an important part of the danger factor analysis. Existing risk analysis techniques, however, have some limitations in detecting comprehensive danger factors that are peculiarly involved in human errors and the functional defects of products. Researches on danger factor analysis regarding the user-product interaction have been carried out actively in ergonomics. In this paper, we suggest a novel product risk analysis technique, which is more objective and systematic compared to the previous ones, by combining a modified TAFEI (Task Analysis For Error Identification) technique with SASA (Systematic Approach to Accident Scenario Analysis) technique. By applying this technique to the product design practice in industry, corporations will be able to improve the product safety, consequently strengthening the competitiveness.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse consumer injury and to find current status of industrial consumer injury in the field of consumer product. Also the subject under analysis is to develop a design guidance for the consumer product safety. we used consulting data of Korea Consumer Protection Board, Korea Product Liability Consulting Center and referred to statistic data of Korea National Statistical Office. Consumer injury data of Korea is insufficient comparing with leading industrialized nations. Therefore, we categorized hazard factors based on current injury data in Korea instead of analysing injury data statistically. And we analyse the hazard factors using the analytic hierarchy process in this study. Through the results, we defined the Consumer Injury Index(CII) to develop a design guidance for the consumer product safety.

  • It is important to manage quality and safety of a product for coping with fast-paced world effectively. This paper demonstrates an integrated model between ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Product Safety Management System. And the paper presents a method which decides key performance indicators (KPI) to be concentrated on the effectiveness of system operation. A case study shows an process for industry to implement the developed methodology.

Development of Market Distribution through Digital Marketing Transformation Trends to Maximize Sales Turnover for Traditional Beverage Products

  • Purpose: The research aims to investigate the development of market distribution through digital marketing transformation trends with the support of universities. This development strategy is to maximize sales turnover of limited liability companies' typical traditional beverage products. Research design, data, and methodology: The research design uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data were obtained by participatory observation, in-depth interviews, FGDs, and documentation. Results: The result shows that the partner's traditional product market distribution strategy has been carried out by adopting science and technology and expertise possessed by partner universities. Universities that are Partners have benefited from the implementation of the Independent Campus program. Conclusions: The conclusion from the findings is that business actors must collaborate with universities through the Kedaireka Matchmaking Fund Program. The collaboration will create the right strategy development for the business. The government needs to provide more access to finance in the future. The hope is that the traditional beverage industry and higher education can realize the ease of synergy contributing to national development and the vision of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture's independent campus.

Architects' Perceptions on Identifying Major Risk Factors and Mitigation Measures in Green Building Design :The Case of South Korea

  • Architects are facing increasing risks that result from heightened expectations of benefits and performance when designing green buildings compared to traditional buildings. This study aims to explore the possible risk factors for architects in green building projects in South Korea and assess risk mitigation measures. To attain this goal, 14 risk factors and 12 mitigation measures were determined through an extensive literature review. A questionnaire was administered to architects practicing green building design and criticality index was employed to assess major risk factors and mitigation measures. This study identified 'adoption of new technology and process', 'green building certification results', 'building products and materials', and 'energy saving uncertainty' as the major risk factors of green building projects. Additionally, the questionnaire proposed 'contract indicating each party's role, liability, and limitations clearly', 'utilizing integrated design process', and 'understanding client's goal in green building projects' as the three most effective risk mitigation measures in designing green buildings. There are few studies that focus on architects' perceived risks concerning green building projects; this study contributes to a deeper knowledge and attempts to fill the current literature gap, which would benefit South Korea's green building design practice by aiding in the development of better risk management strategies.

AN ASSESSMENT SYSTEM OF ECO-FRIENDLINESS OF CONSTRUCTED FACILITY IN THE DESIGN PHASE USING VALUE ENGINEERING

  • The new paradigm called 'Low Carbon Green Growth' involved in reducing greenhouse gas is on the rise as a critical issue worldwide. The essential of Kyoto protocol issued in 1997 is to achieve the sustainable economic growth environments by converting existing production system to eco-friendly one. The protocol imposes the liability to reduce greenhouse gas to the countries joined to it. The paradigm is directly involved in the energy consumption and environmental pollution caused by construction activities. Value Engineering which are mainly applied in the design phase in practice is a measure to improve the value of a constructed facility by analyzing and/or appraising the functions and costs of it. However, an appropriate method which assesses eco-friendliness of constructed facility has not been propose by researchers. This paper proposes a method which assesses the performance involved in eco-friendliness of constructed facility using Value Engineering (VE) in the design phase. The method estimates the environmental cost relative to the amounts of energy consumption and environmental pollution occurred over the entire project life cycle. The database called "Life Cycle Inventory DB", which stores information about the amounts of environmental pollution, is used. The algorithm which retrieves the amounts of environmental pollutions from the DB and converts them into environmental costs is developed. The algorithm is implemented into a system which quantifies the eco-friendliness of constructed facility in the design phase using VE.

군용항공기와 결합방지를 위한 개선방안 및 법적 책임관계 연구 (Legal Review of Product Liability of a Defective Aircraft)

  • 현재 공군이 보유하고 있는 군용항공기가 그 설계, 제조, 사용상의 주의사항 경고 누락 등과 같은 제조상의 결함으로 인하여 인적 혹은 물적 피해가 발생한 경우, 그 책임소재를 가려 항공기 제조회사 등 법적 책임이 있는 자에게 최종적 책임을 물어야하고 이러한 점은 당해 제조상의 결함에 추가적인 사고피해로 이어지지 않는 경우에도 마찬가지이다. 또한, 보다 중요한 것은 그와 같은 책임추궁을 하기에 앞서 군용항공기의 부품이나 완성품에 애초부터 하자가 발생하지 않도록 사전에 미리 조치하는 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 현재 실무상 항공기의 제조상 결함에 대한 사전 방지대책이나, 사후의 결함발생에 대한 효과적이고 명확한 대응방안이 체계적으로 제시되지 않고있다. 즉, 현재 군수물자 조달에 관한 일반 실무지침이나 협상의 기준으로 제시되는 계약서 양식 및 관련 법령 및 제도는 군용항공기의 부품적 특성, 구매방식에 따른 협상의 난이 등을 실무적 관점에서 충분히 고려한 것이라고 보기 어렵고 또한, 군용항공기 결함에 대한 책임추궁 법리 연구도 실무장의 요구를 충족시키기에는 다소 부족한 실정이다. 따라서, 군용항공기의 제조상 결함과 관련된 국가의 법적 대응방안을 미리 확보해 놓는 것이 필요한데, 여기서의 법적 대응방안이라는 것은 크게 두 가지로 구분할 수 있다. 그 하나는 군용항공기의 결함이 발생하지 않도록 판매제조업체 선정시 구매방식상의 특성을 고려하여 보다 안정적인 부품 및 완성품을 공급받을 수 있는 법적제도적 방안을 마련하는 한편, 부품에 하자가 발생할 때를 대비하여 계약시에 그 책임을 물을 수 있는 충분한 법적 장치를 설치하는 것이다. 다른 하나는 그 와 같은 노력에도 불구하고 부득이하게 제품에 하자가 발생한 사후에 있어서 책임있는 자에게 법적 책임을 추궁하기 위한 법논리를 탄탄히 갖추는 일일 것이다. 따라서, 이 글을 통해 앞으로 군용항공기를 사전에 계약함에 있어서 구매방식에 따른 문제점을 짚어본 후 그에 대한 법적제도적 개선방안을 모색하고, 또한 항공기의 결함 및 그로 인한 사고 실제로 발생한 경우 이에 대한 분쟁을 처리함에 있어서의 법적 개선점을 찾아보고자 한다. 이렇게 함으로써 장기 방위전략사업 및 대규모 국책사업 성격을 띠는 군용항공기의 구매 시에 제품의 결함율을 감소시켜 국가방위전력을 향상시킴과 동시에 추후 하자발생으로 인한 막대한 국가 및 국민의 인적 물적 손실을 방지하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다고 본다. 이 글에서는 먼저 군용항공기의 구매방식에 따른 제품결함 발생과 관련한 문제점 및 결함발생 방지를 위한 사전 개선방안을 논하고, 결함이 실제 발생한 경우의 제조회사에 대한 정부 및 피해국민의 정당한 책임추궁 방법을 군용항공기의 특성을 고려하여 논의하도록 하겠다.

디자인 프로젝트의 적용과 평가: 재료역학 수업의 사례연구 (Application and evaluation of design projects: A case study in a mechanics of materials course)

  • 이 논문은 펜실베니아 주립대학에서 실시된 수업개선에 관한 것으로 그 내용은 디자인 프로젝트를 재료역학 수업에 응용한 결과이다. 전통적인 강의를 활용한 수업과는 달리 학생들은 기계역학 디자인의 기초와 재료, 표준, 경제적인 요소, 제작상의 특성, 환경문제, 법 및 안전과 관련된 제반 문제들 등이 서로 연관되어 있음을 학습하도록 격려되었다. 협동학습 디자인 프로젝트를 통해 강사들은 학생들이 팀 단위의 의사결정, 평가기준의 설정과 통합, 현실적인 대안의 발견, 현실적인 제한점들에 대한 고려 등의 보다 고차원적인 내용을 학습할 수 있도록 도왔다. 새로운 수업개선이 학생들의 학습에 미친 영향을 알아보기 위해 1998년 가을학기에 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이 설문조사 결과에 따르면 학생들은 재료역학 입문수업에 대해 높은 가치를 부여하였다. 그러나 디자인 프로젝트에 대한 가치점수는 낮게 나타났고 오히려 전통적인 강의에 높은 가치를 부여했다. 더불어 이전 선수과목에서 높은 점수를 받았던 학생들이 디자인 프로젝트에 대해 낮은 가치를 보고했다. 공학교육자들을 위한 시사점과 향후 연구과제에 대한 제

공산품 소비제품의 경고표시가 소비자행동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Warning Labels of Consumption Goods on Consumer Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of warning labels of consumption goods on consumer behavior and the consumers' evaluation in order to suggest a policy of warning labels and the Product Liability Law. The following items which are somewhat risky but are used in everyday the were selected: cup noodles, one-touch can foods, washing machine, microwave range, dry cell, hydro-oxygen detergent, baby-walker, and block-toys. Data were collected from 345 respondents by internet survey with the following results. (1) The average score of the effects of warning labels on consumer behavior was so low that warning labels are not considered effective, especially in block-toys, dry cell, and baby-walker. (2) Consumers' evaluation scores on the character size, design and sticking place of warning labels were very low. Therefore an effort to make warning labels more effective is needed.

  • Opium, morphine and rotated natural and synthetic opiates have been used since antiquity, and to the present, for the relief of moderate and severe pain. Morphine and pharmacologically related drugs, however, produced an array of undesired or dangerous side effect that limit their use as analgesics. Prominent among the limiting side effects are constipation, respiratory depression, release of prolactin, and liability for the production of drug dependence. It was our aim to develop, if possible, a drug or class of drugs with analgesic activity similar to that of morphine, but without the serious side effects associated with morphine. Our overall strategy was to take advantage of advancing knowledge concerning multiple types of opioid receptors, to develop ligands selective for the delta type receptors, to determine whether delta receptor agonists offer advantages over mu agonists, then to design compounds with pharmacokinetic properties compatible with practical therapeutic application. All but the last of these objectives have been realized.
