보행보조차의 인체측정학적 분석 및 사용성 평가를 통한 디자인 개선 (Anthropometric Analysis and Usability Evaluation of Four-wheeled Walker)

  • In this study, anthropometric analysis and usability evaluation for four-wheeled walker were carried out and then ergonomics design guidelines were proposed. In anthropometric analysis, design factors of four-wheeled walker were firstly identified and anthropometric design guidelines were made using Korean human scales. Design suitability for two typical four-wheeled walkers was analyzed in based on anthropometric design guidelines. Usability evaluation for two typical walkers was also performed through observation method and expert evaluation. Several usability problems were identified and design solutions were proposed for the design improvement of four-wheeled walker. Finally a design model of four wheeled walker considering analysis results was proposed.

  • 다차원적이며 다속 성을 지니는 디자인 대상에 대하여 통합적으로 자료처리가 진행되고, 가시적인 운용이 더해짐으로서 디자인 과정은 보다 효율적이며, 효과적으로 처리되어 궁긍 적으로 시장경쟁을 가지게 되는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 디자인 제의(컨셉트)의 각 단계와 세부 디자인 완료 후 최종 디자인 결과의 평가를 C/S의 컴퓨팅 환경 아래, 효율적으로 접근시키는데 있으며, 특히 선행연구인 디자인 평가의 방법별 비교연구 결과를 바탕으로 컴퓨터 어플리케이션을 연구/개발하여 실제적인 디자인 평가의 실행기반을 조성하는데 연구의 기본 목적을 둔다. 평가 법 특성 정도에서 평가 법(Ⅹ)는 신속성, 평가 법(Y)는 신뢰성, 평가 법(Z)는 중요성을 두드러지게 보이고 있는 점 또한 이에 대한 주관적인 조사와도 대체로 일치되고 있다. 평가방법 별 상관관계 분석에서는 1차 연구에서 보다 강한 상관계수를 보여 영가 설(nullhypothesis)이 부정되고 연구가설(research hypothesis)이 채택되어 평가 법 간의 정적인 상관관계(positive relation)가 있다고 보여 진다.

  • There are two kinds of the design criteria of piping system in petrochemical plant design. The first is on static state evaluation by thermal growth and the other is on dynamic evaluation by piping vibration. In the static design evaluation, the ASME B31.3 code defines 7000 cycles of fatigue life in operating the piping system with design condition. However, the dynamic design evaluation in comparative with small displacements of high frequencies to static condition has not established clearly the method, yet. So, this study purposes to present the trial of a proposal of dynamic design criterion on the basis of static design method.

  • The design functionality put forward by mapping the interactiveness of information. The presentation of such information with the user interface model indicates that the guidelines, concepts, and workflows form the deliverables and milestones for achieving a visualized design, therefore forming the right trend is significant to ensure compliance in terms of changing consideration and applying evaluation in the early stages. It is evidenced that prototype design is guided by improvement specifications, includes modes, and variables that increase improvements. The study presents five user interface testing methods. The testing methods are heuristic evaluation, perspective-based user interface testing, cognitive walkthrough, pluralistic walkthrough, and formal usability inspection. It appears that the five testing methods can be combined and matched to produce reasonable results. At last, the study presents different mobile application designs for student projects besides the evaluation of mobile application designs to consider the user needs and usability.

  • 최근 시각디자인 전공은 많은 국가에서 생산적 가치를 창출하는 신흥 산업으로 부상하고 있으며 시각디자인 교사는 디자이너의 발전과 디자인 산업의 트렌드에도 영향을 미치는 핵심 요소가 되고 있다. 시각디자인 전공 교사들의 역할이 중요해졌다. 본 연구는 대학의 시각디자인 전공 교사를 연구대상으로 하며 그들의 직무를 수행할 때 갖춰야 할 역량의 구성 모델을 연구하고자 한다. 우선 문서 분류를 통해 지식 능력, 교학 능력, 실무능력, 관리능력, 직업윤리인 5가지 역량군을 기반으로 한다. 시각디자인 업계 전문가 10명과의 인터뷰와 2회의 델파이 방식 인터뷰를 통해 시각디자인 교사의 역량을 평가하기 위한 설문지를 개발하도록 한다.

  • This study attempts to integrate causal model with competitiveness evaluation model, both of which have developed independently of each other, in connection with many studies on PMES (performance measurement and evaluation system) including the BSC (balanced scorecard) of Kaplan and Norton (1992, 1996). For this attempt, this study is composed of four analyses : First, this study develops a structural model for evaluating and diagnosing corporate ‘comprehensive’ competitiveness including quality competitiveness, derive CCI (comprehensive competitiveness index) and QCI (quality competitiveness index) ; Second, this study analyzes the determinants of quality competitiveness, the impacts of quality competitiveness, on product design and product reliability, and the impacts of product design and product reliability on quality competitiveness in the comprehensive competitiveness evaluation model of this study. Third, this study empirically identifies the positioning of product design in the quality competitiveness evaluation model of this study and the functional relationship between product design and other functions : product development, manufacturing, marketing, and marketing, and sales in the same comprehensive competitiveness evaluation model, estimate the determinants of product design and its impacts, thereby providing some empirical findings for the foundation of design management theory, and Fourth, this study identifies the positioning of product reliability in the same quality competitiveness evaluation model, estimate the reliability function and the functional relationship between product reliability and other dimensions of product quality, and tests the hypotheses on the causality of product reliability.

실시설계도면 기반 설계속성 도출 및 설계품질평가 (Analysis the Design Attribution to Assess the Design Quality Based on Detailed Design)

  • 최근 건설업계의 해외진출이 불가피한 상황에서 국내 설계도면의 경쟁력은 뒤처져있다는 평가를 받고 있다. 따라서 객관적 도면평가를 통해 국내도면수준을 파악하고, 설계경쟁력 확보방안을 마련하고자 한다. 실시설계도면을 기반으로 설계속성을 도출하고, 기존 유사연구와 전문가 인터뷰를 거쳐 속성을 보완한 뒤, 이들을 평가항목으로 Likert척도와 FMEA기법을 이용하여 실무자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 국내도면의 상대적 수준에 대한 시공사와 설계사의 의견이 다르고, 중요성을 인지하는 속성이 상이함을 확인하고 그 이유를 분석하였다.

  • Most real world design evaluation and risk-based decision support combine quantitative and qualitative (linguistic) variables. Decision-making based on conventional mathematics that combines qualitative and quantitative concepts always exhibit difficulty in modelling actual problems. The successful selection process for choosing a design/procurement proposal is based on a high degree of technical integrity, safety levels and low costs in construction, corrective measures, maintenance, operation, inspection and preventive measures. However, the objectives of maximising the degree of technical performance, maximising the safety levels and minimising the costs incurred are usually in conflict, and the evaluation of the technical performance, safety and costs is always associated with uncertainties, especially for a novel system at the initial concept design stage. In this paper, a design-decision support framework using a composite structure methodology grounded in approximate reasoning approach and evidential reasoning method is suggested for design evaluation of machinery space of a ship engine room at the initial stages. It is a Multiple Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) or Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) framework, which provides a juxtaposition of cost, safety and technical performance of a system during evaluation to assist decision makers in selecting the winning design/procurement proposal that best satisfies the requirement in hand. An illustrative example is used to demonstrate the application of the proposed framework.

Evaluation of Structural Integrity and Performance Using Nondestructive Testing and Monitoring Techniques

  • In this paper, the necessity of developing effective nondestructive testing and monitoring techniques for the evaluation of structural integrity and performance is described. The evaluation of structural integrity and performance is especially important when the structures and subject to abrupt external forces such as earthquake. A prompt and extensive inspection is required over a large area of earthquake-damaged zone. This evaluation process is regarded as a part of performance-based design. In the paper, nondestructive testing and monitoring techniques particularly for concrete structures are presented as methods for the evaluation of structural integrity and performance. The concept of performance-based design is first defined in the paper followed by the role of evaluation of structures in the context of overall performance=based design concept. Among possible techniques for the evaluation, nondestructive testing methods for concrete structures using radar and a concept of using fiber sensor for continuous monitoring of structures are presented.
